Airbag light has been lit for a while now for my 2004 Acura MDX. I originally took the car to Courtesy Acura for them to check what causing it. They told me that the sensor should be replaced and I paid $260+. After replacing sensor, the Airbag light still lit. They told me that they need to replace the front seatbelt buckles. One buckle (PART NO: 04813-S3V-A62ZC) arrived but the other one has been backordered for a while now (almost a year) and there's no ETA from American Honda on when the part (PART NO: 04816-S3V-A61ZC) will be available. This is a safety issue since the Airbag will not deploy in case of accident. Hope you guys can help me expedite the process and escalate the issue with American Honda. Thank you soo much!

I was in a parking mode and was leaving the parking lot. I reversed my car lo leave, and the car went out of control and was not until it crashed on two other parked cars that came to a stop. Then, After reversing my car, when trying to put it into drive, it would not move. When I tried to turn it off, the engine (re) started again and it worked so I could clear the path for other cars and wait until the police came. I had major maintenance at Acura Hopkins 2 and 3 years ago, I had a new steering pump and hoses changed 5 months ago and new front and rear brakes 3 months ago. Many people who are familiar with cars tell me that it was probably the rings. I don't know it may be the transmission? There was a police report as there were two other cars involved and both with severe damages. State Farm considered my car totaled despite the large amount of money spent to bring this car to almost new condition.

Multiple lights appear turn on and off indicated on dashboard, VGA, check engine light, and tire pressure system. I run a diagnostics and it says my Evap System had a code telling me to replace gas cap. I went to the auto parts store and purchased a new gas cap that is specifically for my vehicle. I turn the vehicle back on and code is still on. So I get the code erased with my diagnostic reader and the sensor turns off. But give it a few weeks and that light turns back with same code telling me to replace gas cap. I went back to return my gas cap at AutoZone. Then ordered an OEM gas cap for my vehicle and erased code and then code came back less than a month later. It can’t be two brand new parts, one was a universal part but specific to my vehicle. And second part was OEM specifically for my vehicle and from Acura/Honda parts department. So I don’t know what to do because repair said its a dumb code and just reset if I already replaced once. And don’t worry about the code indicator because the Evap system appears to be working. So it’s either an electrical issue or a glitch. I’m not comfortable with those options

When u push the gas pedal it will not accelerate all the dash lights are flashing or staying on as of right now the vehicle is on the side of the road I had to walk 15 miles cause I left my phone at home so I couldn't call no one and. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, TURNING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE DRIVER IN FRONT SUDDENLY STOPPED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO REAR END THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THEM. THE VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED OUT OF IT'S COMPARTMENT, HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S SEAT AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THE PASSENGER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THEIR ARMS, KNEES, AND FACE. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT STATED THEY RECEIVED INJURIES TO THEIR ARM AND KNEES, HOWEVER, NO MEDICAL ASSISTANCE WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE'S DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHILE REMAINING INSIDE ITS' COMPARTMENT AND THE SEAT BELTS HAVE LOCKED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE CONTACT HAD NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULD APPLY BRAKES SECONDS BEFORE THE VSA LIGHT AND TRIANGLE LIGHT SHOWS UP. BOTH LIGHTS WILL STAY ON UNTIL THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND GETTING LOUDER AND THE BRAKING MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED. IF ROADS ARE SLIPPERY THE VEHICLE WOULD SKID. DEALER FIRST BLAMED IT ON SOME SENSOR FLUID. AFTER SPENDING OVER $400 THEY NOW THINK ITS THE YAW SENSOR. I STRONGLY DO NOT THINK THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED MORE THAN A YEAR AGO.

I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE ABILITY OF THE BUMPER/FRAME TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY TO MY FAMILY IN THE EVENT OF A REAR COLLISION. THE PICTURES I'VE SUBMITTED ARE AT LEAST THREE YEARS OLD. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT SEATS BELTS AFTER THE CRASH REMAINED LOOSE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE OF THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE ACURA DEALER WHO ONLY OFFERS TO CHARGE EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS FOR A NON-GUARANTEED SOLUTION AND CLAIMS THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THEY SEE IN THIS CAR. HOWEVER, IT IS CLEAR FROM REGULAR DAILY DRIVING THAT SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS OF THESE CARS SUFFER FROM THIS PROBLEM. THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN CLEANED AS RECOMMENDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STABILITY ASSIST SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS, DISCS, CALIPERS, AND FLUID; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V092000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM) AND TO CONTACT THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,179.

THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BECAUSE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM FROM THE 2003 ON. I EXPECT SOME RECOURSE ON PAYING FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. THE COST IS ALMOST $5000

CONCERNED ABOUT THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE AND MY SAFETY I CONTACTED ACURA CONSUMER RELATIONS. SPOKE WITH SOMEONE WHO JUST SAID THEY CAN'T HELP BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT SOMETHING IS PROBABLY WRONG WITH THEIR MATERIALS USED TO ALLOW SUCH SEVERE RUST TO OCCUR AND EAT AWAY AT THE FRAME.

I HAVE A SCAR ON MY FOREHEAD AND WAS COVERED IN BLOOD. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD BAD LUCK FOR A WHILE, BUT HAVE RESEARCHED IT, AND THIS IS NOT JUST ME. THOUSANDS OF HONDA AND ACURA DRIVERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MOST HAVE REPLACED REGULATORS MANY TIMES IN THE SAME VEHICLE. THE VALUE OF THE CAR IS NOT MUCH AND I WAS ALREADY OVER $1000. WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN AND WHY AFTER ALL MY REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WAS THIS NOT FOUND UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. EVENTUALLY I TOOK MY MDX TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS. DISAPPOINTINGLY SIMILAR TO MANY ACCOUNTS I READ ON THE INTERNET, AND DESPITE MY DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM, THE ACURA DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, FURTHER NOTING ALL 19 ITEMS ON THEIR MULTI-POINT INSPECTION REPORT AS "CHECKED AND OK", INCLUDING THE TRANSMISSION. SOON THEREAFTER, THE DRIVE TRAIN COMPLETELY FROZE UP AS I DISCOVERED AFTER STARTING THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY (THANKFULLY, NOT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR). DESPITE USING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON (COINCIDENTALLY -?- THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL FOR WHICH I HAVE RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM ACURA), THE CAR REMAINS IMMOBILE BECAUSE I AM UNABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND PUT IT INTO GEAR TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. I AM THE SOLE OWNER OF MY 2004 ACURA MDX TOURING PACKAGE. IT JUST TURNED 200,000 MILES BUT THIS GAS PUMPING PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PUMP GAS, FUEL REPEATEDLY BACKS UP IN THE NECK AND TRIPS OFF THE GAS PUMP, MAKING A ROUTINE STOP AT THE GAS STATION A NIGHTMARE. YOU CAN ONLY PUMP AT THE LOWEST SPEED AND EVEN THEN THE GAS PUMP STILL TRIPS OFF BECAUSE FUEL BACKS UP TO THE TOP OF THE NECK. FROM ON LINE RESEARCH, I SUSPECT THE ISSUE TO BE A FAULTY ANTI SIPHONING DEVICE (ASD) WHICH CLOSES OFF IN THE NECK AND PREVENTS FUEL FROM PASSING, THEREBY BACKING UP AND TRIPPING OFF THE GAS PUMP. IT CAN TAKE 30 MINUTES OR MORE TO FILL THE TANK WITH GAS...THAT IS IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH PATIENCE TO STAND THERE THAT LONG. ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH WHEN THE ACCELERATION SUDDENLY FROZE UP, RPMS SHOT UP TO 4000 -5000, THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO AVOID BEING CRASHED INTO BY OTHER CARS. IT FEELS LIKE ONLY THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT BRAKE IS APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE SWERVES TO THE RIGHT UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONDITION HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH MULTIPLE TIMES AND IS VERY FRIGHTENING. MY 2004 ACURA MDX DOES NOT BRAKE PROPERLY IN A PANIC TYPE STOP FROM ANY SPEED. APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH MAXIMUM FORCE DOES NOT GENERATE ENOUGH HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO "LOCK THE WHEELS" AND ACTIVATE THE ABS ON DRY PAVEMENT. THE ABS WORKS WELL UNDER OTHER LOW FRICTION CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS RAIN, SNOW, AND ICE. THE ABS AND BRAKING SYSTEM HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND FOUND TO BE WORKING PROPERLY. PANIC BRAKING DISTANCES ARE LONG WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR FEELS AS IF IT IS NOT STOPPING FAST ENOUGH ON DRY PAVEMENT. NORMAL, NON PANIC BRAKING SEEMS TO BE NORMAL. I HAVE HAD NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS INSTALLED. BRAKE FLUID HAS BEEN FLUSHED TWICE AND I INSTALLED STAINLESS STEEL FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINES ALL OF WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE IN FULL PANIC BRAKING. OVER A FEW YEARS I HAVE HAD 3 INDEPENDENT SHOPS CHECK THE BRAKES AND ALL SAID THAT THE BRAKES WERE NORMAL. IN APRIL 2013, I HAD THE ACURA DEALER EVALUATE THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND WAS TOLD "NORMAL, THIS IS JUST HOW THEY BRAKE". TO DO A COMPARISON, I TEST DROVE A USED 05 MDX AT THE HONDA DEALER AND IT BRAKED EXACTLY THE SAME AS MY 04: NO ABILITY TO ACTIVATE THE ABS IN A FULL PANIC STOP FROM ANY SPEED ON DRY PAVEMENT. RECENTLY, HONDA RECALLED 250,000 VEHICLES FOR A DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THE 01-06 MDX IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. THIS RECALL WAS BASED ON HONDA'S AUDIT OF WARRANTY CLAIMS. CARS LIKE MY MDX ARE WELL BEYOND THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND WOULD NEVER BE FOUND BASED ON ANY WARRANTY CLAIM HISTORY. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT MY 04 MDX (AND LIKELY OTHER MDX VEHICLES) HAS A DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER RESULTING IN POOR BRAKING PERFORMANCE AND CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I WAS SPLASHED WITH GASOLINE. THINKING THAT I HAD PLACED THE NOZZLE INCORRECTLY, I TRIED IT AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULT. I WAS AGAIN SPLASHED WITH GASOLINE. I THEN WONDERED IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE GAS PUMP AND I MOVED TO A DIFFERENT PUMP AT THE SAME STATION. I HAVE AN ACURA 2004 MDX. 111,000 MILES. SERVICED AS DIRECTED. JUST REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM. ACURA HAD RECALLS BUT CLAIMED TO HAVE "FIXED" THE ISSUE. THERE IS NO WAY A PROPERLY MAINTAINED CAR SHOULD HAVE TO HAVE A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL DONE. THE MAINSHAFT HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE MECHANICS THAT DID THE WORK ARE EX ACURA MECHANICS. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS THE EXACT KINDS OF PROBLEM THEY REPLACED FOR YEARS ON MDX'S. I HAD TO HAVE AN ENTIRE NEW TRANSMISSION WITH MAIN SHAFT AND TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED. THIS COST ME $3,558.02. THIS IS WRONG. A CAR, ESPECIALLY A HIGH END CAR LIKE ACURA, SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN ENTIRE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 111K MILES. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACED. WE LEARNED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE ACURA MDX. WE FILED A CLAIM WITH ACURA. WE HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN. APPARENTLY, HONDA/ACURA KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE BOUGHT OUR 2004 MDX NEW. WE HAD ALL NECESSARY MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE VEHICLE. ACURA WANTED OUR DOCUMENTATION WHICH WE PROVIDED. THEY OFFERED TO PAY HALF OF THE REPAIRS. OUR EXPENSE WAS $2000. I FEEL THAT A RECALL IS IN ORDER. FRONT MOUNT BROKE FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE SIDE (WITHIN 2-3 WKS.) DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL STRAIN PLACED ON IT BY THE FRONT MOUNT NOT FUNCTIONING. 3. NOTHING AS OF YET. ON A TRIP TO A CAR WASH, MY ACURA MDX GOT LOCKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING WHICH CAUSED A BACK UP ON THE LINE AND LOSS OF BUSINESS FOR THE CAR WASH. I HAD TO HAIL A CAB TO GO HOME AND GET THE SPARE KEY AND COMPENSATED THE OWNER FOR THE LOSS. WHEN I GOT HOME AND READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE LOCKED USING THE MASTER LOCK BUTTON IN AN OPEN PASSENGER DOOR EVEN WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE ENGINE RUNNING. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED THAT THE CAR WASH ATTENDANT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MUST HAVE LOCKED THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A FLAWED DESIGN AND CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE SAFETY PROBLEMS.
