Lose the ability to control the steering of the vehicle
Rear camera backup camera fails to show, says to contact dealership and does not display image although camera is properly intact.
Recall Notice: NHTSA 25V270 My Lincoln MKC VIN# [XXX] has a recall 25V270. I also have a 2013 Lincoln MKS Vin # [XXX] with no recall BUT which has the issues with the rear view camera it intermittently displays a blank and image is upside down and some times it will be normal. Should it be considered a recall due to the image may reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Which is stated on the **** IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL**** Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Water pump failure or malfunctioned causing the engine to over heat and then to engine stall going 75 mph. After having it towed it was determined the water pump was leaking. It put myself and others at risk of an accident. The water pump sits directly in the center of the engine so it can’t be inspected so easily and only option is to just replace. The water pump was confirmed by a licensed Lincoln Certified Dealer and failed at 69,639 miles. Many others have reported having this same issue. There was a warning signal that flashed as the engine reach an overheating temp, but there were none prior the incident .
rear-view camera issue causing inverted, distorted, or blank image. I paid to replace the camera when I purchased the used vehicle. The replacement rear view camera installed at the dealership has the same issue. I would like this rear view camera to be part of the recall ongoing for rear cameras as apparently the replacement parts have the same issue. This rear view camera was replaced and continues to fail on my 2013 Lincoln MKS.
The Lincoln was parked. When I started the car, the steering wheel would not move at all to the right or left. Simultaneously, the warning appeared that said, Power steering fault. The car was towed to the dealership. They diagnosed the car and fixed the software and replaced the steering module. Apparently, there was a recall on Lincoln MKS vehicles in 2015. I did not own the car at that time. The dealership service person said there was no recall on the VIN for this car. The notice on this website said No Unrepaired Recalls. My concern is that if the car was in motion and the power steering turned off there could have been an accident and injuries as a result.
The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKS. The contact stated that while reversing, there was a huge blast of white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for routine maintenance and was diagnosed and determined that the water pump was leaking, the turbo charger was losing power, the power transfer unit was overheating, and the water pump was overheating. The water pump was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
REAR CAMERA ON 2013MY LINCOLN MKS has been replaced and the replacment continues to fail. The camera either does not work producing no image, the image is upside down, or the image is grainy. The original camera failed and I replaced it and the replacement is failing the same way. I have spent over $1000 replacing this rear camera. It seems the new camera installed is the same one getting recalled on new vehicles and I believe my rear camera should be part of this recall since it was a replacment part.
The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKS. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the defroster setting malfunctioned, and the contact was unable to defrost and clear the windows, creating a visibility hazard. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 157,000.
The climate control system malfunctions by raising the temperature for the heater without any input. When turned off, it turns on by itself and resumes raising the temperature until it maxes out. This occurs when first started and also while driving, causing a severe distraction as the beeping is distracting and the temperature will not stop rising even when the My Temperature buttons are pressed to decrease the temperature. Other MKS owners have complained online. The car is available for inspection upon request. Sustained distraction while trying to find the temperature adjustment buttons and the off button lasts too long, creating a serious driving danger and large potential for an accident, even a head on accident. I have only experienced this when using the heater. It has not happened to me in the summer yet. I have not taken it to a dealer, yet. I will soon to find out how much they want to charge me for their vehicle design failure. The vehicle has not been inspected by others. There were no warnings or messages or symptoms. They first appeared within the last six months and have gotten worse with time. Now the runaway climate control occurs more frequently while driving.
Ill be driving and my car will whip me right off the road
Power steering assist faulty. To regain power steering control turn the car off. Throughout the past six months, this happened several times.

I was driving my 2013 limcoln mks and all of the sudden I could not turn the vehicle left or right. Then I had these 2 warnings: power assist fault and service advancetrac. This is very dangerous. It caused me to run my car into wall in front of me. It could have been a person. I called lincoln and was told there were no active recalls, yet no repairs ever on my steering. SO even though there was a recall for 2011-2013 limcoln mks power steering, it did not include my vin. I guess they just don't want to have to take responsibility. It boggles my mind how they can include or not include certain vins because my vehicle had the same thing happen as the recall for same year make and model, yet not my vin and it is allowed. Then when I get on the nhtsa website and see all of these same complaints, that it is perfectly ok because why? What is it, a sneaky way to continue with population control because covid didn't quite kill enough people for the government to reach their potential? This is ludicrous. It is ridiculous. It is unsafe. It is horrific that vehicles like mine are even allowed to drive on the road, with such a high risk on the road....seriously, why is my vin not included and what is the criteria when there is a recall for certain year make and model, why aren't every vehicle matching that year make and model included. To exclude them would mean that it had to be thoroughly investigated and investigating that thoroughly would mean to discover that indeed that vehicle should also be included. Maybe this recall is only for the elite and not for the meek. All created equal....not even close.

My power steering doesn't work at all it was sometimes not working and I shut it off and then turned it back on and then it worked for a few weeks and now it's completely gone and I can't steer the car
Steering wheel became hard to turn suddenly, i then searched online saw the recall from ford that was reported years ago in 2016 and when i called the dealer to fixed he told me the recall is expired and they cannot service my car under the recall. Dealer suggested i should pay out of pocket. i just feel like it so unfair and such a safety hazard i didn't know anything of the recall when i bought the car in 2021 and because it's just happening now in 2024 the dealer won't cover the recall because the recall expired.
Steering system made a whining, humming noise while driving, and steering control was not completely possible as the vehicle wandered both left and right. Subsequent investigation by dealer showed the steering rack was compromised, and replacement effected.
The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKS. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 188,700.
Electric steering rack went out, almost crashed due to the effort required once this happened. If anyone else was driving it would not have worked out luckily I was able to two hand gorilla the steering wheel around to prevent an accident. Very unsafe. Was a recall back in 2015 that the dealer says is expired ??? I think NHTSA needs to re-open an investigation into these steering rack failures now that the cars are older and getting more mileage on them
The electric power steering assist system shut down and the lane keep assist warning appeared and the steering wheel immediately became difficult to maneuver to turn left or right. It eventually locked while driving on the highway. I could have gotten in a serious car crash. I checked and there was a recall placed by the manufacturer 6/2/2015 (15S18). However, I was told by the manufacturer customer care representative that my VIN number was not part of the recall (although it met the criteria for the recall).
While driving down the road, my car’s power steering gave out when pulling into the gas station. The information center stated that my power steering system had a failure. It also stated that my lane departure system had a failure when doing research on this problem I found there was a recall for my year and model, but once I reached out to the dealership they told me that my Vin was not covered so I am reaching out to see if there can be another recall put in place for the vehicles that have not been serviced
The control panel that operates the heat/ac, audio controls and also houses the hazard light button has a high failure rate and will do its own thing or fail to operate all together. The volume will randomly max out by itself creating a blaring unbearable loudness and you have to hit the tap/hot the unit for it to stop. The heat /ac will also do whatever it wants randomly. The hazard light button will also not work randomly. I've talked to other MKS owners and this is very common issue to have.
Ford Port Richey overcharged for diagnosis. Claim on credit report still owe them. Same with Ferman Ford Clearwater overcharged key. Said need two in order to program ECM. Broke two other things. Wiper cord and guitar strings were cracked.
ECM ficum Went to Ford Port Richey, FLpaid $300 for diagnosis. Harassment with bill on credit report. Charge n charge but don't want to repair car. Same with Ferman Ford Clearwater FL there charged $300 just for new key an check everything. Back to Golden Oldies mechanic fixed ac sensor not ficum. Needs coolant sensor leaks out pressure due to ECM. They said it had a year warranty but not electronics.
Craig Briones 7225 Catalina Isle Drive Lake Worth, Florida 33467 Al Packer Lincoln 1530 North Military Trail West Palm Beach, Florida 33409 3-14-2023 Lincoln MKS (VIN# 1LNHL9EK3DG617409) On March 1, 2023 I brought my 2013 Lincoln MKS with 61,350 miles to Al Packer Lincoln. I have been using Al Packer for routine maintenance and repairs for some time. I noticed a lot of oil coming from the PTU of my vehicle. I complained to Brian Bailes (service writer) and Tim Olson (fixed operation director) that this leak should have Been noticed when my engine oil and filter service was done. It should not have been me to identify a known defect. I explained I wanted the PTU diagnosed and if a new one was needed I wanted the latest model With a Drain plug. I further explained that this is a known Defect and I don’t want to put back the same unit just to have it fail again. I ONLY HAVE 61,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. A unit was installed by Al Packer Lincoln but no one ever checked if it did in fact have a Drain port and no one ever called me to approve a unit without the drain. Lincoln/Ford now recommended PTU FLUID CHANGE at 20,000 to 30,000 miles. Hence the drain plug. I have a Lincoln extended service warranty. When I arrived at Al Packer Lincoln on March 14th 2023 I requested to see the unit installed onto my vehicle. I was told it was the latest model (AT4Z7251G). There is a DT4Z7251G, This model supposedly has the drain plug, why didn’t I get this one. Upon inspection there was no drain plug. The unit had paint pen markings all over it however NO STAMPED “G” UNIT ON THE INSTALLED UNIT. I REQUESTED THE parts invoice and was never given one. Where is the paper trail from Lincoln? Why would Lincoln install a non serviceable unit when it will just fail again. I was charged an additional $90.00 for Al Packer to inspect axle boots and the rear differential when this should be included in routine maintenance. Not a great way to protect customers from fut
while driving the power steering would lock , I check and found out that 2913 lincoln mks was recall but my vehicle ID did not match . I call lincoln company and was told nothing could be done for my car,
Power steering unavailable total fault at 140,000 miles. Warning came on that power steering assist was not available. Starting at 64000 miles this error would happen and it would clear by restarting the car, or disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and restarting the car. This time it did not clear, and manual steering without power assist is unsafe and difficult. NHTSA recall 15V340 000 document states ALL 2013 Lincoln MKS but my vin is not coming up in OASIS for Ford/Lincoln recall #15S18. Marina Ford in CA diagnosed this is the steering gear sensor fault same as other vehicles with this recall but my VIN does not qualify. VINS in this range are not sequential and documentation says ALL 2013 Lincoln MKS are affected but my repair is denied due to VIN not being included. Requesting adding my vin to the recall as this is a $3700 repair not covered according to OASIS. Sadly, the gear sensor does is not able to be replaced by itself and the entire gear/steering rack has to be replaced to fix the sensor fault according to Marina Ford (Los Angeles) Service advisor/Manager. Without power steering on this vehicle, some safety features are disabled and car cannot make evasive turns. When the last fault occured I nearly caused an accident as I crossed a double yellow line into oncoming traffic before I could manually correct the position.
PTU power transfer unit failed at 58,478 miles

Power Steering Issues. Power steering completely locks up or totally doesn’t work most times. Unable to turn steering wheel. Have been told by several mechanics they have say the same issue with other Models that have been recalled. Some VIN numbers are not being recalled.
The HVAC controls are touch sensitive/haptic. They fail with high frequency at low mileage. My vehicle has 70k miles, it started at 65k. They won't allow control of the HVAC system or activation of the front defrost/defog. The touchscreen controls can not over ride the fault which means no driver control. When it faults, the HVAC goes to the highest setting of 85deg F, the blower goes to high and can't be changed which is a defrost/defog safety issue. Sometimes it will stop if you continue pressing "OFF" for 5-10 minutes. It will continue beeping which is distracting and can be indistinguishable from other warning sounds. Also a safety issue. Very common problem on the 2013-up Lincoln MKS & MKT. If parts can be located, it's at least a $1,200 repair.
We just purchased this car and shortly after we were driving home and it just starts beeping and suddenly the heat comes on full blast, no one is touching the controls. This happens quite frequently and once it starts rising there doesnt seem to be a way to stop it. A simple google search shows that this is a well known problem by lincoln and happens a lot, there are a lot of forums and videos all showing the exact same issue. This is a major safety concern as it causes a distraction from the noise and sudden temp change, causes distractions as you frantically hit buttons trying to get it to stop, and could even cause the window to fog up. My dealer said its not covered by any recalls or warranty and wants $1000 to fix it. I called the lincoln help line and they said to report the issue to you.
while driving on highway power steering assist failure light went on after power steering stopped working. Vehicle has only 60000 miles and both dealer and ford were notified and both said vehicle was not covered by recall after vin was supplied to them.Analysis coeds U 0416 , U 0415 and u 3000 were found and dealer offered to replace steering gear at cost of $4000.00
Sudden loss of power and deceleration. This happens intermittently and sets a code P2111 every time. Can drive for days between incidents and never know when it will happen. Gives no warning just shuts down immediately. This is very dangerous and my wife almost got hit yesterday in traffic due to malfunction

For some 4 years now our car has gone into a limp mode while being driven at highway speeds, over bridges, and along dark roadways. The check engine wrench lights up when the car goes into this mode. Unannounced, the sudden and immediate slowing of the car leaves it unsafe to driver, passengers, and others on the road who find themselves behind a fast moving car that suddenly and without notice drastically slows down on its own. It is an uncontrollable unsafe and hazardous creeping condition. The car restarts and drives after being placed in park and shut down. The car then drives normally until the next limp situation. Once the car is turned off and restarted however the check engine wrench clears from display screen, and the code itself clears from the pcm. This has made the intermittent events impossible to catch upon being diagnosed by the dealer. We finally had to drive with our code diagnostic device to try and catch the problem as and when it suddenly arose in traffic. Last week the problem occurred again. We were able to get to the side of the highway and plug in the diagnostic device and pull a single code; DTC P2111. Upon researching the code we found that this unsafe problem as been known to Ford for sometime, but we were not in that group of owners who were sent letters explaining the extended warranty program put into place to correct this situation. That Customer Satisfaction Program, 13N03, extended the warranty period to 10 yrs from in-service and 1500 miles. Our vehicle, a 2013 Lincoln Mks with 110800 mis., is clearly is being affected by the throttle stuck open/closed defect (P2111), and, clearly falls within the extended warranty coverage period. We have tried to get Ford to handle our P2111 Code problem as it has corrected others it acknowledged and repaired, but Ford declined. Ford told us that since NHTSA had not assigned coverage to our VIN#, so it cannot come under the program. We are asking that our car be placed in the program and repaired.

THE POWER JUST COMES ON ON MY CLIMATE CONTROL AND THE TEMPERATURE STARTS TO GO ALL THE WAY UP, AND WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN IT OFF IT COMES BACK ON AND IF YOU TRY TO TURN IT DOWN IT GOES BACK UP IT HAPPENS WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, IT DOES THAT FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND STOP THEN IT STARTS DOING IT AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPEN WAS 03/12/2021 BUT IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYDAY.
MY VEHICLE'S INTERIOR TEMPERATURE WILL AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE TO ITS MAXIMUM SETTING VERY QUICKLY. I NOTICED THAT IT'S DUE TO THE TOUCH SENSITIVITY OF THE TOUCH PANEL, WHICH CONTROLS THE VEHICLE'S AIR CONDITIONING, HEAT, MUSIC CONTROLS, AND MORE. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH BECAUSE OF DRIVER DISCOMFORT AND HAVING TO WARM UP THE TOUCH PANEL WITH MY HANDS, IN ORDER TO ALLOW IT TO STOP CHANGING BY ITSELF. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY AND IS VERY CONCERNING. AREAS OF THE TOUCH PANEL ARE UNRESPONSIVE AS WELL. I NOTICED THIS SOON AFTER MY VEHICLE RECIEVED AN OVER-THE-AIR UPDATE (A FEW MONTHS AGO). THIS OCCURRED JUST AFTER MY VEHICLE REACHED THE 100K MILE MARK WHICH WAS THE WARRANTY LIMIT ON THE COMPONENT. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 111,900 MILES ON ITS ODOMETER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 LINCOLN MKS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20-25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE WENT ACROSS THE ROAD AND HIT A MAILBOX THEN A POLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND CAUSED A CHIN ABRASION, NOSEBLEED, CHEST AND RIB PAIN TO THE CONTACT AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATING WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOT AND DEEMED TOTALED BY THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A RECALL NOTIFICATION WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) BUT HIS VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE OF THE RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.*DT*JB*DT*JB
WHILE SERVICING MY LINCOLN MKS WITH AN OIL CHANGE, I NOTICED A BROWNISH FLUID LEAKING FROM MY INNER FRONT WHEEL AREA. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THAT FLUID WAS FOR, SO I GOOGLED IT AND IT SAID IT COULD BE FROM A DEFECTIVE PTU ON MY AWD LINCOLN MKS. AT 34,983 MILES, I TOOK IT TO MY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, AND IT WAS IN FACT A DEFECTIVE PTU. THE MKS WAS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE SO THE COSTLY REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. HOWEVER THE REPLACEMENT UNIT WILL ALSO FAIL AS FORD STATES THAT IT IS LIFETIME GEAR FLUID AND IT DOES NOT NEED FLUSHED OR CHANGED. THE PTU IS LOCATED DIRECTLY NEAR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THAT IS WHAT CAUSES THE FLUID TO OVERHEAT AND TO BREAK DOWN CAUSING THE GEARS TO FAIL IN THE UNIT. OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE ACTUALLY AN ADAPTED VERSION OF THAT PTU WITH A DRAIN PLUG FOR REGULAR FLUSH AND FILL MAINTENANCE BUT NOT VEHICLES IN THE US. CONSUMERS HAVE MADE VIDEOS OF HOW THEY HAVE INSTALLED THEIR OWN DRAIN SYSTEM ON THE PTU TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DRAIN AND REPLACE THE DEGRADED AND USELESS FLUID IN THE UNIT. THIS IS A SEVERE PROBLEM THAT NEEDS HANDLED.
MY FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE WHICH SUPPLIES POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP STOPPED WORKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 48,222 MILES. LUCKILY, THE CAR WAS NOT IN DRIVING MODE. IT WOULD JUST NOT START IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE LOCATED BEHIND THE REAR SEAT BACK FAILED. THAT WAS A $488.64 BILL. I NOW SEE THAT THIS IS ONLY COVERED WITH THE 3.5 TURBO MKS, HOWEVER, THEY ARE THE SAME VEHICLES JUST WITH THE TURBO FEATURE. I DO FEEL THAT MY SITUATION IS RELATED TO THE SAFETY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WOULD CRANK BUT THE MODULE PREVENTED THE ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP FROM WORKING. HOW CAN I RECEIVE SOME FORM OF COMPENSATION FOR THE REPAIR OF $488.64??? THAT MODULE SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED WITH A VEHICLE ONLY HAVING 48,222 MILES ON IT. THE CAR IS IN TOP PRISTINE CONDITION. I PURCHASED ANOTHER OEM FORD UNIT FOR A BACKUP IF THIS SHOULD OCCUR AGAIN. I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER $500.00 SERVICE BILL FOR THIS ISSUE. I WILL HAVE MY LINCOLN DEALER RESEARCH THE NEW OEM PART SO THAT IT ALSO WILL NOT FAIL.
ON 7/13/17 MY A/C FDIM MODULE WAS REPLACED FOR FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING THE DEFECTIVE UNIT WOULD TURN ITSELF ON IN THE AIR CONDITIONING MODE AND BEGIN ON THE COOLEST DIGITAL SETTING THEN PROGRESSIVELY ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE UNTIL IT REACHED IT HIGHEST POINT. I TRIED SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE TOUCH SCREEN OFF BUT THE UNIT KEPT TURNING THE A/C ON AND WOULD HAVE HARMED THE A/C COMPRESSOR. IT WAS SUMMER TIME AND THE HEAT ON HIGH AND WAS UNCONTROLLABLE WAS NOT A GOOD SITUATION.THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP TO FIND THAT THE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE. SINCE THE LINCOLN MKS WAS A CERTIFIED CAR, IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT NO COST TO ME. HOWEVER, I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS NEW UNIT COULD FAIL IN THE FUTURE WITH NO WARRANTY LEFT ON THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT $1400.00 OR MORE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE HAS BEEN ANOTHER CASE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THERE MAY BE OTHERS THAT I AM NOT AWARE OF. I AM JUST COMMUNICATING MY ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AT ONLY 33,308 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LINCOLN MKS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BALISE FORD OF CAPE COD (90 HIGH SCHOOL RD EXT, HYANNIS, MA 02601, (508)815-4007) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,320.
HVAC CONTROLS TURNS ITSELF OFF, CAUSING WINDSHEILD TO FOG UP.
LOSS OF POWER ASSIST STEERING, COULD NOT CONTROL VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. STEERING WAS STICKY, NOT SMOOTH ROTATION OF STEERING WHEEL, HARD TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE IT STARTED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A WARNING TO SERVICE STEERING NOW AND WHEN I TURNED OFF THE CAR TO LOOK AT IT, WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP, I LOST ALL POWER STEERING ASSIST
THE POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL WHEN IT HAPPENS. VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL, ISSUE # 2 TEMPERATURE CONTROL GOES FROM SET TEMPERATURE TO FULL HEAT UNASSISTED. YOU CANNOT TURN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE SETTING OFF. IT IS UNBEARABLE TO DRIVE IN CAR WITH HEAT ON FULL BLAST. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES CAN HAPPEN IN MOTION OR WHEN STOPPED
THE CONTROL FOR TEMPERATURE IN CAR AT ANY TIME CAN GO TO MAXIMUM HEAT WHILE DRIVING. IT IS UNBEARABLE INSIDE OF THE CAR NOT GOOD FOR MY ELDER MOM WHEN IT HAPPENS AS IT IS TOO HOT IN CAR
MY 2013 MKS IS STALLING WHILING DRIVING NUMEROUS TIMES, ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT A FEW DAYS AGO. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2013 MKS FUEL MODULE BECAUSE IT CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING. HOWEVER, AFTER CALLING LINCOLN I AM TOLD THAT MY LINCOLN MKS 2013 IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. LINCOLN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MY 2013 MKS IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WHERE ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING. BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I ORIGINALLY TOOK THE CAR OR MY MECHANIC BECAUSE I NEEDED IT LOOKED AT RIGHT AWAY AS IT'S EXTREMELY UNSAFE. MY MECHANIC ALERTED ME TO THE RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW LINCOLN THINKS MY CAR DOES NOT APPLY TO RECALL.
EVERY RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2013 LINCOLN MKS I HAVE WRONG WITH MY VEHICLES. BUT WHEN I CALL TO HAVE IT SERVICED THEY TELL ME MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS, BUT YET MY VEHICLE HAS ALL THE RECALL PROBLEMS.
I LOST MY STEERING IN MY VEHICLE. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED NOW THE PROBLEM WITH MY 2013 LINCOLN MKS IS RACK-AND-PINION-STEERING. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY MAIN STREET WHEN I STARTED TO LOSE IT. MY STEERING WAS EASIER. DOVE A BIT FURTHER DOWN THE MAIN STREET WHEN I LOST STEERING ALL TOGETHER. I NEED $2500.00 TO FIX I DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT NOW. NO PAPERWORK YET TO SEND. I AM FURLOUGHED DUE TO COVID. THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY VIN #. THERE WAS ON OTHER LINCOLN'S WE WERE TOLD.
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM (FCIM) THAT CAUSES THE TEMPERATURE TO RUN UP TO MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE. IT CANNOT BE SHUT OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE WITH EXTREMELY ELEVATED TEMPERATURES IN THE CAR YOU ARE VERY LIABLE TO FALL ASLEEP. OR TRY TO REDUCE THE TEMP BY BANGING ON THE CONTROLS, THIS MAKES YOU VERY DISTRACTED. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WHENEVER THE CAR IS RUNNING, IN MOTION OR STOPPED.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING), HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT PUSHED THE PUSH START BUTTON SINCE HE ASSUMED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO PARK, THE POWER STEERING FAULT WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO ISSUES UPON INSPECTING THE ENGINE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) WHICH HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT LEFT THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT INITIALLY CALLED DAVID MCDAVID PLANO LINCOLN (3333 W PLANO PKWY, PLANO, TX 75075) WHERE THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE FREE OF CHARGE. THE CALL DROPPED AND UPON CALLING THE DEALER BACK, THE CONTACT WAS TRANSFERRED TO RANDALL REED'S PRESTIGE FORD (3601 S SHILOH RD, GARLAND, TX 75041) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,229.

CERTAIN LINCOLN MKS 2013 HAVE RECALLS ON ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND OTHERS DO NOT. UNFORTUNATELY THE ONE I OWN DOES NOT AND MY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAS WENT OUT AND SAYING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. I WAS ON HWY 29 DOING ABOUT 60 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE LIGHT COMES ON AND MY STEERING TIGHTENED ON ME.
CAR WAS PARKED WHEN I STARTED IT UP. I GOT A STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE. GUESS IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD'S EPAS. THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE LIKE TAKATA BECAUSE OF THE HUGE SAFETY RISK. ACCORDING TO FORD MY VIN ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR. RIDICULOUS.
I STARTED THE ENGINE, I HAD NO POWER STEERING, POWER STEERING FAULT LIT UP ON THE DASH. SHUT OFF CAR, RESTARTED ENGINE, POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED. IF THIS FAILURE OCCURS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE CAR IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I LOOKED UP RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE, THERE IS ONE FOR CARS PRODUCED 9 MONTHS BEFORE MINE, BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THE SYMPTOMS ARE IDENTICAL, I SUSPECT THIS CAR SHOULD BE SUBJECTED TO THE RECALL AS WELL.
PAINT ON THE HOOD IS CORRODING AND PEELING IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT AREAS.
MY VEHICLE'S FUEL PUMP ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE SAME MODEL YEAR, HOWEVER MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. I PAID FOR AND HAD THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE REPLACED AT THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP. THE DATE NOTATED BELOW IS IN REFERENCE TO WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURED. THE OTHER ISSUE INVOLVES THE MANUFACTURER'S OPTIONAL 20 INCH WHEELS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THESE WHEELS, IT CAUSES THE ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION TO NOT WORK PROPERLY, CREATING A VERY HARSH RIDE. THIS HARSH RIDE WAS NOT DISCLOSED AS A SIDE EFFECT ON THE MANUFACTURER'S WEBSITE, AND IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING AN ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. IT ALSO INCREASES THE RISK OF BENDING THE WHEELS WHEN DRIVING OVER POTHOLES WHICH IS WHAT THE ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS ADVERTISED TO AVOID.
AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, DEFECTIVE FCIM (FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE) RESULTING IN TEMPERATURE SET TO ALL THE WAY HI/MAX FAN, CREATING CABIN TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 90 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. TURNING OFF THE AC SYSTEM OR REDUCING THE TEMPERATURE DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. PERFORMING A RESET OF THE CAR'S SYNC SYSTEM DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT, GENERATING AT LEAST 3 NHTSA COMPLAINTS AS WELL AS A TSB. IT CREATES A HAZARDOUS CONDITION WHEN TRANSPORTING VULNERABLE RIDERS SUCH AS INFANTS AND THE ELDERLY (THOSE SENSITIVE TO HEAT), AS WELL AS INTERFERING WITH THE CAR'S DEFOGGING MECHANISM REDUCING VISIBILITY UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES AND CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LINCOLN MKS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE CONTACT HEARD A TAPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE NOISE WORSENED OVER TIME. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN INITIAL ESTIMATE OF $1,800; HOWEVER, THE DEALER FORGOT TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR AN UNKNOWN PART. THE TOTAL WAS UPDATED TO $2,300. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. UPON RESEARCHING THE MECHANIC'S NOTES, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS DAMAGED WHILE IT WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THE DAMAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A $500 DISCOUNT FOR THE REPAIR. THE REPRESENTATIVE ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTACT FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,500. *DT*JB
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR CHIMED. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE 2013 LINCOLN MKS, DATE RANGES, SEPTEMBER 7, 2010 - FEBRUARY 28, 2012. MY CAR WAS BUILT JANUARY 7, 2013. WILL THIS RECALL BE EXPANDED?

STEERING WHEEL MAKES A LOUD NOISE (SQUEALING NOISE) WHILE DRIVING LEFT OR RIGHT VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER STEERING WHEEL.
THERE IS A LEAK COMING FROM THE WATER PUMP WHICH IS IN THE ENGINE. IT'S ON AVERAGE A $1700 FIX WHICH IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. FROM WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY MULTIPLE MECHANICS IS THAT IT IS A DESIGN DEFECT THE FORD DID FOR THAT YEAR. MY MECHANIC SAID HE'S BEEN FIXING THE SAME ISSUE ON FORD ESCAPE, LINCOLN MKZ, LINCOLN MKS, AND SOME FORD TRUCKS THAT ARE 2013. MY CAR IS BELOW 75,000 MILES AND THIS IS TYPICALLY A FIX THAT DOESN'T OCCUR UNTIL 120,000 MILES. IF THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT THAN FORD SHOULD BE PAYING FOR IT NOT ME. THE CAR IS NOT OLD NOR DOES IT HAVE A HIGH MILES. THIS OUTRAGEOUS
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY 2013 LINCOLN MKS SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. STEERING WHEEL WAS PRACTICALY LOCKED. WITH TWO HANDS AND ALL MY STRENGTH I WAS ABLE TO JERK THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING SITUATION. WHEN STOPPED, A "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" PROMPT APPEARED. VEHICLE HAS 208K MILES AND ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP, LINCOLN RECALL WOULD ONLY COVER VEHICLES UNDER 150K.
I STOPPED TO PUT GAS IN MY CAR AND WHEN I FINISHED I GOT BACK IN MY CAR AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND IT SAID ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM SHUT DOWN I COULD NOT STEER MY CAR THAN I GOT MY MANUAL OUT AND IT SAID SHUT CAR OFF FOR 10 SECONDS AND I WAS ABLE TO STEER AGAIN I'M JUST GLAD I WAS NOT DRIVING
CAR WOULD CRANK. BUT NOT START. THE CAR WAS PARKED @ HOME THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS.*JS

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A/C RANDOMLY GOES TO HIGHEST SETTING AND YOU CAN'T ADJUST IT OR TURN IT OFF. TYPICALLY HAPPENS IN EXTREME TERMPERATURES (HOT AND COLD). BEEPING NOISE AS IF YOU ARE PRESSING THE BUTTONS IS CONTINUOUS. WAS ADVISED IT WAS A FAULTY FCIM BUT THE PART "IS ON BACK ORDER" AND NO ONE CAN ADVISE WHEN THIS PART WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. IN DOING RESEARCH, THE FCIM PART SEEMS TO BE FAILING IN MANY VEHICLES AND EVERYONE HAS THE SAME COMPLAINT - THEY CAN'T GET ONE.

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM A TRIP OUT OF STATE WHEN I WAS DRIVING I CAN FEEL THAT IT WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL IT WAS KIND OF STIFF. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT GOT WORSE TO THE POINT TO WHERE IT HAD A MIND OF ITS ON AND THE LIGHT CAME ON SAYING LOSS OF POWER WHEEL STEERING. I THEN GOT OFF ON AN EXIT THINKING I NEEDED POWER STEERING FLUID STOP AT AN ORILEYS STORE AND BOUGHT SOME TO COME TO THE FACT THAT MY CAR DOESN'T TAKE POWER STEERING FLUID ITS ELECTRICAL. I STILL HAD AND HOUR TO GO BEFORE I MADE IT TO MY ONE OF MY DESTINATION, IT WAS A HARD DRIVE BECAUSE THEN THE STEERING WHEEL BASICALLY LOCKED UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LINCOLN MKS. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT OBSERVED AN ABNORMAL NOISE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WHILE TURNING. THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STREP BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
PLEASE PASS SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR KEYLESS IGNITIONS. BOTH MY PARENTS DIED FROM THIS, YOU HAD THE CHANCE IN 2011 TO DO IT AND 6 MORE PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN THIS MANNER.
WHENEVER I DRIVE 55 MILES PER HOUR OR HIGHER DEPENDING ON WHERE I AM AND I ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE OR I HAVE TO COME TO AN ABRUPT SLOW DOWN, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN PROPERLY AND IT MAKES A REVVING NOISE UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED GETS TO APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE LINCOLN SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVEN (7) TIMES, SIX (6) TIMES FOR BRAKES, THEY HAVE DUPLICATED THE ISSUE SIX (6) TIMES, THEY SHAVED THE FRONT ROTORS THREE (3) TIMES AND REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS ONCE. THE LINCOLN DEALER HAS STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN OVER 60 MILES PER HOUR. I ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE TOYOTA DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT HE DUPLICATED THE ISSUE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THE ISSUE COULD BE THE TYPE OF BRAKES THE VEHICLE HAS ON IT. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND I FEARED FOR MY LIFE EACH TIME I GOT BEHIND THE WHEEL.
MY PARENTS DIED FROM KEYLESS IGNITION DEATH 6/15/2015. THEY BOUGHT THIS CAR AND WERE NOT TOLD THAT IT HAD NO SAFETY FEATURES LIKE LOUD AUDIBLE OR ENGINE SHUT OFF ONCE THEY WALKED AWAY WITH THE KEY-FOB. MAKE NEW REGULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!

MY FATHER PULLED AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN ON A CITY STREET, CROSSED TRAFFIC AND HIT THE BACK BUMPER OF A PICKUP TRUCK AFTER WHICH HIS FOOT SLIPPED ON TO THE ACCELERATOR AND DROVE HIS CAR DIRECTLY INTO A UTILITY POLE. THE IMPACT WITH THE POLE WAS HARD ENOUGH TO SHEER OFF POLE AND THE FRONT OF HIS CAR WAS DAMAGED SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE BUMPER TO THE FRAME PUTTING A V-SHAPED INDENTATION AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. HE WAS GOING FAST ENOUGH TO SHEER OFF THE WOODEN UTILITY POLE AND THE WIRES WERE HANGING DOWN OVER THE CAR.

WHILE DRIVING (ENTERING) A MAIN STREET FROM A SERVICE STATION IN MILES CITY,MT. IN A HEAVY DOWNPOUR, AS I PASSED THROUGH THE CURB/STREET DRAINAGE AREA, I HEARD A SLIGHT BUT LOUD THUMP LIKE A BIRD STRIKE BUT IT WAS RAINING TO HARD FOR THAT. A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE INITIAL TURN I ENTERED I-94 EAST WHEN MY WIFE SAID THAT WE HAVE A PROBLEM AS A WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED FROM UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, AS WE DROVE FURTHER DOWN THE FREEWAY THE CRACK CONTINUED TO RUN TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE CRACK WAS SO BAD THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WOULD JUMP EVERY TIME IT PASSED OVER THE CRACK. THIS WAS ON A SUNDAY & NO DEALERS IN THE AREA WERE OPEN, ON MONDAY MORNING I CALLED LINCOLN FROM OUTSIDE OF JAMESTOWN, ND ABOUT THE PROBLEM & THEY DIRECTED ME TO A DEALER IN FARGO,ND TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE WINDSHIELD & SEND DIRECTLY TO LINCOLN WHICH THEY DID. AS WE WHERE ABOUT 30 MILES EAST OF FARGO, LINCOLN CALLED US NOT TO DRIVE ANY FARTHER AND THAT LINCOLN WOULD REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD AT THEIR COST WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I CALLED A DEALER THAT LINCOLN SUGGESTED & THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE 2 DAYS TO GET A WINDSHIELD FROM ST. PAUL. THE WINDSHIELD WAS ONLY CRACKED ON THE OUTER GLASS & CLOUDED UP ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CRACK. WE STAYED IN OSAKIS,MN UNTIL 7SEPT.14, THEN DROVE TO ST. PAUL FOR A WINDOW CHANGE ON 8SEPT.14 AT WHITE BEAR LINCOLN IN ST. PAUL. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED ON INVOICE [XXX], CUSTOMER # [XXX], WHILE THIS WAS IN PROGRESS I ASKED THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER IF HE HAD EVER SEEN SOMETHING LIKE & HE STATED NO, NOT ON THIS NEW OF A LINCOLN. I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM LINCOLN AS TOO WHY THIS CRACK APPEARED, BUT I DO BELIEVE THEY KNOW WHY??. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY WINDSHIELD PROBLEMS SINCE IT WAS REPLACED. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR MAKE, MODEL, & YEAR TO FIX A PROBLEM WHICH WOULD LEAD TO A FIRE. HOWEVER, THE RECALL NOTICE WAS NEVER RECEIVED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY, FIDUCIARY, HAVE DENIED THE CLAIM AS THEY DO NOT COVER FIRES CAUSED BY ELECTRICAL. *TR

I WENT TO CAL WORTHINGTON IN ANCHORAGE ALASKA WHERE I BOUGHT MY CAR TO HAVE THE RECALL 13S04 FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACED. NOW LESS THAN A WEEK WITH THE NEW MODULE, THE MODULE IS LEAKING AND THE GAS FUMES ARE OVERWHELMING INSIDE MY GARAGE. I PARKED MY CAR OUTSIDE LAST NIGHT TO BE SURE IT WAS THE CAR. I PULLED IT BACK IN THIS MORNING AND RIGHT AWAY THE GARAGE WAS OVERWHELMED WITH GAS FUMES. THE DEALERSHIP IS A 3 HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY FOR ME. I AM TIRED OF MECHANICS LEAVING THINGS UNCOMPLETED. THEY DIDN'T HOOK MY HEATED SEATS BACK IN AFTER WORKING ON IT. WIRES WERE HANGING OUT OF THE BOTTOM AND MY MOTOR PROTECTOR SHIELD WAS NOT SCREWED IN. ALSO, 3 WEEKS AGO, ANOTHER COUPLE IN THE AREA OWNED A 2013 LINCOLN MKS SIMILAR TO MINE. IT CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD IN A MCDONALDS DRIVE THRU. IT COMPLETELY BURNED UP. *TR
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
WHILE DRIVING THE 2013 MKS AT 70 MPH ON A 3 LANE HIGHWAY THE POWER CUT OUT AND THE CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO GUIDE THE CAR FROM FAR LEFT LANE ACROSS 2 ADDITIONAL LANES TO SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WITH NO POWER, WE COASTED. LUCKILY THERE WAS LIGHT TRAFFIC AT THE TIME. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED. WHEN OUR SON PICKED US UP ROADSIDE HE CONVEYED THAT THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM HAPPENED TO HIM IN THE CAR. THIS WAS APPROXIMATELY A MONTH EARLIER. I AM SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CREATED AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITION FOR US AND OTHER DRIVERS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD US THE CAR. *LN

HAPPENED 2 - 3 TIMES. ENGINE WILL SPUTTER/DIE AFTER COMING TO NEAR STOP AND THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC FLOW OR MAKE A TURN THROUGH TRAFFIC ONTO A STREET. CAR WILL START UP AGAIN AFTER PRESSING GAS PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS AS CAR DIES IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC .I WAS TOLD AT FORD DEALER THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVING A VERY EXPENSIVE AUTOMOBILE. FORD NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND EITHER FIX THE PROBLEM OR REFUND THE PURCHASE PRICE. *TR
THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE OPERATING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THIS FORCED THE OPERATOR TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE NAVIGATING THROUGH TRAFFIC. THE POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION/REDUCED POWER (RTT) WRENCH SYMBOL ILLUMINATED IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT. BEFORE THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED THE OPERATOR ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE UNDER ITS OWN POWER EVERY 15 MINUTES. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES THE VEHICLE RESPONDED TO THE ACCELERATOR AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE OPERATOR'S RESIDENCE. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY LOST ELECTRICAL POWER FORCING A FAIL SAFE MODE THAT DISCONNECTED THE ACCELERATOR CONTROL. *TR *JS
