Got into my truck after letting it warm up and the shifter broke out of the handle. It’s a known problem cause the design is flawed by putting so much pressure on the part. So in the end it breaks and then you can’t get your vehicle out of park or whatever gear it broke in. I was charged 718.00 for it to get fixed when I think this should be a recall or tsb.
The vgt actuator failed the truck only has 127000 miles on it ram extended the warranty for 2015 trucks but not 2016. The part to replace it from ram has almost doubled in a years time. It is now $2170. For this part whose internal computer components have failed. The files uploaded was just for the part. I can upload the repair cost when done. I am just trying to get everyone to see how corrupt these companies are becoming. They could have saved themselves some problems if they would just paid the $3000 to fix it this is a rough estimate.

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but also occurred while towing a 30-foot trailer or a 24-foot trailer. On other occasions, the vehicle was towed back to the residence after the failure. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Parts Store and diagnosed using a handheld scanner, and a fault code associated with the turbo actuator for the diesel engine was retrieved. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called a local dealer and was notified of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 09-005-22; however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

The low pressure power steering hose is leaking and can't get part for it. Been having to invest in tons of power steering fluid and want to know if this is gonna be a recall. It is very frustrating that we can't get parts for the problem.
ABS FAILURE, WHICH TURNS OFF TRACTION CONTROL AND CRUISE CONTROL. This is a known issue for the HCU to fail. How is this not a recall on 2016 but it is on 17 and 18. Same parts.... have replace front hubs with new ABS sensors and rear ABS sensors, still on. It has to be the HCU or the module.
Incident Report – Gear Shift Failure Date of Incident: 11/10/2025 Vehicle: 2016 Ram 2500 Pickup Truck VIN [XXX] Mileage: [Insert Mileage] Location: [Insert Location of Incident] Description of Incident While attempting to shift the vehicle from Park (P) into Drive (D), the shift lever suddenly went limp and lost all resistance. Upon applying slight additional pressure to engage the transmission, the shift lever snapped off completely. The gear shift bracket—the component securing the shift rod—fractured in half at the point where the shift rod inserts into the bracket. This mechanical failure rendered the vehicle inoperable and unable to be shifted out of Park. No warning lights or prior symptoms were observed before the failure. The broken part was visually inspected and confirmed to be the shifting lever bracket, consistent with Mopar part number 68470756AA. Immediate Actions Taken The vehicle was safely secured to prevent unintended movement. Engine was turned off and keys removed. Visual inspection confirmed that the shift lever bracket had broken at the rod insertion point. Tow service was arranged for transport to a repair facility. Photographs of the damaged bracket and shifter assembly were taken for documentation. I previously had recall 17V-821 work completed. This recall was for The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) locking pin may become stuck in the open position. I have the same issue now and see that NHTSA is investigating failed recall fixes. I have taken this to the dealer and an independent shop and am now trying to figure out how to get this repaired.

The local dealer later informed the contact that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and filed a complaint. The manufacturer declined to cover the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 238,000.
The grab handle or left interior a arm part broke and fell of in my lap while I was driving luckily it did not fall off when I entered the vehicle or I would have been flat on my back. I contacted Stelantis got the typical run around. Tried to order new part but part has been discontinued. Now I am driving with airbag not covered and exposed. The part number for my truck is 5RM911XAC you can check discontinued. I ask Stelantis to find part after I tried for months to no avail. Reply was sorry part discontinued. What broke was the plastic that holds two screws in. Hopefully no one gets hurt if others break. In my opinion it seems like a bad design to save money. The replacement part by the way is $313.00 for plastic with leather wrapped handle. I was willing to spend that but the attitude I got from Stelantis was very non caring after I spent $60,000 on a truck in 2016. I ordered this part in May of 2025 then in August they told me it was discontinued.
Transmission gear selector lever can be moved from park to reverse, neutral, and drive without having the brake pedal depressed. This is the way the transmission gear selector currently operates. This is not a one-time incident. I bought this vehicle recently and noticed this transmission gear selector lever issue about a month ago.
Towing my trailer with my 2016 Ram 2500, at 48,000 miles I experienced complete turbo failure in heavy traffic at highway speeds. Power was reduced to minimums causing hazardous conditions. The "check engine" light illuminated. I maintained control and eventually had the codes scanned at both a local auto parts store and Larry Miller Dodge/Ram in Sandy, Utah. The codes identified were for the turbo actuator/turbo. Larry Miller said they could replace the actuator, but I'd be back in three weeks for the turbo replacement as well. They were three weeks out for labor. I contacted a local diesel repair shop who purchased the turbo and actuator from Larry Miller Dodge Ram and had it installed in a day. Subsequent to these repairs ($5,400.00) I have learned that MOPAR issued Warranty Bulletin D-22-06, dated March 16, 2022, for the same make and model as mine, only for the year 2015. My truck was built in 2015 and the parts and computer codes for failure are identical. This published warranty bulletin issued relief of a new extended warranty of 15 years /150,000 miles for the installed turbo actuator/turbo. Since mine failed at 48,000 miles, this could be a continuation of the aforementioned issue with the stated 2015 year failures. I was lucky I didn't create a traffic accident when this turbo system failed since it was sudden and violent when the loss of power occurred without warning. I'm asking you to probe or look at the facts that the issue with these Garrett turbos are still outstanding whether Doge/Ram/Fiat/Mopar wants to include them in their campaign. The danger is real. The costs to retired people, such as myself, is consequential and devastating. It is unfair there is no way of sending queries to the manufacturers to alert them of this condition. The only way to communicate is to talk to a person in India and the communication barrier is tremendously difficult as is the chance of getting any return on the days and weeks of attempts for resolution.

I received an NHTSA recall notice V06/NHTSA 19V-021 on or about April 2023, I brought this vehicle to Stat Line Jeep Dodge RAM located in Somerset, MA early April to fix the vehicle pursuant to the recall notice for a Drag Link problem/defect. Upon arrival the service department stated they had not received a welding machine necessary to fix the problem and to call for another appointment, On or about April 10, 2023, I again brought the vehicle to State Line RAM dealership to complete the repair. On May 31, 2023, I brought the vehicle to Town Fair Tire Center to have all 4 new tires replaced and have the front end aligned. I was told that the alignment could not take place since the dealership welded the "Tie Rods" together. I brought the vehicle back to State Line dealership and asked why my vehicle's tie rods were welded. They told me that the NHTSA had told them that was the fix. I wanted to know how to get the vehicle aligned and the dealership told me that I would have to pay $850.00 to replace them and that should have been done except the NHTSA said to weld them together.

The service engine lamp came on. When the mechanic investigated, it was determined that the problem is identical to the Warranty Bulletin titled Cummins 6.7L Turbocharger Actuator - X99 Warranty Extension that pertains to the 2015 RAM 2500 pickup. My vehicle is a 2016 and there is no warranty extension, even though it is an identical problem. The vehicle was not drivable as is and I had to replace the Turbocharger Actuator. I am assuming that this is a known problem to Cummins and to RAM. There should be a Warranty Bulletin for the 2016 also.
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V021000 (Steering) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for an alignment and the contact was informed that an alignment could not be completed because to the tie rods were welded together. The dealer who performed the recall repair was contacted and confirmed that the tie rods were to be welded as stated in the recall. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was approved by the NHTSA and that for the alignment to be performed, the entire part had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The recall repair stated that Chrysler would notify owners, and dealers would check the steering linkage jam nut tightness, replacing the drag link assembly or welding the nut to the adjuster sleeve, free of charge. The contact believed that the dealer failed to perform the remedy due to the tie rods not specifically being mentioned as what was expected to be welded together. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the remedy was to weld the tie rods. The manufacturer opened a case regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 17,519.
Contacted FCA Recall Assistant Center on 10/23/2024 and filed a complaint against Corwin Chrysler Dodge, 3306 E. Kearney St., Springfield, MO., 65803 regarding Safety Recalls that Corwin Chrysler Dodge fraudulently checked off in the system as fixed, but they were not fixed. Case# [XXX] was assigned to the complaint. Keith is the assigned CS Manager and can be reached at 844-378-0575, ext: 3124. Keith informed us today that his hands are tied at this time and he doesn't have the authority to uncheck the safety recalls in the system that would be up to the dealership Corwin Chrysler Dodge in Springfield, MO. As of today, January 15, 2025, we still do not have resolution to this issue. We were informed to reach out to James River Dodge RAM, Ozark, Missouri. List of recalls below that we are aware that were completed by Corwin Chrysler Dodge of Springfield, Missouri. 1. Water Pump Recall T51 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) 2. New Tailgate Latch U74 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) We spoke to David, Service Manager, on 10/25/2024 and was informed since the system shows everything regarding the safety recalls for this vehicle are checked off in the system as fixed by Corwin Chrysler as completed. David told us that the safety recalls in the system that are showing fixed would need to be unchecked in the system in order for his team to recheck all the recalls on this vehicle and get paid for the service, because Corwin was paid for fixing the safety recalls when they checked them off in the system. 1. Steering - Drag Linkage Welded V06 (James River Chrysler could visibly see this was completed (10/25/2024) 2. The contact owns a 2016 Ram 2500 equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire Line: Dynapro AT2, Tire Size: 275/70/R18, DOT Number: 1BJWBRNB. The contact stated that while his son was driving approximately 60-65 MPH, the vehicle started severely vibrating and shaking on the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The driver pulled to the side of the road and removed and replaced the front passenger’s side tire with the spare. The vehicle was driven to Discount Tire where it was diagnosed that there was a bubble on the tire. The vehicle was taken to Walmart where the tire was replaced. The contact stated that approximately 3 months after replacing the tire, the driver’s side rear and driver’s side front experienced the same failure. The contact continued to drive at speeds lower than 20 -25 MPH. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was 137,804, and the tire failure mileage was 23,000.
I have a 2016 Ram 2500 Power Wagon that i have turned into a show truck. The truck has never been off-road or in the mud, it is driven to and from the shows. Last [XXX] as i was driving to Hickory, NC for a car show on Saturday August 31st my truck instantly lost power and turned on the engine light. The transmission felt like it was stuck in second or third gear, so i pulled over and scanned the PCM to see what the DTC code and it came back as P0870. Went online to research the code and see what it had to say about it and it stated to clear the code to see if it comes back on which i didn't. The light has not returned as of yet but when the truck hits overdrive it has a high pitch squeal coming from it meaning the transmission. I brought it in to my local dealership on Wednesday September 4th to have it looked at they performed DIAG and CVI inspection to find the transmission is starting to fail internally recommend replacing the transmission. Now want me to pay out of pocket for a new transmission even though i have max care warranty on the truck when i bought it new. i don't have $6000.00 to pay for a new transmission that's on back order. If it comes down to it and i have to get my neighbor to help me get the transmission out of this truck cause I'm [XXX] then i will rebuild it my [XXX] thing myself before i pay them $6000.00. Some time as i apply the brakes i get a pulse pushing back on the brake pedal , it results in a slower braking action . Also i have a power steering fluid leak coming from the brake booster system . The brakes and the power steering go through the same system . The brake problem has been happening about a year and the power steering leak at the booster about 2 months
On 7/11/2024, I had a service performed at a local independent automotive repair facility because I purchased new tires for the truck. The repair service history on the truck was limited because I inherited this vehicle from my deceased son. I intend to transfer ownership to my other son who will be towing a large RV Trailer with it. Prior to this service, I was unaware of an important safety recall identified as V06 Drag Link. After the alignment service was completed, the local service technician explained he was able to perform the alignment and confirmed the V06 repair had been previously done. He said the steering box nuts on each end of the Adjuster Sleeve had been welded, which was the recommended fix presented in the FCA US LLC safety recall notification. The truck steering wheel was not centered since I acquired it in 2021. At times it was cocked to the left between the 11/12 o'clock position. I attributed this to the well worn tires not knowing about the V06 safety recall issue. The service technician advised that while doing the alignment he noted the welded adjuster sleeve "had play" in it and recommended I take the vehicle to an authorized RAM dealership for this issue because he stated "an updated sleeve" was made available subsequent to issuance of the V06 safety recall notification. He warned a potential failure of the adjuster sleeve could result in loss of steering and a crash. I followed the service technician advice and took the vehicle to the local RAM dealership. I presented the alignment service finding to a management official who responded the recommended safety recall issue had been fixed and no updated sleeve available. The manager never offered to inspect the adjuster sleeve "play" issue and proceeded to list over $3,000 of other 60,000 mile recommended services. Because of the potential safety issue identified as described, I am deeply concerned the RAM dealership was intentionally discarding my safety concerns.

My ABS lights is on causing my cruise control to not be functioning. When I first start the vehicle, i get a message to "service electronic brake system." I have new brake pads with rotors and still have this message.
It is known that the 2016 Ram crew cab 4x4 has exhaust leak problems. The bolts on the exhaust manifold will break and exhaust will escape the manifold causing extra heat to flow into the engine bay, and fumes to enter the cabin of the vehicle. carbon monoxide is colorless and orderless and causes headaches, nausea, dizziness, and even death if inhaled. The exhaust manifold leaks must be fixed.

Service ABS SYSTEM warning light came on dash - July 2023. ABS is not functional. Traction /stability control is not functional. Scanned codes - OBDII code C0020. Took to RAM dealer 7/2023- RAM dealer stated and confirmed ABS module required replacement but the part was not available and unknown when it would become available. I have called several times every few months for updates- no parts available. This is unacceptable. My family’s safety is at risk because ABS and stability control are not functional- especially in winter icy conditions.

The tailgate will not stay closed. It comes open when driving and sometimes won’t stay closed at all. This is a common problem/recall with this model truck but for some reason doesn’t show up with my VIN #
My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation in that lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes which resulted from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence in my efforts to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. I have been told by one of your Customer Service representatives that your Company is “…unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period of time and the lower the demand, the less likely it is we will have stocked parts. As such, the part you are requesting is no longer in our inventory.”
ABS system/ Traction control system/ 4wheel drive system/ cruise control. I had the ABS system repaired/replaced once this year already and now i need it done again. ABS failure makes the 4wheel drive system fail and it's winter time and i need 4 wheel drive for safety.
I took my 2016 Dodge Ram to the dealership that I purchased it from and asked for an alignment. The dealership informed me that they would not perform the alignment as the V06 Recall had been performed, which had welded the adjustment nuts to vehicle's drag link. I was told that in order to get the vehicle aligned properly, the drag link would need to be replaced by contacting FCA. When FCA had called the dealership informing them of how to go about replacing the drag link, the dealership refused to discuss with them. The welded adjustment nuts should only be a temporary fix, and I would expect Doge to replace the defective component. The welds also seem of questionable quality, you would expect a higher standard for a critical component that could fail and cause a major accident.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle needed an alignment; however, since the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18E096000 (Steering) the alignment could not be performed. The contact was informed that due to the welding that was performed as part of the recall repair, the wheels could not be aligned. The manufacturer was contacted numerous times about the failure, but the contact was not given an answer as to when a repair would become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
2016 Ram 2500 ABS and HCU have caused problems while driving. My brakes are engaged and will sometimes bring the vehicle to a stop. While having problems with my brakes, I scheduled an appointment with my local Dodge/Ram service department. On the way to the service department March 2023, the brakes again started having problems and completely engaged on a busy bridge bringing the truck to an immediate stop. Not a fun moment. The closest tow truck was two hours away and after 40 minutes, I was able able to get the brakes dis-engaged and limped the truck to the service center. The service department had trouble replicating the issue because the computer reset after i drove the vehicle in. It wasn't till the third test drive the technician had the issue happen to him. I've read about numerous other similar issues with the same truck and braking system, and this could cause a serious incident where someone could get hurt. Even after getting a new ABS, I'm still having issues 6 months later with the brakes locking up. I took it to a new service center and again, the technicians are saying there is no issue because the computer has reset when the issue went away while driving it in to get looked at. It concerns me the Ram has not stepped up to fix this issue.
We were driving our 2016 Ram in July 20, 2023 to Yakima, WA which is 200 miles away from our home. About 50 miles north of town, our check engine light came on and our power was reduced to a minimal speed. We cautiously drove to the next rest area and turned the engine off. We waited about 30 minutes, restarted the engine and continued to Yakima. We had the code checked and turned off at an Oreily's parts store. We drove it to an Independant diesel service center since the Ram dealership's schedule was 2 months out to look at it. After several hours and troubleshooting, the diesel technician determined that the Cumins Actuator and Turbo were failing. Each time they cleared the code and drove the truck, they could recreate the problem. They told us that it was the same problem that the 2015 Cumins Turbos & actuators were having. They said there is a chance that our truck was manufactured with the same parts as a 2015 Cumins. They were able to repair our truck and said that we should notify the NHTSA, Mopar and our local Ram dealer of the problem. Mopar told me there is no recall for this issue, so they cannot help. The local Ram dealer told me that since they did not do the repair, they cannot report the issue. Please help us as this was an expensive repair, not including the cost of being standed out of town for days. Our Ram only has 39,000 miles and is like new, always garaged and drove for pleasure. How can we get this investigated or reimbursed?
Abs light and traction control light came on. The rear parking sensors and 4 wheel drive were also disabled. Repair shop stated that a wheel speed sensor was bad, replaced it and on the way home the lights came on again. Took truck back to shop and they stated another wheel speed sensor was bad. Replaced and then once again, lights came back on while driving home. Took back to the shop and they stated the connections to abs module were dirty, cleaned and sent me back home. Once again, lights came back on. Lights are now on and I have no idea how to repair other than to continue throwing parts and money at it. With Abs disabled, mine and my family's safety are at risk while driving, especially considering this truck is used to tow heavy loads, including livestock. Apparently this is a wide spread issue based on internet reports and has been reported on many of these trucks, regardless of mileage.

Hello! We have the driver seat and passenger seat that unlock after driving every mile. I have called the dealership and Chrysler and they say they cannot help me. This is a safety issue and I need assistance now
Right rear air bag twisted and got against the exhaust which caused the vehicles suspension to drop or not hold air. I was told it was the compressor leaking through and had compressor replaced. It is not the compressor and the vehicle right rear suspension continues to loose air. When the vehicle was looked at again the airbag was untwisted and had a burn mark from exhaust. This is definitely a safety issue concern! This has been ongoing since 2017 with no recall on this vehicle. I had it in the shop again for the same thing and was told this issue could not be resolved!
Driving truck and automatic changed to manual 4th gear - would not stay in automatic and would not go into any other manual gear at same time cruise stopped working along with the horn, seat belt light came on and would not go off , ESC light came on and did not go off, non of the steering wheel controls would work work , air bag light came in and would not go off , horn would not work at steering wheel but will when using key lock
All brake warning lights came on , cruise control stopped working abruptly, service brake system warning dinger dinging , abs not working , engine braking all stopped working while loaded going steep grade , nearly lost control of the truck and was nearly in a serious accident , abs module and hcu said to be problem , issue still persists after said problem supposed to be resolved , truck is a death trap and there are multiple complaints about it , hcu and abs module are months back ordered , this needs recalled
ABS/traction control lights on dash and cruse control won’t work with these on. Haven’t taken to dealer but researched online and believe it to be the abs/hcu unit.
6.7L Cummins diesel Known Grid heater bolt broke and could leave people stranded as it causes catastrophic engine failure and or damage leading up to $20 to $30K in engine repairs. Ram knows about this issue and is doing nothing about it. Mine broke and I caught it just before it destroyed my engine. the fix was a $1k kit. This bolt corrodes and and drops down into the intake in which destroys the #6 cylinder, piston, wall and valves. Ram is doing nothing to fix the problem and leaving people stranded who haul trailers and with the big repair bills.

The grid heater bolt that is on the bottom side of the grid heater. It fails and the bolt falls off and get sucked into the engine destroying the piston and cylinder causing an over 10,000$ expense.
This message is in regards to Static NHTSA Bulletin 09-005-22 / D- 22- 06 Dated March 16, 2022. The above listed warranty extension extends Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel Model year 2015 to 150,000 miles or 15 years if code U010C is indicated on MIL. My truck meets all above criteria but is a model year 2016. However, there is no changes in mechanicals between the 2015 and 2016 model year. My truck, at 114,000 miles just indicated this issue and the estimated cost of repairs is over 2,000 dollars. Considering that this has already been a widespread notable issue with this truck and engine, my hopes is to include 2016 model years in this extension. Thank you.
When vehicles comes to a stop or a slow roll. It makes a loud humming sound and cuts off in drive. The lights starts flickering ans The check engine flashes on at that time. Received a ecm code.I have to place in park and restart. Happens 70% of the time in drive and other times in reverse or park. Cruise control would not turn on. If on will not turn off with buttons
Truck started shaking like a tire was out of round. Right front tire had separation (several large bubbles on the inside of the tire). I replaced that tire with a spare of a different brand. About 2 weeks later the left rear tire had the same issue. These tires are less than 1 year old and have less then 15,000 miles. I do not trust these tires any more and replaced them at significant cost.
In March of 2022 my ABS/Traction Control light illuminated and returned a code of "Internal Electrical Failure". I have had this evaluated by two different dealers with two different pieces being blamed. One is the ABS Contril Module and the other is the Hydraulic Control Unit. I have replaced both multiple times without any remedy. The dealer stating that is was the ABS Control Module told me multiple times that they cannot even order the part to fix it. This means I cannot get a state inspection sticker on my primary mode of transportation as well as not having working ABS brakes, traction control, and cruise control. This is a concern with my family being safe as well as when towing my 5th wheel rv. There is an open investigation for 2017-2018 but my truck is a 2016 with the same issue. There are multiple people on forums with Rams other than the 2017-18 trucks with this same exact problem. A lot of us are using vehicles that are not able to be inspected with safety equipment not functioning correctly.
In 2020, Dodge repaired a recall by welding the steering linkage nut to the drag link. This recall (V06) prohibits me to have the vehicle aligned by a tire repair/replacement shop. Additionally, the ability to align the vehicle relies on the dealer to break the weld, replace the nut and re-weld the part. This repetitive process in turn causes metal fatigue to the drive link, presenting another MAJOR safety concern. If the drive link were to fail, I would lose steering control and crash without warning. I have contacted Dodge directly and requested they replace the drive link on my vehicle to remedy this problem, however, they have refused. The cost to replace the drive link and re-align the vehicle (required after part replacement) is approximately $1,100. Much less money than would be paid out for a catastrophic fatality(ies) resulting from the failure of this part.

The contact placed a rubber line on the fuel line because he noticed the fuel line was rubbing against the frame of the vehicle causing the fuel line to wear. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 87,000.
My 2016 RAM has very loose steering and has almost caused me an accident several times due to my lack of control of the steering. The steering stabilizer jam nuts have been welded to the adjuster sleeve (as the referenced recalls below suggest as a fix) but the entire assembly rotates freely by hand! I am constantly having to get alignments to help control my steering, however, it seems to be getting worse and I am having to do alignments more often. Now, recall numbers 19V021000 and 18E096000 both refer to this problem for select RAM 2500s however, for some reason my VIN is not connected to this recall although it is obvious that it has been implemented on my truck. I bought my truck in 2018 used from a dealership. All the recalls that were indicated on my truck at the time were implemented, but so was the welding of the jam nuts even though my VIN doesn't reflect this recall action. I have an appointment with my Chrysler dealership this Thursday, but they told me that there probably wasn't much that they could do without the recall being attached to my VIN. This is currently my only vehicle and I am cautious and scared every time I drive it now since there is no warning as to when the steering loosens up and the truck seems to drive diagonally vice straight. I would greatly appreciate some help in this matter.

The dealer had diagnosed the failure and determined that the vehicle needed to have the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) bypassed to a new TIPM relay. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V530000 (Electrical System). The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
Broke suspension on a pothole. After repair, Alignment shop would not align vehicle because Ram welded the Drag Link as part of their V06 recall so that it was no longer adjustable. Being that this is my primary vehicle, I had to purchase a new drag link so that my steering could be readjusted as well as have my tires wear properly. I asked Ram for Refund on this repair , but they responded that in order to get a refund, I would have had to be towed to a Ram dealership on my own dime, then wait for an official Ram part to come in which would cost me hundreds of dollars in rental cars and tow bills for an adjustable part that they welded to make non adjustable.
Previous FCA campaign #U30 of solonoid pack for transmission 68rfe has been completed in 2018 and in June of 2022 a transmission service technician stated the one from the recall was faulty and needed replaced. Upon replacement with OEM solonoid pack the truck went into limp mode and was locked into 4th gear. Vehicle is undrivable and at the dealer. After further inspection the solonoid issue caused the clutch pack to shed debris into the bottom on the transmission pan which just had a new gasket, filters and fluid less than 20 miles ago. Transmission tech stated the debris was no there and saw no evidence of failure to the clutch pack prior to the replacement of the solonoid. Now transmission has to be rebuilt at owned expense. Vehicle has 72,000 miles and is not used for towing or aggressive driving.
I was driving my truck on the freeway pulling a loaded stock trailer. The truck suddenly down shifted into fourth gear and the engine RPM’s maxed out! I almost crashed the truck because the momentum of the trailer pushed the truck sideways on the freeway. I had to avoid traffic and get to the shoulder. Truck would not shift out of fourth gear and truck shifted into 4WD low also on its own. Had truck towed to dealers ship and was told a shift solenoid went out. Because of that they now have to change the torque converter and replace the transmission from the damaged it caused. It is unknown if it damaged any of the engine components at this time or any other parts of the drivetrain. Now I’m stuck paying for a transmission because Dodge didn’t put a safety backup into their system to prevent this in case of a failure. I see that I am not the first person it’s happened to by reading the power train comments for this year truck.
A known issue is occurring across many vehicles where the ABS Braking system becomes non-working and illuminates the ABS - Service Electrical Braking System light along with disengaging the vehicle traction control. The part that needs to be replaced is on national backorder with no ETA of availability. In turn, this issue is causing my West Virginia State Vehicle Inspection to remain invalid as I cannot get a proper inspection due to the warning light. In addition, with the ABS not working, I am fearful of using my vehicle to transport my family, especially my toddler. This issue needs to be addressed by Chrysler Corp, but there have been no recalls nor even a TSB released referring to this issue. A quick search of Ram/Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler Forums shows that this is a very widespread issue affecting many vehicles. This presents a major safety issue, especially since it is considered an important safety feature preventing my vehicle from being inspected. This issue needs addressed ASAP by the company and repaired promptly.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 2500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked and running, she opened the front driver's side door and stepped on the running board with her body between the front driver's side door and the vehicle frame. The vehicle lunged forward independently, turned to the left and crashed into the front end of the passenger's side of the unoccupied vehicle parked next to it. The contact became trapped between the two vehicles and pinned between the driver's side door and the frame of her vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was squeezing continuously as if it had shifted into drive. The contact attempted to honk the horn by extending the keys on her left arm but was unsuccessful and started screaming for help. Two individuals arrived at the scene but could not unlock the door and were unable to break the front passenger's side window to unlock the door in order to extract the contact. The contact squeezed her body and reached out the unlock button on the driver's side door, and she unlocked the door. One of the individual got inside the vehicle, shifted into reverse and reversed slowly in order to release and extract the contact. The vehicle was parked. The contact was then extracted but was knocked unconscious. The contact was airlifted to the hospital where she was informed that she had sustained six broken ribs, damaged clavicle required surgery, damaged lungs due to squeezing, squeezed organs to one side of her abdomen, bruises on both glutes and bruised hips. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the local collision center. The collision center informed the contact that the driver's side frame of the vehicle she was squeezed against was dented, which showed the severity of the squeezing. The local Chrysler dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
I was involved in a single vehicle accident due to a medical issue. I hit a utility pole, took out a cyclone fence, proceeded across a front yard of a home then almost directly into a block retaining wall. I was wearing my seat belt. My airbags did not deploy but I have no idea how fast I was going. From the damage to the pole and the wall and my truck I had to be going a decent speed. The police report noted that when they arrived my foot was on the accelerator and the back wheels were spinning for what that’s worth.
Fuel gauge not accurate, reporting half a tank when the tank is full. Fuel gauge not working appropriately. Truck has 47,000 miles.
There has been an open recall on this vehicle since August 2021. It was reported to be by the dealership this is at that this was due to have a remedy to fix the SABIC in the 4th Quarter of 2021. IT has yet to have a remedy pushed out. I was also told that the Y55 recall is grouped together with the Y63 Recall. I agreed with the dealership in October of 2021 that I would purchase this vehicle, and they told me the recall remedy would be out the following month. I have been patiently waiting with no resolution from RAM, MOPAR or Chrysler. I have contacted the dealership several times a week, and they keep telling my that MOPAR has been contact by them and they are not returning phone calls. This can not be sold until it is fixed, due to a Stop Sale Issued with the Recall Notice.
It seems that this is a common problem on these trucks the HCU for the antilock braking system and the ABS module has to be replaced the traction control light comes on the ABS light comes on and the cruise control does not work.
My truck will shift in to gear without the key being in or the truck being on. I found a recall (T79) listed but my vin does not seem to be listed under this recall.
The tailgate still falls open unexpectedly while driving after the tailgate recall repair was done.. The tailgate fell open and hit my camper power jack and dented the tailgate above the handle.. I'd like the tailgate latch to be fixed correctly and the dent fixed as well.. im afraid to haul anything in the back that could potentially fall or slide out due to this issue..
Engine running rough. I drive daily on the freeway and pull a trailer, it is not safe to drive on a busy freeway or any road ( I am a self-employed contractor who now has to rent a truck). Both I took to an independent service center and authorized Crysler Dealer. Check engine light came on November 30th. P219A - Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance PERMANENT. It was starting on and off. The truck was purchased from Holz Dealership in 2019 and financed for $35,967.63. Nothing was disclosed about engine issues.
My transmission got so hot climing up a hill it caught the excused on fire, thankfully had water in the truck an put the fire out no warnings nothing, just flush transmission hot went to stop an realized it was on fire, had to have transmission rebuilt an cooler lines an cooler repaired, still not runing right.
Engine Fan / Radiator Shroud. During hot weather and engine temperature, the engine fan engaged. Due to the high ambient, I believe the radiator shroud was hot and the material was soft, it became deformed under the vacuum created by the fan cause it to interfere with the engine fans path of rotation. The interference caused the fan and shroud to shred each other sending shrapnel in all directions, including into the back side of the radiator, engine compartment. Plastic debris was found on top of the valve cover, battery, radiator, exhaust manifold. This problem has been reported by numerus online forms. This failure was inspected by the dealer and I was informed it was not under warranty, but drivable and safe. Their recommendation however was to replace the fan, shroud and radiator. However, they have seen cases with far worse damage causing catastrophic failure of the radiator leaving the vehicle stranded
For the longest (approximately two years now), my backup camera would "go out" sometimes when I engage reverse, or it would show squiggly lines to where I can't use it. This happens quite often - especially when I need it. The truck is available for inspection upon request and I also have videos of the issue. For a truck of the height, I'm not able to see objects, animals or people when backing up from a stop. I took it too a dealer near me and they inspected the system and found nothing wrong. But the same problem persist. There are no warning lamps or lights when this happens. Pictures are attached for reference.

driving down Interstate 75 going 70 mph my 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 stalled. I had to pull over and i sat on the side of the road for 30 minutes before my truck would start back up. I made it back to Ocala and it stalled again. I waited 30 minutes and it started back up. The next day i dropped my truck off at Phillips Dodge Ocala FL. Phillips diagnosed that my TPIM needs to be replaced. I started doing research on the TPIM and noticed 2007-2015 the Dodge Rams 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 all had a recall. How is it my 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 is having the same exact issues as the previous models? Why is my 2016 not covered under this recall?

The tail gate keeps opening on its own. It opened while towing our boat. It opened while driving home with groceries. It keeps happening but my vin has not been included in the safety recall please explain why?
After buying new tire. I had an alignment done. in order to align the vehicle i was told the draglink was welded in solid and because of that it makes the steering wheel off center. It is a $500+ dollar fix with custom parts. I feel this could be a problem and safety issue.
recall number 19V021000 was performed to correct drag link jam nuts loosening. took truck in to get alignment done and the reapir shop wants to charge $700 dollars for replacement drag link because they cannot adjust draglink due to previous recall. this is unacceptable and should have never been a permeant fix and now forcing consumers to pay for something that should have been fixed the right way. i am suprised that a class action lawsuit hasnt been brought on by this
Signal to 5th wheel brakes failed then a light to service electronic brake system came on and the electronic stability control failed. I was on a grade and barely stopped with all 4 wheels smoking. Trailer was well under the factory weight for towing capacity. CHP and local sheriff stopped but didn’t make a report. If it had failed 100 yards later I probably wouldn’t be sending in this complaint alive and well. I truly believe it’s a RAM issue and needs to be resolved before other trucks have this issue. Dodge can’t get to the fix for a few weeks so I’m stuck without a vehicle

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 60 MPH WHEN THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WARNING LIGHTS FLASHED ON, THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE SEIZED UP FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE. VEHICLE SKIDDED TO A HALT AND WAS NO LONGER DRIVE-ABLE DUE TO THE BRAKES BEING COMPLETELY SEIZED. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THE SUDDEN STOP AND INABILITY TO FULLY CONTROL THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE COULD ALSO NOT BE MOVED FURTHER FROM THE ROADSIDE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET BROKE CAUSING THE FRONT HUB BEARING TO BLOW APART WHICH LED TO DAMAGE OF THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THE LEFT FRONT ROTORS WERE DAMAGED FROM THE HEAT OF LOCKING UP.
THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL 17V821000 POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:COLUMN SHIFT. I JUST BOUGHT THIS TRUCK AND WAS CLEANING IT WHEN MY KIDS PULLED ON THE SHIFTER IN THE DRIVEWAY AND IT CAME OUT OF PARK WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO DODGE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO RECALL AND WOULD NOT HONOR ANYTHING ON LINE THAT I HAD FOUND.

WHEN DRIVING MY 2016 RAM 2500 THERE IS WOBBLE OR SEVERE VIBRATION. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I SOMETIMES HAVE TO FIGHT WITH THE STEERING. IT FEELS LIKE IT IS EFFECTING THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IN RESPONSE TO THE DRAG LINK RECALL THE DEALER HAS WELDED THE DRAG LINK IN PLACE PREVENTING IT FROM BEING ALIGNED. ON JULY14, 2019 I CALLED OURISMAN DODGE RAM JEEP OF BOWIE MARYLAND AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR FOR JULY 23, 2019 AT 8:20 HOURS. I ARRIVE SLIGHTLY EARLY AND WAS CONFRONTED BY AN UNKNOWN SERVICE REP WHO TOLD ME THAT I COULD NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ACCEPTING OR SCHEDULING ANY RECALL REPAIRS ON THE RAM TRUCKS. MY TRAILER IS A 34 FOOT TRAILER MANUFACTURED IN 2016. THE TRAILER WOKS CORRECTLY WHEN TOWED BY MY FRIEND'S TRUCK AND THE TRAILER DEALERSHIP TOW VEHICLE. THE BRAKE CONTROLLER BARELY APPLIES A SLIGHT DRAG TO THE TRAILER BRAKES AT ALL SPEEDS. NOTE THE REPLACEMENT IS NOT WELDED, SUPER GLUED OR DUCK TAPED FIX. THE WELDING OF THE DRAG LINK WOULD REQUIRE IT TO BE CUT TO BE ADJUSTED AND THEN REWELDED. IF ANY FUTURE REPAIRS ARE REQUIRED A REPUTABLE REPAIR SHOP WILL NOT WORK ON THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE POORLY DESIGNED FIX. ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 27, 2019 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE A METAL ON METAL SOUND. I WAS UNSURE IF THE SOUND CAME FROM MY VEHICLE OR A PASSING VEHICLE. AS I GOT AT OR AROUND 2 MILES FROM THAT LOCATION MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND I HEAR A LOUD POPPING NOISE. THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK BEGAN VIOLENTLY BOUNCING UP AND DOWN. THAT'S FINE AND DANDY BUT WHEN YOU DO THAT YOU CAN NOT USE THE DEFROST WITCH IS A PROBLEM IN THE RIGHT WEATHER CONDITIONS BECAUSE THE WINDOWS WILL FOG UP. AFTER 2 HOURS OF DRIVING WITH THE TRUCK WELL HEATED INSIDE MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW POPPED AND BELIEVE THAT THE WINDOW TRACK IS MOVING WITHOUT THE WINDOW. HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR SINCE I COULD HAND THE GUARD MY ID THROUGH THE WINDOW. I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY MODEL AND YEAR TRUCK SO I KNOW THAT I AM NOT ALONE. APPARENTLY THE DESIGN OF THE WINDOW CLIPS AND TRACK ASSEMBLY IS DIFFERENT THEN THE YEARS PRIOR. THE CLIPS ARE FLIMSY AND SOMETIMES BREAK. INTERMITTENT DIESEL EXHAUST ENTERS VEHICLE WHEN USING HEATER. THIS OCCURS WHEN DRIVING, ENGINE TEMPERATURE NORMAL, DIESEL EXHAUST WILL ENTER THROUGH HEATER VENTS. IT STOPS IF THE HEATER IS TURNED OFF AND DOES NOT OCCUR WHEN HEATER IS TURNED IN A FEW MINUTES NOR MAY IT REOCCUR FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME. IT IS BAD ENOUGH TO CAUSE A HEADACHE. I HAD MARKED IT AFTER THE ALIGNMENT SO I WAS ABLE TO REALIGN IT AND I COATED IT IN OIL BASE PAINT AND CRANKED IT TOGETHER WITH TWO 24' PIPE WRENCH'S. I KNOW MY VEHICLE VERY WELL AND IF I HAD NOT NOTICED THIS IT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A DIFFERENT OUTCOME. OF COURSE NOW IT WILL PROBABLY NEVER COME APART BUT I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO TRUST IT. REPAIR ORDER 17572 WAS COMPLETED AND IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE A LOOSE LEFT INNER TIE ROD LOCK NUT LOOSE. IT WAS INSPECTED, REPAIRED AND ALIGNED. INITIALLY WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR, BUT LATTER RECEIVED CREDIT, ON 13 SEP 18 IT WAS AGAIN FOUND TO HAVE A LOOSE LOCK NUT, IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY WITH 26498 MILES. AS A PRECAUTION IT WAS BROUGHT BACK TO WOODSTOCK GARAGE TO HAVE THE FRONT END INSPECTED UNDER RO 19288 MILES 28224. RO INDICATES ALL STEERING COMPONENTS WERE TIGHT.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT 35 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST MY BRAKES. I HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR AND ENDED UP ON THE SIDEWALK. I THEN PUSHED MY EMERGENCY BRAKE IN TO STOP. CRACKS ALLOWED BATTERY ACID AND FUMES TO ESCAPE (BOTH CORROSION HAZARD, BREATHING HAZARD, AND EXPLOSIVE FUME SITUATION). THESE ARE OEM BATTERIES, LEFT IN ITS ORIGINAL STATE SINCE PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER.

DODGE/RAM HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND IT HAS BECOME THE "NORMAL" FOR THEIR TRUCKS, BUT THIS THE SLACK IN THE STEERING COLUMN IS HARDLY ACCEPTABLE. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY DRIVE WITH MY STEERING AT 10 O'CLOCK TO DRIVE STRAIGHT (EVEN AFTER ALIGNMENTS) AND QUICKLY ADJUST 3-4 INCHES TO ADJUST RIGHT IF IT SUDDENLY STARTS PULLING THE OTHER WAY. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY GET MY STEERING ALIGNED AS THE LEFT FRONT TIRE'S TOE GOES OUT EVERY 6-9 MONTHS CAUSING THE TRUCK TO PULL RIGHT VERY HARD WHEN BRAKING. IT IS A CONSTANT "HIGH-ALERT" STATUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE SLIGHTEST WIND CHANGE, PAVEMENT TEXTURE, OR EVEN MOTORCYCLE PASSING IS ENOUGH TO MAKE THE STEERING SHIFT FROM PULLING RIGHT TO PULLING LEFT. THIS THROWS ME INTO THE LEFT LANE SOMETIMES, WHICH PUTS MY LIFE AND THOSE AROUND ME AT RISK. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW TRUCK AND WAS DOING IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I THOUGH NOTHING OF IT AS IT WAS STILL IN WARRANTY BIT SEVERAL RAM DEALERSHIPS IN MULTIPLE STATES HAVE SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND THAT IT IS "NORMAL." I FIND THAT CHRYSLER IS NEGLIGENT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND PUT PEOPLE'S LIVES ON THE LINE. I HAVE A 2017 RAM 1500 FOR MY COMPANY WORK TRUCK AND IT DOES THE EXACT SAME THING, BUT PULLS THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. IT ONLY HAS 5000 MILES WHEN IT STARTED DEVELOPING SLACK IN THE STEERING. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO SPEND THE EXTRA .02 CENTS PER VEHICLE TO PUT A RELIABLE STEERING VIBRATION DAMPER IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE MORE I RESEARCH, THE MORE I FIND THAT THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR DECADES ACROSS MULTIPLE GENERATIONS OF RAM TRUCKS. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS FOR THIS RECKLESS DISREGARD FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DRIVE THEIR TRUCKS. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED, ABOUT 50% OF THEIR TRUCKS DEVELOP THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEM IS NOTICEABLE WHILE STATIONARY, AND DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS. WORSE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WHILE PULLING LOADS.

I HAD DRIVE MY 2016 RAM 2500 MEGA CAB CUMMINS DIESEL 4X4 TO A PLACE ON A SLIGHT DECLINE. I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK (COLUMN SHIFT) AND LEFT THE TRUCK RUNNING. I HAD NOT APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS I NOTICED THE TRUCK BEGINNING TO ROLL DOWNHILL. I LOOKED AT THE GEAR INDICATOR AND NOTICED IT WAS IN PARK. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK STOPPED. I RELEASED THE BRAKE AND IT BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD AGAIN. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AGAIN AND THE TRUCK STOPPED. I GRABBED THE GEAR SELECTOR AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND THEN MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR THROUGH REVERSE, NEUTRAL AND DRIVE AND COULD FEEL THE VEHICLE TORQUE WITH EACH GEAR CHANGE. I PLACED THE SELECTOR BACK IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED SLIGHTLY AND THEN STOPPED AS IT NORMALLY DOES. MY VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO SAID THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM, INCLUDING THE TEST FOR THE BRAKE INTERLOCK THAT WAS RECALLED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM, PERHAPS WITH THE PARKING PAWL NOT ENGAGING ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS.

THE TAILGATE ON MY 2016 RAM 2500 POWER WAGON HAS FALLEN OPEN THREE SEPERATE TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I MADE SURE IT WAS FULLY SHUT BY PULLING/TUGGING ON THE TAILGATE. ALL THREE INCIDENTS OCCURED IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENTERING THE TRUCK AND WHILE ACCELERATING. THE TRUCK WAS MOVING JUST UNDER 30MPH.

PURCHASED A 2016 DODGE RAM 2500 TURBO DIESEL LARAMIE, NEW, RETURNED THE TRUCK DUE TO A VIBRATION BAD ENOUGH THE SEATS, HOOD, REAR BED SHOOK. IT WAS BAD ENOUGH I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO HAVE THE SHAKING STOP. THEN WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY THE ONLY SAFE DRIVING SPEEDS WHERE UNDER 62 AND OVER 80. ANYTHING IN BETWEEN CAUSED THE TRUCK TO SHAKE. SO, THE TRUCK SAT IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE ONLY TIME I DROVE THE TRUCK WAS WHEN I HAD TO AND EVEN THEN, I WOULD ONLY DRIVE IT ON THE BACK ROADS DUE TO THE SHAKING. TRUCK AS BEEN BACK 4 TIMES FOR OVER A TOTAL OF 30 DAYS TO WORK ON TRUCK WITH NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. SHAKING STARTS AT 62 MPH AND UP, 72 MPH BEING THE WORSE. *TR

PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDDLE AND STARTED SHIFTING LANES. THE TRUCK WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, NOT EVEN A LITTLE. AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE 2-3 SECONDS IT STARTED TO ACCELERATE, AND BY THEN THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS GETTING VERY CLOSE TO MY REAR BUMPER. I DIDN'T PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE. ANYWAY, I'M GOING TO THE DODGE DEALER AND HAVING A FORMAL NOTE PUT INTO MY FILE ABOUT THE PROBLEM. HAVE HAD THE TRUCK 2 WEEKS. NOT HAPPY AND THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. DEAD PEDAL. THIS VEHICLE WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE, RELEASING ACCELERATOR AND THEN GETTING BACK IMMEDIATELY ON THE ACCELERATOR, DOES NOT RESPOND FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. DEALER AND RAM SAYS IT IS NORMAL, BUT MANY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT IT IS AN INTENDED PROGRAMMING ISSUE THAT WAS PUT IN PLACE TO HELP THE DRIVETRAIN AND/OR EMISSIONS. IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!! 2016 RAM 2500 CREW CAB 4X4 6.4 LITER V8 - MY TRUCK IS 5 MONTHS OLD WITH 4,500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM TWO TIMES SO FAR. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. THE TRUCK WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION AND SOMETIMES THE TRUCK WOULD ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN AND COULD DRIVE ITSELF ON THE ROAD (SOMETIMES SURGING). I HAVE HAD IT TOT THE DEALERSHIP TWO TIMES SO FAR. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS A BENT CLIP ON THE THROTTLE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE THROTTLE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TWO OTHER TIMES SINCE IT WAS LAST FIXED ON 8/30/2016, BUT IF YOU LET THE TRUCK SIT OVERNIGHT, THE NEXT MORNING EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE. THE PUNCH LINE IS THAT I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 169 DAYS (AS OF TODAY) AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 37 OF THOSE DAYS (SO FAR) WITH SERIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE LAST TWO ISSUES ARE SERIOUS ENOUGH THAT THE TRUCK WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE HAD IT TOWED BY RAM THE LAST TWO TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP. OUTSIDE OF THE FACT THAT THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 22% OF THE TIME I HAVE OWNED IT, I AM MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS THESE ISSUES CAUSE AND I HAVE LOST FAITH THAT THIS TRUCK CAN BE FIXED. WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS, IT COULD EASILY CAUSE AND ACCIDENT TO INCLUDE INJURY OR DEATH. THIS IS A 6,500+ POUND VEHICLE! PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM WITH RAM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR TIRES HAD A REQUIRED PRESSURE OF 80 PSI, AND THE FRONT TIRES REQUIRED A PRESSURE OF 65 PSI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRES EXCEEDED THE REQUIRED PSI, WHICH CAUSED THEM TO MOVE UP AND DOWN WHEN DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 63 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WAS UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,600 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR WINDOW MOTOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SECURE A CHILD SAFETY SEAT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE SEAT BELT CAME OUT OF THE SEAT BELT HOUSING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A TEAM FROM THE MANUFACTURER WOULD HAVE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO INSPECT THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. MY 2016 RAM HAS MAJOR THROTTLE DELAY. IT BECOMES A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN I'M PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND GET BACK ON IT AND IT WAITS 1.5 TO 2 SECONDS BEFORE THE COMPUTER RECEIVES THE COMMAND TO GIVE THROTTLE. I HAVE HAD ONE INSTANCE WHERE I WAS PROCEEDING TO CHANGE LANES ON THE INTERSTATE AND GIVE IT THROTTLE BUT IT DIDN'T RESPOND AND THEN I WAS A SITTING DUCK BECAUSE MY BRAND NEW TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO WAKE UP AND GO. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT IS VERY WELL COMPLAINED ABOUT BY MANY RAM OWNERS AND IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS WILL GET SOMEONE EITHER HURT OR KILLED AS A RESULT.
THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE FOR FRONT AXLE TIRES IS 60 PSI, WITH AXLE LOAD RATING OF 5500 POUNDS. THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE FOR REAR AXLE TIRES IS 80 PSI WITH AXLE RATING OF 6500 POUNDS. ACCORDING TO FIRESTONE, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FACTORY INSTALLED TIRES, THE PRESSURE REQUIRED FOR EVEN REAR AXLE MAX LOAD WEIGHT RATING IS 70 PSI. FOR NORMAL LOAD OF 3000 TO EVEN 5000 POUNDS ON THE REAR AXLE, 50 PSI IS MORE THAN ADEQUATE ACCORDING TO FIRESTONE. AT 50 PSI A LOAD RANGE E TIRE CAN CARRY 2680 POUNDS, GIVING AN AXLE CAPACITY OF 5360--WELL OVER THE DAILY WEIGHT FOR MOST NON-COMMERCIAL DRIVERS. OVER INFLATED TIRES NOT ONLY WEAR POORLY, THEY ARE DANGEROUS. OVER INFLATION GREATLY REDUCES THE TREAD PATCH THAT CONTACTS THE ROAD SURFACE, CAUSES EXCESSIVE AND UNNECESSARY BOUNCING, INCREASES THE RISK OF TIRE DAMAGE FROM POT HOLES, AND BASICALLY PROVIDES FOR AN UNSATISFACTORY DRIVING EXPERIENCE. I'M CERTAIN THE ENGINEERS AT RAM ARE AWARE OF THESE FACTS BECAUSE IN PREVIOUS YEARS THEY PROVIDED FOR BOTH LIGHT AND HEAVY SERVICE INFLATION. IT IS UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE AND GROSSLY NEGLIGENT FOR RAM TO RECOMMEND, AND BASICALLY REQUIRE, THAT OWNERS OPERATE THEIR 7000 POUND VEHICLES ON TIRES INFLATED TO CARRY OVER 13000 POUNDS. RAM IS CAUSING POSSIBLY MILLIONS, CERTAINLY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF TRUCK OWNERS, TO UNWITTINGLY ENDANGER THEMSELVES AND OTHERS ON HIGHWAYS AROUND THE COUNTRY WITH THESE DANGEROUS TIRE INFLATION RECOMMENDATIONS.
I WAS DOING ABOUT 50MPH DOWN A STATE ROAD WHEN A GUY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME ATTEMPTING TO GO IN THE DIRECTION I WAS COMING FROM. FACTORY INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER IS UNABLE TO SAFETY STOP A 10,000 LB TRAILER. HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE DIFFERENT TRAILERS WITH THIS TRUCK AND SAME RESULTS. TRUCK CANNOT SAFETY STOP THE TRUCK AND TRAILER COMBINATION SAFELY, THE TRAILER PUSHES THE COMBINATION THROUGH A STOPLIGHT. EVEN WITH TRAILER BRAKE SETTINGS SET AT THE MAX, STILL DOES NOT SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE. HAVE BEEN TO DEALER WITH THIS ISSUE, STATE THE THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE

MY 2016 RAM 1500 ALMOST KILLED ME THIS MORNING. TRUCK HAS 4,000 MILES ON IT. AT 4 AM I WAS DRIVING ON I-10 EAST BOUND 170 MILES FROM PENSACOLA. CRUISE WAS SET AT 78 AND I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE. THE ROAD WAS PITCH BLACK. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND ALL ELECTRICAL. HEADLIGHTS WENT DARK DASH BOARD, ETC. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS PANICKED AND MANAGED SOMEHOW TO MAKE IT TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. AFTER GETTING TO THE SHOULDER EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULD NOT WORK EVERYTHING WAS DEAD. JUST AS I WAS CONSIDERING GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE POWER CAME BACK ON. I PUT ON FLASHERS AND AFTER I CALMED DOWN RETURNED TO THE ROAD. THE NEXT 200 MILES WERE UNEVENTFUL. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE AFTER DARK AFTER SUCH AN INCIDENT. I HAVE A APPOINTMENT IN FOLEY ALABAMA WITH DODGE NEXT MONDAY MORNING. ALSO BACK IN MARCH I WAS WAITING ON THE LEFT TURN LANE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK ALL BY ITS SELF.

THROTTLE RESPONSE, THERE IS A HUGE DELAY BETWEEN ACTIVATING THE PEDAL AND THE ENGINE REACTING TO THAT INPUT. CROSSING A BUSY STREET FROM A STANDSTILL IS A GAMBLE WHETHER OR NOT YOU'LL ACCELERATE IN ENOUGH TIME.
PURCHASED A NEW RAM 2500 DIESEL. AFTER 1200 MILES, THE DIESEL EMISSION FLUID (DEF) GAUGE BECAME ERRATIC AND GAVE ME A MESSAGE THAT AFTER 200 MILES THE TRUCK'S MAXIMUM SPEED WOULD BE 5 MILES/HOUR. THE AM DEALER IN OLYMPIA, WA TRACED THE PROBLEM TO A COMPUTER MODULE. THIS MODULE IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO DELIVERY DATE IN SIGHT. I AM ON MY WAY TO ALASKA, AND AM STUCK IN OLYMPIA, WA FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. THE TRUCK IS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER, EXCEPT THAT IT IS PROGRAMMED TO STOP (OR GO 5MPH) AFTER 200 MILES UNLESS THE DEF PROBLEM IS FIXED.

WHEN THERE WERE NO FAILURE CODES ON MY RAM 2500.. AND.. IT FAILED AND SHUT DOWN ON THE TECH WHEN BACKING IT OUT OF THE BAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME AS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THAT WAS A WEEK AGO. IT IS STILL STUCK IN THE SAME BAY AS IT WILL NOT CRANK. PROBLEM: TIPM TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE OR PDC INTEL PWR. PART # 68243265AD IS THE PROBLEM. THE MAIN TERMINAL INPUT CARRYING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INTO THE VEHICLE IS BEING OVER TORQUED DURING MANUFACTURE. THIS IS CAUSING THE TERMINAL TO SNAP AND ONLY GIVE INTERMITTING POWER TO THE VEHICLE DURING OPERATION AND CAUSING THE TOTAL SHUT OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTERS AND SHUTDOWN OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION TO THE THIS PROBLEM WHICH COULD CAUSE POSSIBLE DEATH, THE CONSTANT ARCING OF THE COMPUTERS HAS NOW CAUSED ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS TO MY VEHICLE. THERE IS NOW A FAILURE IN THE IGNITION SWITCH MODULE PART # 68271986AA AND IT HAS A ESD OF FEB 2016. I'LL DEAL WITH MY VEHICLE.. BUT ALLOWING THESE 8000# VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THIS PROBLEM IS INEXCUSABLE WHEN DODGE RAM KNOWS THEY HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE. ....UPDATED 12/30/15 *BF UPDATED 05/21/18*JB
