SEAT BELTSApril 16, 2026
The front seatbelt latch on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not latch or secure properly. The buckle fails to engage when inserted, leaving the seatbelt unusable. This creates a serious safety hazard because the occupant cannot be restrained while the vehicle is in motion. The issue occurs every time the seatbelt is used and has not resolved on its own.

Our office has received several notices for a recall on this vehicle regarding the Anti-lock Brake system module. The first notice was post marked 6/3/24 with recall code Z48/NHTSA 22V-426. The second notice was for a 94B/NHTSA 24V-838 recall postmarked 12-4-2024 and another employee took it in to a dealership on 2-12-2025 to be repaired. We have received two more notices, one in January 2026 and another in April 2026 with the same recall code. I called the dealership both times and they claimed both times, to not have parts for the recall. This is a federal vehicle used for public service work. We would like to get this resolved so that we do not have any safety issues in the workplace.

Subject: Vehicle Fire Following ABS Recall Repair – Safety Complaint I am filing a safety complaint regarding a vehicle fire that occurred shortly after a recall repair was performed. Vehicle: Jeep (Grand Cherokee/2019) Mileage at time of incident: Approximate: 58,350 Approximately four weeks ago, my vehicle underwent a recall repair related to the ABS system at Westgate Jeep located in Raleigh, NC 27617. Following that repair, I experienced brake issues due to air in the brake lines, which required a return visit to the same service provider for correction. On April 5, 2026, the vehicle caught fire while parked in my driveway. The fire originated in the front driver-side engine compartment area, where the ABS and brake components are located. The fire caused extensive damage to the engine bay, wiring, and surrounding components, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Given the timing and location of the fire, I am concerned that the recall repair or subsequent brake system work was performed improperly leading to either a brake fluid leak or an electrical malfunction or defective parts that caused the fire. This incident presents a serious safety risk, as it could have resulted in injury or loss of life. I am requesting a full investigation into: - The quality and safety of the recall repair performed - Whether improper installation, damaged components, or fluid leaks contributed to the fire - Whether other vehicles repaired under this recall may be at similar risk The vehicle has not been altered or repaired since the fire and is available for inspection. Supporting documentation (repair invoices, photos, etc.) can be provided upon request. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed urgently to prevent potential harm to other drivers.

While attempting to park my vehicle, it suddenly accelerated on its own, causing the car to move quickly toward a tree and a nearby building. I immediately attempted to stop the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal, but the car continued to accelerate. The engine was roaring, and I even tried using both feet on the brake pedal in an effort to stop the vehicle, but it did not respond. The only way I was able to stop the vehicle was by turning off the engine. Due to the unexpected acceleration and my concern that it could happen again, the vehicle was not safe to drive. A tow truck was called, and the vehicle was transported to a mechanic for inspection.

Vehicle: 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine: 3.6L V6 (Pentastar) While driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden engine overheating condition, followed by a catastrophic failure of the coolant recovery tank. This failure created a serious safety hazard and appears to be the result of a known and well-documented head gasket defect in the 3.6L engine used in Jeep Grand Cherokees. While driving at highway speed, the vehicle was operating normally until I made a left turn. Immediately after the turn, the engine temperature began to rise rapidly, indicating an overheating condition. I turned around and began driving back toward my residence to avoid further damage or a roadside breakdown. Before reaching home, the coolant recovery tank violently exploded, releasing coolant throughout the engine bay. As well as strong burning coolant chemical smells throThis occurred while the vehicle was still in operation and could have resulted in loss of visibility, fire risk, or complete engine failure while driving. After inspection by a qualified professional, the failure was confirmed to be caused by a failed head gasket, which allowed combustion gases to pressurize the cooling system until the coolant recovery tank ruptured. This failure occurred without warning and while the vehicle was being driven on public roadways. A sudden coolant system explosion and rapid overheating can result in: Loss of engine power while driving Fire risk from hot coolant contacting engine components Loss of vehicle control Stranding occupants in unsafe conditions This represents a significant safety defect. Jeep Grand Cherokees equipped with the 3.6L engine are widely known to experience head gasket failures, typically occurring between 50,000 and 75,000 miles. Despite this known issue, Stellantis/Chrysler has not issued a recall, technical service campaign, or extended warranty related to this defect.

My 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee (3.6L engine) suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine failure immediately after the dealership misdiagnosed a coolant leak from the oil cooler assembly. The oil cooler on this engine has a well-documented history of cracks, coolant contamination, and sudden oil loss across multiple Jeep model years. On October 25, I reported a coolant leak to the dealership, including a photo of bright pink coolant. The service advisor incorrectly told me it was “oil mixed with coolant,” did not document urgency, and did not involve a technician. I received no warning that this leak was dangerous or likely to cause engine failure. Within about a week, the oil cooler assembly failed, dumping the engine oil, causing smoke, knocking, and complete engine destruction. There was no prior warning from the dealership despite me reporting this issue directly. The dealership later created service notes that inaccurately stated they “informed me of a leak,” which is untrue. I informed them. Their failure to diagnose and communicate the seriousness of this defect directly resulted in my engine being destroyed. This failure mirrors hundreds of other owner reports regarding oil cooler cracks on the 3.6L Pentastar. This appears to be a pattern of premature oil cooler failure with severe safety consequences and no recall.

As a result of recall 94b and FCA US LLC’s failure to act/provide remedy for over 1 year. I am reporting an ongoing safety issue with my vehicle involving the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. Since January 2025, the vehicle has intermittently spun out, particularly in cold or wet conditions, creating a serious safety hazard. FCA acknowledged the defect but repeatedly stated no remedy was available. I attempted to bring the vehicle to dealerships, provided diagnostic scans and photos, sent multiple letters (including certified mail), and followed all escalation procedures. Despite this, FCA has denied a buyback, provided no safe alternative or loaner vehicle, and failed to respond to communications. Representatives have been inconsistent, unprofessional, and dismissive — including laughing during calls while I reported the defect and impending winter hazards. The defect remains unresolved, the vehicle is unsafe to operate, and FCA’s repeated denials and lack of communication prevent any path to a safe resolution. I am filing this complaint to document FCA’s mishandling and to request that NHTSA require them to take appropriate action. The full detailed summary and supporting documentation are attached.

In November 2024, I went to get into my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (17,000 miles). At that time, numerous lights started flashing on the vehicle dash (start-stop, stability control and check engine). I took the vehical to the nearest Jeep dealership, Valor Ford in Junction City. They indicated this was a known issue but unresolved by Jeep (received recall notice two weeks later). I was leaving for vacation and would be back in two weeks, rather than leave the car sit at the dealership I offered to take it home and bring it back when I returned. I was told by the technician that was not advisable because my brakes could go out. I of course decided to leave at the dealership. Upon return, they indicated my jeep could be picked up. My husband spoke with the technician because we had received the recall notice by then and asked how they fixed the problem when Jeep had said there was no solution yet. He, the technician, indicated they had ordered the part which is the same part that went out previously so it wasn't really fixed. We have been waiting over a year, I will only drive locally because I am afraid of the ramifications of this part. Not only is it not fixed but they charged us $1,200 to not fix our car and refused reimbursement. This was our vehicle to travel in our retirement years and for the last year it has been an anchor.

The HCU/ABS module falsely reads pressure in the primary circuit. The brake lights illuminate when brakes are not depressed, leading to risk of crashes. The car may be shifted in and out of park without depressing the brake, risking rollaway. The ABS is non-functional, a critical safety item standard on most vehicles that prevents crashes. The recall was issued NOV 7th 2024, over a year ago. The dealership states there are no parts available to fix the issue and the recall is listed as incomplete [Part 573 Safety Recall Report 24V-838]. This is extremely dangerous and unsatisfactory that the manufacturer will not remedy the issue. The warning lamps illuminated indicating this issue are "SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL" and the brake lights remain illuminated even when the brakes aren't depressed, including after the vehicle has been turned off. These warning indications first appeared on my vehicle within the last 2 months. The brake light issue started December 2024.

serious safety defect that has remains unremedied since recall Z48 (FCA 22V‑426) issued in 2022. This defect, addressed again in recall 94B (FCA 24V‑838), continues to disable the electronic stability control, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. FCA has had considerable time for the opportunity to fix since the first recall, and defective conditions were not repaired and still exist. FCA has been very dismissive with the several complaints I’ve field. I’ve been promised call backs every step of the way, even specific time frames and still have had to chase them down when I am not responded to. FCA issued “do not sell” orders on November 14, 2024, preventing me from trading or selling the vehicle without significant financial loss. I am reporting a serious safety failure related to the ABS/ESC recall on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Parts have not been available for over a year, and my vehicle has now experienced the dangerous conditions described in the recall. Before the failure, while stopped at a red light in Drive with my foot firmly on the brake, the vehicle suddenly rolled backward on its own. I had to forcefully press the brake to stop it. This should never happen and indicates brake system failure. About 10 minutes later, while driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden safety system failure. Multiple warning lights came on (ABS, ESC, brake system, check engine), the accelerator pedal became unresponsive, a burning smell came from the vehicle, and I temporarily lost control. I could not pull over immediately due to traffic, which created a very dangerous situation. The vehicle eventually became undriveable and required towing. I am thankful my children were not in the car. This is an extreme safety hazard. Stellantis still has no parts available and has not provided a repair or transportation option. This forces owners to choose between parking their vehicle indefinitely or driving a known unsafe vehicle. I request NHTSA review the lack of parts and enforcement of this recall, as it is putting families at risk. This recall has been active since September 2024, and as of October 31, 2025, no manufacturer-provided repair or remedy is available. As a result, my vehicle has now failed the Pennsylvania State Inspection due to a malfunctioning ABS—a defect directly covered by the factory recall. After the inspection failure, I took the vehicle to an authorized Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram dealership in Pennsylvania, where I was informed that the necessary parts and repair instructions are still unavailable from the manufacturer, and therefore, the recall repair cannot be completed. I have made two prior attempts to resolve this directly with Chrysler’s Customer Care department: Case #91837321 – Initial recall complaint Case #91655604 – Follow-up complaint regarding delay in remedy availability Despite these efforts, there has been no progress and no communication from Chrysler outlining when or how the repair will be available. This has left me without a drivable vehicle that cannot legally pass state inspection.

The vehicle lost powertrain upon accelaration. Merging onto a freeway and accelerating my vehicle was as if it was in Neutral. Same with starting out at a stop sign, coming to a turn lane and accerlerating to cross traffic, NO POWERTRAIN... just neutral. This issue was also reported by my mechanic when I brought it in as he test drove it. He contacted the local dealership and they inspected as well. Both came to the same conclusion as to what the issue was. The dealership mentioned having repaired over 30 vehicles with the same issue outside of warranty. This issue is very intermittent, which makes it even more dangerous and harder to diagnose until it starts to happen more often as my vehicle put on more miles. No warning lights or messages of failure. I was almost hit broadside at an intersection and nearly rearended on the interstate at 65 mph. My life was seriously in jeopardy as I panic stricken to get power entering the interstate with my vehicle basically in neutral. I had to pull over and shift to park and then to Drive again. According the local dealership and many forums, Jeep is aware of this issue and has had NO RECALL since the majority are out of warranty by the time they are diagnosed. I am beyond frustrated at the sheer danger this has. I am lucky I didn't get hit, someone else may not be. This should have been a recall before the warranty expired. I am now out thousands of dollars on repair and looking for resolution.

For nearly a year, I have been unable to drive my vehicle due to a serious safety recall involving the HCU/ABS module. Despite the known risks — including false brake light illumination, disabled ABS and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and the ability to start and shift out of park without pressing the brake pedal — the manufacturer has failed to provide a remedy or even a timeline for repair. This delay is not only unacceptable, it is dangerous. I am a veteran who needs to drive to appointments frequently and have been having a lack of proper care because of this as well. The safety risks outlined in the recall are not hypothetical. They represent real, daily threats to myself, my family, and others on the road. A vehicle that can move without brake input poses a hazard even when parked. A disabled ABS and ESC system compromises control in emergency situations. And brake lights that activate erroneously can mislead other drivers, increasing the likelihood of a collision. These are not minor inconveniences — they are critical failures that could result in injury or death. What makes this situation even more urgent is that I am expecting a child. I cannot afford to gamble with safety, especially when the risks persist even while the vehicle is stationary. The fact that I’ve been unable to use my car for almost a year has disrupted my life and left me without reliable transportation during a time when I need it most. The manufacturer’s lack of action — no repair, no interim solution/refund, no meaningful communication — reflects a failure to prioritize customer safety and well-being. This recall has not been handled in a timely or responsible manner. I am calling on NHTSA to take immediate steps to resolve this issue, provide a safe and functional vehicle or refund to ensure that no other families are left vulnerable due to inaction.

Vehicle reverse camera will stay on while driving. Leak in gasket. Leak in right mount. Radiator issue undiagnosed. Car is available for inspection at anytime as it is currently inoperable and I do not have the thousands of dollars to fix what is wrong with it while it only has 53k miles and licensed repair shop (not dealership as I was told by tech there to get initial issues fixed outside for a lower cost - all repair and service records also available) has advised faulty parts as listed above. Forgive me, I am not a car person so I do not know what exact things, but can provide. Have been on the phone all morning with FCA, manufacturing, and back and forth until this information was received. I have pulled a recall list by VIN and found that some issues with my Jeep are on there; however, apparently my specific VIN is not associated with the recalls listed (can provide report), I am responsible for repairs. Only warning lamp I have received was for a "cylinder 1 misfire" that was diagnosed at Jeep of Fontana in CA, where I was told to take it elsewhere. Now, after having a tuneup last week, I started my Jeep on Sunday and it began smoking. Was told at local shop, Mountain View Tire in Rialto/Fontana, they cannot fix. Please assist!

The Uconnect System on the vehicle has a delamination issue on the screen. I took the vehicle to the authorized dealer and they said it was a known issue. I tried contacting the manufacturer and they offered a 60% cost assistance since the vehicle is out of warranty. I researched the issue on the internet and found multiple people have similar concerns with the Uconnect System. Some reported that the screen stops to respond to touch which means a driver can struggle to turn on/off heated or cooled seats, heated steering as there are no physical switches to operate those features, to name a few and can cause distraction while driving. If the seat heat is on and one wants to turn it off once the seat is warm enough, they cannot. My vehicle has delamination on the three sides of the screen. It started on the one corner and gradually spread to the other edges. I can see that one day it will cover the entire screen rendering the system to be unusable.

I am filing a complaint regarding a serious and widespread defect in the Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system installed in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and many other FCA/Stellantis vehicles. The screen has developed a delamination issue that worsens over time. Symptoms include glue dripping from the edges of the screen, “ghost taps” where the system responds without being touched, and unresponsive or inaccurate touch inputs. This is not a cosmetic defect. The infotainment system controls multiple functions beyond entertainment, including navigation, Bluetooth phone connectivity, climate control, backup camera, and access to vehicle settings. Malfunctions cause driver distraction and interfere with safe vehicle operation, which could easily lead to an accident. When I contacted Jeep/Chrysler Customer Care, I was informed this is a known issue. My research confirmed that FCA/Stellantis has issued an internal service bulletin acknowledging the defect, but they refuse to issue a formal recall. This appears to be a deliberate decision to avoid the significant cost of replacing defective units across multiple models, leaving many unsafe vehicles on the road. This problem is widespread and well-documented among owners. It is unacceptable that Stellantis treats it only as a service bulletin issue when the defect directly affects safety. Drivers must be able to rely on the infotainment system to respond correctly, especially since it integrates with systems used while driving. A delaminated screen dripping glue and producing ghost inputs is a hazard, not a minor inconvenience. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect and require FCA/Stellantis to take responsibility through a formal recall and replacement program to protect the safety of drivers, passengers, and the public.

While my wife was driving her Jeep, everything seemed to fail. All the gauges were gone, no speedometer, no functions working. Every warning light came on. Display stated not to shut off the engine as it may not restart. She stated nothing worked in the vehicle, turn signals, brake lights may not have been working. And what if this happened at night? Would the headlights have worked? She drove the vehicle to our local Jeep dealer where they were unable to "get it in for a week". I had the vehicle towed to another dealer about 30 miles away. I provided them with the error codes the first dealer pulled and a picture of her dash display. They stated the error didn't occur for them, they drove it 13 miles and no errors were detected so they said they cannot troubleshoot it. It was a major can bus failure. If this had been at night I wonder if the light would have even worked. Extremely unsafe not knowing if any of the systems would have functioned. I was told to call the Customer support line. This is a rabbit hole. All calls go to India, they way they will call you back with in 24 hours... NOT TRUE. After days of trying to call, I finally got in touch with someone, they simply say we will call the dealer. I am out of pocket 1,000.00 for a rental car (even though we have max care which covers a loaner) and had to pay for the tow out of pocket. Stellantis is HORRIBLE no customer service at all, it turned into a mess! I am attaching the pictures of the errors and the dash display. Very poor response from the Jeep dealers. It seemed as if they didn't want to take the time to look or check out anything.

OH AND THE MYSTERIOUS GLOBS OF CLEAR ADHESIVE GLUE DRIPPING BELOW THE SCREEN more specifically dripping below the control knobs that are below the screen right into my center compartment where the USB ports are located! This is a known issue caused by a manufacturing defect with the glue used by Jeep to bond the layers of the screen. it should absolutely be a recall covered by Jeep! My warranty has expired so no luck for me unless uconnect covers it. Fingers. crossed on that. I checked fuses all good, did a soft reset that brought back charging ability in usb ports and the screen turned a dark blue instead of black but wtill no function, and did a hard reset by disconnecting my battery cable for 1/2 hr. I am writing to express my serious concern and request immediate goodwill assistance regarding my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude . This vehicle has suffered a head gasket failure at just over 100,000 miles and has been diagnosed by the dealership as a cost for myself to fix head gasket and recommended a full engine replacement. I have been a loyal Jeep customer since I was 16 years old. I previously owned a 2008 and a 2010 Grand Cherokee and have always supported the brand. In May 2022, after saving up my hard-earned money, I purchased this 2019 Grand Cherokee High Altitude for over $55,000. The monthly payments are significant, but I chose this vehicle because I believed in the Jeep name and expected quality, performance, and long-term reliability. Unfortunately, this vehicle has been anything but that. In just over two years, it has become a complete money pit. I’ve already had to replace the water pump at 50,000 miles, the radiator at 80,000 miles, and now—at 102,000 miles—the head gasket has blown. These are major repairs that should not be happening on a vehicle that is so well maintained and primarily driven on the highway. I treat this vehicle like my own child, staying on top of all maintenance—fluids, filters, routine checks, and oil changes every 5,000 miles. I’ve also had to pay out of pocket for three separate rental vehicles in the last 18 months due to these recurring issues. This vehicle has not only been unreliable but has also disrupted my ability to work. I drive for a living, commuting between multiple job sites, and I chose this vehicle for its sharp look and supposed quality. Instead, it has caused me immense stress and financial strain. Adding to my frustration is the fact that I had a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty and was not notified that it was about to expire. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle, as the malfunction may affect the ability to stop or control the vehicle properly, increasing the risk of an accident. I contacted the dealership and an independent mechanic and they confirmed the issue is related to Recall Z48. However, they also stated that no repair or remedy is currently available. The “Service Electronic Stability Control” message appeared on the dashboard. This was the first noticeable symptom, and it started about 2-3 years ago. Also, my check engine light is on all the time. I cannot remote start. I few times, I’ve had issues with the brakes and my jeep not starting.

Headrest on driver's side just "exploded" open while we were just sitting in our driveway. It hit the back of my head and made a very loud sound. It could possibly have caused an accident if we were driving at the time. Local Jeep dealer says this is not covered by an ordered warranty extension although other similar older vehicles with this same issue are covered. Estimated cost of repair by the dealer over $800.

I am filing this complaint because Jeep/Chrysler has denied my reimbursement request for a repair directly related to Recall 94B, issued in November 2024, covering the ABS module on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Prior to the recall, in October 2024, I experienced failure of the ABS module and paid out-of-pocket to have the part repaired at a reputable independent repair shop. After the recall was issued, I submitted a reimbursement request with all supporting documentation, including the repair invoice and receipt, showing that the repair addressed the exact defect covered by the recall. Despite this, Jeep/Chrysler has refused reimbursement solely on the grounds that the repair was not performed at an authorized Jeep dealership. I believe this violates federal law under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. § 30120) and the related regulation (49 CFR § 573.13), which require manufacturers to reimburse owners for pre-notification repairs addressing the defect, regardless of where the repairs were performed, as long as proper documentation is provided. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in ensuring Jeep/Chrysler complies with its federal reimbursement obligations and processes my valid claim. I am prepared to provide all related invoices, receipts, and correspondence upon request.

My vehicle currently has only 23,493 miles on it. During the last 6 years it has intermittently refused to shift out of the lowest gear when I started to drive off. I then have to come to a complete stop, shift out of gear and back into gear in order to drive off. This has probably happened about 10 or 12 times in the last 6 years. I cannot make this situation repeat. It happens only on its own. It is very scary when I am on a highway with other vehicles coming up behind me and I cannot accelerate and I have to quickly find somewhere to pull over and stop. Please help me and my family. I have an appointment in June with a Jeep dealer (earliest available for a transmission problem) to have it looked at. I have never seen any error codes displayed and therefore have no clue what the cause is.

Jeep starting making a light ticking sound, like it's low on oil. That wasn't the case. Took in for a tuneup, hoping that would take care of it. It didn't. Took into dealer and the camshaft, rods had been chewed up to a faulty part inside the engine. I didn't have my vehicle for two months due to waiting on warranty company. When reached out to Jeep groups, learned this is s COMMON problem. Concerned my engine could have frozen up while driving. NO warning lights or any other symptom! If my parents hadn't taught me how to listen to vehicles, it could have been very bad turnout. This cost me almost $4k. This should be investigated!!

I am experiencing a delamination issue with the Uconnect screen in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. I noticed this issue years ago when my car was still under warranty but thought it was a protective film on the Uconnect screen. Now, the Uconnect screen in my vehicle randomly turns off while driving which is a serious safety issue, especially when using the navigation system. This is a well-documented problem affecting many owners which typically manifests as bubbling or peeling of the screen's surface, leading to erratic touchscreen behavior such as phantom inputs, random changes in settings, or complete unresponsiveness. The root cause of the delamination appears to be the degradation of the "LOCA" adhesive between the screen's layers, often exacerbated by heat. This degradation can lead to the separation of the screen layers, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. The problem affects various Uconnect systems, notably the 8.4" Uconnect 4C UAQ and 4C NAV units. I have had this issue diagnosed and confirmed by Huntington Beach Chysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Huntington Beach, CA.

I took my vehicle on a road trip- it ran fine and I did not have any warnings or indications of a problem. When I stopped at my hotel room, the vehicle was fine. I went out to start it the next morning and I was met by a vehicle that would not attempt to start. It came up with a check engine light, e brake light, ABS error and a couple of other lights/error messages. I had to have the vehicle towed to a local shop where they informed me that this was associated with recall 94B. This recall was posted over six months ago and there is still no fix available. My vehicle will not start or run, and is not safe to drive even if I could get it to start. I am being told that it is impossible to fix until the manufacturer releases a repair option. I had to pay not only to have my vehicle towed and inspected by the first shop, but also I had to pay for it to be towed all the way back home (because I was on vacation when this happened) and it is now at a second shop who has confirmed the diagnosis and that no repair is available. This is my primary source of transportation for myself and my children, and I am being told that six months ago this issue was acknowledged by the manufacturer, but they have not fixed it. I contacted the support line for the manufacturer and was transferred six times, and then I was ultimately told that a supervisor would call me back with a solution, but that hasn’t happened yet. I asked if I should have my vehicle towed again to get it to the dealership for repairs and if they could offer me a loaner vehicle and the representative said she couldn’t advise me on that and I had to wait to hear back from a supervisor. I need them to either make a fix available or provide me a loaner or replacement vehicle if they are unable to resolve the problem. I purchased this vehicle in good faith.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland that has been issued recall 94B (24-V-838) with no remedy currently available. While driving this vehicle, it displayed a message to stop and turn off vehicle as it will be shutting down soon. Without further warning, the vehicle shut down, all power, lights etc, while driving at posted speed of 55 MPH, which resulted in the need for the driver to pursue action to avoid what could have been a serious accident. The active error codes indicate an issue with the HCU/ABS module, which is what was recalled. Jeep has not provided any assistance during the 5 months since this recall was issued. This recall should be upgraded to a mandatory do not drive recall with a loaner vehicle to be provided by Jeep until a remedy is determined.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and deep concern regarding Recall 94B, which affects my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and currently has no available remedy. This recall, as confirmed by Fox Chrysler Jeep in Southfield, MI, directly impacts critical safety features, including the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and other key functions essential for the safe operation of my vehicle. Given the severity of this issue—especially during Michigan’s harsh winter months—I find it unacceptable that no resolution is currently available. Fox Chrysler Jeep has verified that all warning lights on my dashboard are related to this recall, yet they have informed me there is nothing they can do at this time. As a loyal Jeep owner, I am extremely disappointed that Stellantis has not yet provided a solution to an issue that directly compromises my safety and that of others on the road. Given the circumstances, I am requesting immediate assistance from Stellantis to explore options for getting out of my current vehicle and into a new or used vehicle that is not subject to such serious, unresolved recalls. I cannot continue to drive a vehicle that poses such a significant safety risk, and I believe Stellantis has a responsibility to provide a viable alternative for affected customers.

On December 31, 2024 we had a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo cause a crash due to malfunctioning parts. The ABS brakes failed and locked up. The steering wheel also locked up, causing the vehicle to crash hard into a guard rail. This resulted in the vehicle being totaled, property damage, and a ER visit. While braking on a mountainous road, the brakes and wheel locked up and the vehicle could not be controlled. The police report states this is what happened. We had the vehicle into the dealership multiple times within a year stating that the brakes weren't working properly. They kept telling us that they couldn't find any issues; however, they kept trying to replace different parts to both the front and rear brakes. The vehicle was inspected by the police, insurance adjuster, and a collision body shop. The vehicle was totaled and not 1 single air bag deployed during the collision either. This incident was confirmed by the 3 parties I listed. A family members life was put at risk and looking at the damage, it appeared that it started to roll but ended coming back down instead. When I contacted Mopar about this incident, I was informed of the recall. They also said that there was a fix for the recall. However, there is no fix as to date. We are short a vehicle, which was paid off, an increase in auto insurance, and had a Lifetime Max Care Warranty through Mopar. None of this was in our control. The insurance company has taken the vehicle into their possession. There was no warning signs, it just happened suddenly.

Electronic stability control, check engine and ABS lights are all on. This effects not only my ESC- I have gone out of control multiple times in bad weather, but because of this the cruise control and the automatic starter on my vehicle do not work either. I live in northern VT where winters are tough. ESC needs to be working properly to prevent potential for crash. I have come close several times this winter to going out of control. Also very annoying that the convenience items do not work. Lastly- these lights have been showing on the dash since last summer. I wanted to trade the vehicle in about this time and still do for a different vehicle but can not because of the dash being lit up. This is causing significant financial impact on my household as the vehicle is depreciating day by day and I would certainly not get what its worth with a dashboard full of mechanic error lights.

There is a recall on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee it is a safety recall. Manufacturer Recall Number94B NHTSA Recall Number24V-838 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary An HCU/ABS module that falsely reads pressure in the primary circuit may illuminate the brake lights (up to 4.5 mph), disable the ABS and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of park without the brake pedal being depressed. Safety Risk A brake light that inadvertently illuminates may result in surrounding drivers not receiving accurate indication of slowing or stopping, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Disabled ABS and ESC, that are needed to help control the vehicle, can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. A vehicle that is able to start and shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal can result in unintended vehicle movement which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle.

Vehicle shut-off while in route, in traffic, check engine light then came on. The second time this occurred, check engine light came on and immediately vehicle proceeded decelerate from 55 mph to 25 mph while I was on a highway. The vehicle would not shift to a higher gear and remained in the lower gear at 30 mph on a 55 mph highway, causing me to move off to the side , turn off the vehicle and then restart the vehicle. Check engine light not shown, vehicle operated, except shifted hard. On several occasions I have shared with the dealer at service appointments that I experienced transmission sensor issues causing delayed shifting, not able to shift into reverse or drive from park, vehicles stalled, and rough gear changes, unusual noises coming from the transmission. The engine check light would come on, then disappear shortly after, but not always. Service appointments by a Jeep dealership resulted in them updating software, which I shared did nothing to resolve the problem, so I brought the vehicle back and asked they check the transmission fluid level and cleanliness of the fluid, and whatever else needed to be checked. I was told the transmission was completely sealed and it was fine by the dealership. It was not fine, and the vehicle stalled again, and again it while on the freeway, almost getting into and accident, the transmission locked up and would not move past 30 mph. A warning light did not appear. I brought it back to the Jeep dealership for repairs because it is not safe to drive. I am being told that the transmission is defective by the service department. I asked if they drove it and they said yes. This has been a problem I have been trying to get resolved for the last four months of 2024. I do have service records, in my glove box, and a video of the transmission flashing in reverse. Vehicle is at the dealership for assessment and repair.

The UConnect screen is delaminating. This is a known issue for this year/make/model. Jeep has a history of repairing this under warranty. Despite my vehicle falling within their guidelines for a no-cost repair, they have denied my request. This is a safety issue because as the screen delaminates, it (from what I understand from other Grand Cherokee owners) becomes non-functional. This means the backup camera and critical vehicle controls and settings can be come unusable while the vehicle is in use. I have requested that Jeep repair this under warranty as has been done for many other Grand Cherokee owners (based on my own research).

Cylinder head gasket(s) has a leak. It limited my ability to speed up and keep up with traffic in a timely manner, requiring me to put on hazards forcing others to navigate around me causing a backlog of traffic and other potential hazards. I have had inspected by two different auto repair shops and both came to the same conclusion, they have also told me that they have seen this issue on the same make and model of my car and other surrounding years of the same make and model quite a bit. check engine light came on, and there was a sensor warning on the dash the day of the problem cropping up. Per the repair shops either this issue has been silently present in my car for some time or the leak in it is very aggressive due to the remaining volume of oil in my engine.

Vehcile affected: 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Overland _ 2 wheel drive Vehicle Mfr Date - October 2018 The vehicle was in Park and engine was off. I got in the driver seat, mashed the brake, pressed the starter button, the starter responded so I immediately took my hand off the button. Even without my hand on the button the starter button would not disengage… it just repeatedly kept spinning and spinning and spinning. Kind of like it was hung or something. I had even tried pressing the start button again to make it stop but that didn’t work… (The button went in and came back out with no problem so the button itself was not stuck) The starter just wouldn’t disengage. I couldn’t figure out what to do. It did this for at least 30 to 45 seconds…. Like, My husband had time to get out of the backseat and WALK all the way around the front car to the driver’s door. Right before he got there I tapped the brake pedal with my foot and it FINALLY disengaged and stopped trying to start the engine. This problem Scared the beejeebies out of me!!! The engine never started up when the starter wouldn’t disengage. I had plenty of gas too - Just under a full tank of gas. Nothing coded. No problem indicator lights came on. Husband said it acted like either the bendix was stuck OR motor was spin over but would not successively crank up … it just kept spinning on its own I was not pressing the starter button anymore. This is the hardest thing to describe! All I know is… that was NOT normal!

It just popped out all on its own when no one was in the car and the vehicle wasn’t even turned on. I have seen SEVERAL reports on this problem, and Jeep agreed to extend the warranty on this problem indefinitely but only on year models up to 2018. My vehicle was manufactured in 2018 but the dealer says my vehicle VIN is not included for this warranty. That’s ridiculous! The same exact problem has occurred to my headrest that they cover for everyone else but not my vehicle. My jeep has a screen on the dashboard that controls the radio, navigation, and settings for the vehicle (i.e. the main "navigation screen"). All of the safety and advanced driver assistance systems are controlled through this screen and user interface. There is no other way to control/adjust these systems. There is a widespread issue with the late generation WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokees where the screen delaminates, rendering the entire screen and user interface non-functional. This results in a safety issue where multiple systems (including the ADAS) cannot be cannot be adjusted or used. I reached out to Jeep/Chrysler/Stellantis for assistance in repairing/replacing the screen. The denied a claim to repair or replace the screen. I do not feel safe operating a vehicle where I cannot control or adjust critical operations of the car. I believe this widespread issue of screen delamination should be considered for a recall.

Called Jeep cares and they told me if I went and got a diagnostic saying that The screen was delaminating, and I got a diagnostic that said that they would put it in the system and it would be covered was ever said to me about a warranty because I’m over my warranty, but I have an extended warranty through Lafontaine. It’s called easy care and when they told me that I was excited because, I was gonna get my radio fixed because the radio is the main brains to the car controls the camera on the phone or settings. I’ll have to get diagnostic. I called to make sure that was in the system and the lady told me that they changed the policy and that they would not cover it. The company knows all those radios that they put in those cars are defective and they are replacing them, but they’re giving people a hard time that don’t have a warranty and the fact that I was told it would be taken care of they should be held accountable to their word it’s a contract, even if it was verbal. And spreading, and that means that that radio can take control of my car is a getting somebody hurt or myself. It is very distracting the screen where it’s peeling on the inside.. Lafontaine told me Carol warranty and insinuated it was going to be covered. That’s why I had to drive all the way up to Fenton to get the diagnostic done there and then once I did the diagnostic, they said there was no warranty and the dealership does not want to help me out of her hands Somebody has to be accountable for him. Well maintained and properly serviced car. Never had any issues. While driving out of town, 4hrs into the drive the electrical system went haywire. Error messages began cycling through on the driver panel - stability control lights, service air bag system, engine light comes up, and service bag system, after which the car loses total power. After pulling onto the side of the road, I placed car in park, and attempted to restart and it would not power on. All lights are working but the vehicle will not start - it makes starting sound but won’t power on. After trying for about 30 minutes, the ac blower pop on, which was strange b/c the car was powered off. The car starts and is driven about a mile and the same thing happens all over. After trying another hour it starts again and drives another 2 hrs to my destination (at this time the radio and ac was powered off.) I chose to leave it off as I didn’t want anything to stop vehicle since it was running. Upon arriving to my destination a mechanic looked at it and said the electric systems stopped communicating and he reset it. The vehicle drove around town, a fee miles here and there, seemingly fine. When I put it back on the highway to return home the next day, the problem started all over again. We ended up stranded on the side of the highway yet again and after about 20 minutes, the car started up. We were able to drive to the nearest gas station at which time I attempted to turn the car off, thinking that maybe that would help to reset it. At this time the vehicle would not turn off. The front windows were not operating. The windshield wipers would not come on. It just so happened to be raining heavily, and I had to drive in the rain with no windshield wipers. Next, all the instruments went down. Gas hand went to E, even though there was over 200 miles of gas. The blind spots warning lights lit up and remained lit, the car appeared to want to lose power, would putter but remained on. Made it home and car powered off.

I have a few different issues with my car. The transmission has been shifting roughly, there’s a loud clunking sound when I put it in reverse, and I'm experiencing slipping, hesitation on acceleration, and sudden bursts of power. The car has been starting to jerk a lot. The engine has lost power while driving, which forced me to pull over on a busy highway at night with my kids in the vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to roll off the freeway, turn off the car, and after several attempts, I managed to drive home. Also my vehicle sometimes have a difficulty starting. I’ll press the start button and no response. I’ve also been dealing with electrical problems. My screen constantly freezes, goes blank or turns off. At times I can’t connect my smart devices. My AC has broke, repaired and having problems again. I previously took my vehicle to the dealership to address issues with the AC. I mentioned these problems, and I was told they would be checked. However, an employee later said they couldn’t find anything wrong. When I spoke to another employee, he admitted he wasn’t aware of the issues. It’s very frustrating dealing with these significant problems, especially since I can’t trust my vehicle and always feel scared to drive out of town. All of this has been an ongoing issue. SUSPENSIONAugust 6, 2024
There is something wrong with the front suspension of my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At highway speeds there is noise and vibration which is felt through the steering wheel and brake pedal. At lower speed, on city streets, you can feel / hear a noise when turning and the steering will pull hard to the left you have to quickly turn to the right to get the car going straight again. There seems to be something loose in the suspension which shifts out of place. I have taken it to the Jeep dealer several times and they say they do not find anything, they will balance and align the suspension but this did not fix the problem . The last time they blamed the tires, which had 55K miles, so I replaced the tires and still have the problem. This is a very dangerous situation, if it occurred in heavy traffic it would could cause the car to lurch into the oncoming lane of traffic and cause a head-on collision.

Today after I parked my 2019 jeep grand Cherokee and locked it I noticed my brake lights stayed illuminated. I got back in my car and confirmed that I was in park and my parking brake was on and my brake pedal did not feel stuck down in any way. I also tried turning my headlamps from auto to off. That didn’t resolve my brake light issue. I restarted it and put it in gear and drove a little and my fiancé confirmed from outside the car that even when in drive and moving without my foot on brake my brake lights stayed on. I got out and locked it again and then tried my remote start which did not function. I then decided to try drive around a little more and see if it would reset itself. Nothing changed with driving. Then after driving around I tried turning off my park sense button and the brake light went off and back to normal. Once i was parked again I retried the remote start and it worked. When I looked up this issue it sounded like symptoms of recall z48 which was repaired June 29, 2022 by my dealer. Tomorrow I will see if it happens again and if it will start and shift without brake pedal pressed as that is also related to recall z48. Could the repair for recall z48 have failed or was not done properly by my dealer? Just for reference my jeep only has 11,000 miles on it.

I realize I need to repair for safety issues. My question is an airbag is important safety feature and Jeep should be responsible and stand behind their product to ensure safety for their customers so, why should I have to pay out of pocket to repair a safety feature that should be functioning properly? I researched possible recalls and found Z48 for HCU/ABS module failures. Our vehicle was in the recalled build dates. We took it to Palace Chrysler Jeep Ram Inc. in Lake Orion, MI for repair. They "reflashed" the software, cleared the fault codes and returned the vehicle to us. In 3 key cycles, the failures returned. We took the car back to the dealership. They stated that the reflash wasn't done correctly. (blamed machine error) Reset the fault codes and in 3-5 key cycles the problem returned. Now on the third try, the dealership replaced the HCU/ABS module and charged us $1,100 for the repair. We requested reimbursement from Stellantis and have been denied 3 times. This is completely unacceptable since the Recall Z48 is for this exact problem. Also, it proves that their SW reflash doesn't fix the problem in some vehicles. We want Stellantis to reimburse us for this repair.

ISSUE: While in a left hand turn the steering wheel will stick and not return on it's own! My vehicle began having the following issue randomly in July of 2023 while in a gradual left turn onto the entrance ramp of the interstate. The steering wheel did not return on it's own and felt stuck. I had to give the steering wheel a slight tug to recover control. As of November 2023 the issue has become more evident in left hand turns! I initially looked for recall issues on the Jeep recall but non avail. The other day while on a short trip, the vehicle began to act squirrely while in lefthand curves and while making lefthand turns more frequently. I began researching the internet and quickly became aware that this seems to be an issue with this particular make, model and year. Upon further reading on different forums and finally the NHTSA page, I looks like dealers have pin pointed the cause to the failure of the rack and pinion assembly failure. On November 27th I contacted my local dealership for service. Initially I was told that there were no recalls reported on the vehcle. I then proceeded to explain the issues in detail and my research with the results on The NHTSA site. A service appointment has been made and I was asked to bring all supported documentation.

Hello, The Z48 recall for my vehicle has been completed by the manufacturer back on 5/1/23. They have failed to notify NHTSA that the recall has been completed so it keeps showing up as incomplete. I keep getting notices in the mail that the recall is still pending. I have been back and forth with dealer, mopar, and the manufacturer with no resolution to this issue. Please see attached invoice with proof that this recall has been completed. I was hoping this open action could be closed on your database. The 8.4 uconnect back up camera isn't working properly in my 2019 Grand Cherokee. I've spoken with several Jeep mechanics and they all say it's a faulty software issue with all of the 8.4 units.. Hello, I own a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee still under warranty and in the last few months have noticed the display screen starting to delaminate, it has become an eyesore but it does not bother me. What does bother me is what happens as the display screen delaminates. The glue melts, and leaks onto wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensors/rear sensors, and traction control, causing them to short out. Shortly after my screen started to delaminate I noticed a notification on my dash telling me that my rear sensors were no longer accessible. Since then I have had multiple cars in my blind spot that I could not see that posed the potentially threat of a terrible accident. After noticing this I went online to see if anyone else was having this problem and as soon as I clicked search, thousands upon thousands of reviews and message boards full of people having the exact same issue I am having came up. This is not only a problem with the 2019 it is also a problem with previous Jeep Grand Cherokee models and models after 2019, ex:'20, '21, '22. Jeep obviously knows that there is a flaw in their display screens because of all of the online commotion about it, but what I don't think they know is that this one problem causes many more problems due to the glue leakage onto other wiring underneath the display screen. With the amount of crucial wiring and electrical systems that newer model cars rely on, I feel that this is a huge safety concern not only for myself but for the hundreds of thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokee owners in the US. All it would take is a few drops of glue from the display screen to leak on a crucial component underneath the display screen shorting out the sensors to cause a horrific accident for drivers that have become use to their blind spot sensors and rely on them for safety. Please help us notify Jeep about this concerning issue so they can recall the screen and potentially save lives. Thank you so much!

The radio in the car, which controls the whole car, started dialing people out of the blue, over and over again. I finally had to pull over and disconnect my phone from the system. This could have called an accident as the repeated dialing caused me to take my eyes and concentration off of the road. No doubt I was a distracted driver at this time - due to what they call "system bubble". Jeep/Stellantis knows of the problem but they refuse to correct this problem that causes drivers to become distracted. They need to fix the problem ASAP before someone gets killed on count of this. Further more, I now have to take my eyes from the road to my phone because I can't use the system to use the handsfree system. This is a violation of the State of Alabama law. We can no longer have our phones in our hands, while driving a car.

Yesterday, March 18, 2023, the sunroof in our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded while we were driving on the highway. The weather was sunny and mild (52 degrees.) We were driving in an open area (no trees) and we were not close behind a truck or other vehicle. The explosion was extremely loud and terrifying. We initially thought we'd been shot at. The driver (my husband), myself (in the passenger seat) and our dog (in the back seat) were showered with broken glass. The remainder of the glass blew out towards the car traveling behind us. We are fortunate that my husband was able to keep calm and get us safely off of the highway without further incident. As this occurred around 5pm on a Saturday, we will report this issue to our insurance and local Jeep dealership on Monday, March 20. There were no warnings or indication of an issue with the sunroof prior to this incident.

I was sent a recall notice ( Z48/NHTSA 22V-426 ) and contacted the dealer to schedule. the recall is for the breaking system, and it took months to get an appointment, apparently bad breaks are not a concern? when I was finally able to get an appointment they claimed I had no recall? I described the issues to the service manager, and he said that I was experiencing the issue the recall was supposed to fix but they would not fix it as a recall, because they claim I do not have a recall despite getting more than 1 letter. the issue - the vehicle will not stop in and emergency situation. I have tried this at 25 MPH, and just slowed down, I have nearly hit other cars because I could not stop topping a blind hill. I have a long list of very scary examples. FCA says they will not add my vehicle to the recall list, so in case of a major crash or running over a child, I guess I will go public with legal backing. this complaint will also be noted that it was brought to your attention.

In June 2022, Recall Z48/NHTSA 22V-426 was announced. The recall impacts the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland we purchased in September 2022. At the time of purchase, a remedy for the recall was anticipated "soon" and "in a timely manner," according to both the manufacturer and dealership. Nearly 6 months since the recall was announced, there is no remedy. Our business prohibits use of any vehicle with an open recall. Efforts to use the vehicle for other purposes, including rental services (such as Turo, among others) have failed due to the open recall. We have incurred significant financial loss of income as a direct result. The manufacturer refuses to offer a replacement vehicle, refuses return and will not compensate for losses incurred. The manufacturer and dealership both confirm there is "no remedy expected in the immediate future". The vehicle is financed through the dealership, and ongoing payments are expected from the finance company, even as we cannot use the vehicle for its primary purpose. A remedy has not been provided as required "in a timely manner," and the manufacturer's refusal to compensate or accept a return of the vehicle egregious.

I took it back (now out of warranty) told me they would fix it and ordered the part. After trying to contact them, 6 weeks later, they are now refusing to fix it. Jeep are telling me the same thing.

The ignition mechanism of my vehicle. The push to start. I was driving and the push to start mechanism just fell inside its housing. I've never seen anything like this. Luckily, I wasn't driving very fast. I was able to slow down and park. However, I could not turn the car off. I had to get out of the car and try to find the ignition button which had apparently fallen out of the housing. After feeling around through a hole underneath the steering wheel i was able to feel the ignition in order to turn it off.

The front panel of the panoramic sunroof exploded into small pieces for no apparent reason. I was driving under 35 mph, on a 2 lane road, in clear, warm weather. I heard a "pop", then glass sliding over the roof of the car. In the rear view mirror, I then saw glass falling past the back window. When I stopped to investigate, I found that glass had also fallen down onto the fabric shade, which was thankfully closed. Broken glass falling into the passenger compartment could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle resulting in a collision, as well as causing direct injury to occupants. After this incident, I found other reports of spontaneous Jeep sunroof failures/explosions online. I will be taking my vehicle to a dealer and filing a warranty claim. I was traveling out of state (1300 miles from home) and could not find replacement glass at any dealers within 250 miles of my return route. Friends vacuumed out most of the glass on the shade before covering the entire opening, and what was left of the panel, with aluminum HVAC tape for my journey home. I can still hear glass falling down onto the shade when I drive the vehicle.

After starting and functioning normally for a ~ mile, a warning came up “stop safely - your vehicle will shut off soon”. I was on a road with no shoulder and had to keep going. In less than a minute, (1/2 mile) power steering failed, all other electrical devices, brake lights, dash lights, Speedo failed shortly thereafter. Engine and trans were barely functioning. I just managed to manhandle ( power steering had failed) it into a parking lot when it shut down completely. There is no way my wife (car owner & usual driver) could have steered it to safety. Once into the lot, Couldn’t electronically unlock doors or put it in park or even turn it completely off. It was literally electronically dead. Had to climb over seat to retrieve pets and perishables from the back as the tailgate open function also failed. Towed to Davis Chrysler Jeep in yulee, Florida. No word on root cause. I assume it was catastrophic batteries failure without any warning or prior symptoms.

Made an appoint to have it checked our four days later and it would not start. Took it to the shop and they could not move it off the back of the flatbed. Brought it back home. Then the batteries died. Tried to jump start., Almost. When it did I took it out of park. But then it was dead. Nothing. Had it towed to the Jeep dealer in Marshal, Mi. They said both batteries where totally no good. They replaced the batteries and found out the fuel pump was burn or shorted out and had to be replaced. I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk currently around 33,500 miles. I bought this vehicle new and have been having issues with it since I got it. I hear electrical crackling and popping throughout the cabin, mostly in the dashboard. I thought at first it was the adaptive cruise or forward braking system engaging, but the sound seems to be completely random. A common symptom is the speakers, microphones, and speaker-based safety alerts are completely cut out. If I'm on a call, the person on the other end will not be able to hear me until the speakers come back. Some of the systems that do not work as intended include: -- Radio/SiriusXM/Apple Carplay/Android Auto (No sound) -- Uconnect Voice Command (No Sound/Mic) -- Parking sensors (no proximity alerts) -- USB Ports (slow charge and do not recognize phones) -- Forward Collison Alerts (No Sound) -- Navigation Alerts (No Sound) -- Blind Spot Alerts (No Sound) I've tried the system with the following phones (with OEM and high-quality aftermarket wires) on AT&T, Verizon, Mint: -- iPhone XS -- iPhone 12 -- iPhone 13 Pro Max -- Samsung Galaxy Note 8 -- Samsung Galaxy Note 20 -- Samsung Galaxy Note 22 -- Samsung Z Flip My Jeep has the Panasonic Uconnect system. I've attached pictures of the type & IMEI etc. This issue causes a direct safety concern when an alert doesn't activate or a when the loud electronic distortion comes through the speakers that will cannot be turned off—causing me to have to pull over and turn the car off for the sake of my hearing.

I was driving my 10 year old son to school. We hopped in our Jeep in the garage. Pushed the start button and my son smelled something that was burning. I backed out of the driveway and then my son said there is smoke coming out of the center counsel. I pulled over and looked in the counsel and saw a fire. Ran to the house and got a fire extinguisher to put it out. Fire was out out for a short time, but then burst into an all out fire. The car burnt to the ground. Nothing remained. So far the insurance company and Chrysler cannot pinpoint what caused the fire. It is a total loss and the damage was too extensive to determine the cause. My son and I are very lucky we got out of the vehicle in time and everyone was safe. The vehicle was a lease and had only been serviced for oil changes by our Chrysler dealer. No alarms or visual indicators forewarned us that anything like this was going to happen. The vehicle is a total loss and we don't know why it caught on fire. Chrysler denies any form of responsibility. Just looking for answers and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I was sitting at a drive thru when my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 started to malfunction. A service shifter light came on, then the service engine light, then the service airbag light. all the lights and windshield wipers went on. no matter what i did lights and wipers kept malfunctioning. My car stalled and I wasn’t able to move it. I turned my car off, turned it back on and again. It let me drive a couple feet but the steering wheel was stiff. Again it stopped moving, wouldn’t allow me to go any further and only made the noise as if I was accelerating. All the lights and windshield wipers kept going crazy. I turned my car off and on again. Lights and wipers never stopped. I was able to drive another couple feet but then the 4x4 locked. The shifter switched from drive to parking and it was stuck on parking. The emergency neutral lever and button locked. My Jeep was going no where. The cables that connect to the battery were extremely hot and could have been a fire hazard. The vehicle was also saying service transmission continue on D, Do not shift or turn off Engine but the vehicle automatically set it self to Parking. My entire car locked down. I could only turn it on and off. I had to get it towed to the nearest auto repair shop. their analysis computer was unable to communicate with the vehicle. Backing out of garage to driveway just a few feet. Car suddenly accelerated on its own to a very high speed in Reverse. Knocked down a tree and busted through the neighbor's garage wall. Attempted to pump brakes but it did not help one bit. My safety was at risk and luckily I was not hurt. Luckily there was no one in the alley or at my neighbor's driveway or garage. People could have been killed based on how fast the car suddenly accelerated. No warning lights were on prior to the incident. Nothing to indicate there was a problem with the car. When the car stopped as a result of hitting the garage wall, it was still in reverse. There is $20k damage to my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision company said they will make sure its safe to drive but I'm not sure if it should be inspected elsewhere. I will contact a dealer to inspect after collision company releases the car. How am I to drive this car again not knowing if this could happen again and potentially result in death of someone? The car is certainly available for inspection.

I was driving on a highway on June 18, 2021, from Houston to Galveston (TX), at approx. 30 mph given traffic at that time, and suddenly the dash board started blinking and malfunctioning, I realized I lost the speedometer showing me only horizontal lines, the brake light turned on (red) and it felt like I did not have appropriate control of the steering wheel, it was very stiff. I was able to reduce the speed, turn on the emergency lights, tested the brake and then take the exit into the feeder and stopped and turned off the car. I called the River-Oaks Chrysler-Jeep service unsuccessfully. I waited 15-20 minutes and then turned on the car to see that the engine sign was on, this was not the first time that I've got this sign and even received emails with a warning for which the car was taken accordingly for service and I was told by the advisors that if the engine sign was on, the car was drivable but if it was blinking it was not drivable. One time, after having one of these situations with the engine warning light on, the next available day I brought the car for service and because the light was already off, I was told that the system might have reset and that no action was needed at that time. I decided to proceed my trip given that the steering wheel felt that is was back to normal, tested the brakes and drove to my destination, using the feeders and at very low speed. The next morning I called the Jeep service and talked to the advisor (Mr. Fernandez) over the phone, explained what happened and he reassured me that I could safely drive the car back to the dealer given the fact that the engine light was on but not blinking. Car was dropped for service on June 22, after being parked for those days. The ABS module was reported to have an internal failure and it was replaced. This has been a repetitive event but this last time was critical in terms that I lost confidence in this vehicle. The administration at this dealer is fully aware of these events.

I was driving around 75mph on the interstate for about an hour (not using cruise control) when all of a sudden the accelerator no longer worked. There was no warning, no error lights or codes or anything. I tested the brakes and they still worked. I was able to coast to a stop on the breakdown lane. I waited about 20 seconds and restarted the car and everything worked again. This is my son's car that I was driving and it's really concerning because I thought I bought a safe car for him. I'm an experienced driver, but either way it's extremely dangerous. I looked information up about this issue and I guess it's been happening quite a bit according to the internet. Someone mentioned that the 4 PCM torx head t15 mounting screws that hold the PCM faceplate to the protective metal case where the circuit board is housed are too long. (Not the 3 bolts that hold the PCM to the mounting bracket) When there was a vibration or shift, the screws touched the circuit board shorting everything out and causing the engine to stall. The owner put washers with the 4 little t15 screws and were able to fix the problem. I think there needs to be a recall. I'm afraid to drive the car myself or have my son drive it. I'm taking it to the dealer, but I don't think they'll be able to recreate the situation.

AND THE CAR WAS 'SPITTING' AS I WAS IN REVERSE. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS COMPLETELY IN THE REVERSE GEAR AND IT WAS. SO I PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN REVERSE AND IT WAS FINE AFTER THAT. BUT I SAW THIS POST ON FACEBOOK NOT LONG AGO, A WOMEN HAD I BELIEVE A 2017 JEEP CHEROKEE, SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HER CAR POPPED UP A NOTIFICATION 'SHIFT TO P'. RIGHT AFTER THAT HER CAR AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED AND SHE WRECKED. MY CAR SAID THE SAME THING TO ME THIS MORNING WHILE I WAS IN REVERSE. THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AS OF NOW, AND I AM SCARED FOR MINE AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS.

ANOTHER TIME LIGHT CHANGED FROM RED TO GREEN ON ANOTHER OCCASION WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. 2 SYSTEM WAS RESET AND SHOWING PHONES BEING CONNECTED THAT HAD BEEN TOTALLY REMOVED FROM UCONNECT SYSTEM. 3 ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION MY UCONNECT LINKS/APPS WERE NOT LOADED... TOTALLY DISAPPEARED AFTER BEING THERE AND CAR WAS ON FOR MORE THEN AN HOUR. 4 SETTINGS BUTTON/ OPTION TO ADJUST IMPORTANT INFORMATION SOMETIMES NOT ON SCREEN. 5 MAP NAVIGATION GIVING MISDIRECTION AND HAD ME DRIVING IN CIRCLES BACK TO MY STARTING POINT. 6 SCREEN FREEZING AND NOT ALLOWING ME TO DISCONNECT PHONE/CHANGE SCREENS...ALSO HAD ISSUES WHERE MY SCREENS WOULD JUMP FROM ONE THING TO THE NEXT WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING. DO NOT KNOW IF MY UCONNECT WAS ACCESSED DURING THE TIME PERIOD MY PHONE WAS HACKED INTO AND I HOOKED IT UP THROUGH CARPLAY OR IF A "LOCK LINK " WAS USED. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH BECAUSE I THOUGHT ALL THESE WERE ODD AND IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR "LOW LIFES" TO GET INTO THESE COMPUTER SYSTEMS. THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO AN ACCIDENT ON 1/22/20 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45PM NEAR PITTSBURGH, PA. I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE 'DRIVER SIDE' LOWER OR 'FOOT' AIR BAG, AS IT DID NOT 'UNDEPLOY' OR IF IT DID, IT IS VERY BULKY AFTER DOING SO AND BECAUSE OF THAT, IT CAUSED, IN MY OPINION, ADDITIONAL AND UNNECESSARY DAMAGES TO THE OTHER PARTY'S INVOLVED. SITUATION - IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACCIDENT, I NEEDED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND COULD NOT DO SO BECAUSE THE AIRBAG WAS IN THE WAY OF MY FEET REACHING AND PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN DRIVE AND IDLING WHICH, CONSEQUENTLY LED TO ME PUSHING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME FURTHER THAN THE ACTUAL SPOT OF THE ACCIDENT AND 'POSSIBLY' INTO THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF HER. I LITERALLY HAD TO PUT THE JEEP IN 'NEUTRAL' AND THEN PRESS THE 'POWER OR ON/OFF' BUTTON TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND TO KEEP IT FROM CONTINUING TO PUSH HER CAR. NOW ... DO I BELIEVE YOUR VEHICLE SAVED MY LIFE ABSOLUTELY! HOWEVER, THIS AIRBAG ISSUE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE TURNED OUT HORRIBLY WRONG HAD I NOT KNOWN HOW TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF WITHOUT USING THE BREAK. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNCONSCIOUS, THEN IN THEORY I L COULD HAVE PUSHED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME UNTIL WHAT I WAS PUSHING VIA IDLING WAS TOO MUCH WEIGHT FOR THE LOW RPM'S OF IDLING TO BEAR. ADDITIONAL DETAILS - WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY, BUT STILL ON THE EXIT RAMP, I WAS INVOLVED IN A MULTI CAR (4) ACCIDENT THAT I BELIEVE (AS I DID OVERHEAR CONVERSATIONS FROM THE OTHER DRIVERS BUT BEING THE 4TH VEHICLE OUT OF 4, I DID NOT EYEWITNESS THIS MYSELF) MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER WHO CUT OFF ANOTHER DRIVER IN FRONT OF THE 4 OF US AND THIS ACTION INEVITABLY CAUSED THE 4 OF US BEHIND HIM TO SLAM ON OUR BRAKES. UNFORTUNATELY, THINGS HAPPENED SO QUICKLY THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME.

I HELD THE WHEEL AS STRAIGHT AS I COULD, BUT WE DID GET INTO A COLLISION WHEN THE CAR WAS ALREADY STRAIGHTENING BACK. I REQUESTED MAINTENANCE RECORDS FROM AVIS, THE RENTAL COMPANY, BUT THEY DENIED RELEASING THEM. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE COMPEL THEM TO RELEASE MAINTENANCE RECORDS FOR THIS VEHICLE?
