AIR BAGSApril 1, 2026
My 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab truck Dash Leather Covering is coming loose from it base and may interfere with the passenger Air Bag deployment that is under the loose material. My truck has only 36,000 miles on it and has been garaged kept since I purchased it new. *I found this information online. Ram 2500 trucks (2019–2023) frequently experience dashboard leather bubbling or delamination, particularly over the passenger airbag area. This bulging can compromise airbag deployment and is caused by adhesive failure, often requiring a full dashboard replacement. I contacted my local Ram service center. They advised my to contact Ram corporate regarding this Safety Issue. Key Details Regarding the Issue: •Cause: The glue holding the leather/vinyl to the dash substrate fails, leading to bubbling and peeling, which can create a ridge over the passenger airbag deployment zone. •Safety Risk: A warped or bulging dashboard can interfere with the proper deployment of the passenger-side airbag.

Hood liner repeatedly drops down out of its mounting points on the edge near the engine firewall. This is a manufacturing engineering deficiency that relies on shaped material to hold the liner in place. The dealer has replaced it three times, and the same thing continues to happen. Chrysler refuses to address the issue. My concern is what happens if the liner completely drops down on the engine while in operation.

Def pump failed twice with this vehicle and with that it does not allow the vehicle to run any faster than 5 mph after the countdown ends. Unknown how the exhaust being plugged and service was done to clean the exhaust ended up having the fuel pump and turbo charger needing replaced. Not sure if they went hand in hand and one causing the other. So far the vehicle only has almost 78,000 miles on it. Change oil and fuel filters at the vehicles scheduled computer system reports on the vehicle. I was having issues from service center having trouble resetting the exhaust system, which they said the system was not sealing properly. Took them a couple of days to get part from dealership to get it to seal and reprocessed the test which they said passed exhaust reset. That would explain the poor fuel rating of only getting 9 miles per gallon. If there was a complete fuel pump failure, not sure if that would compare to this being a safety issue. Not sure how engine would react, due to it completely failing or if the turbo would cause the vehicle to be unsafe. The vehicle is currently at dealership and only 1 out of the 3 are even available to fix this problem. Def pump is available, but unknown when the others will arrive. Service shop said it could be 3 weeks or 8 months for parts to come in. Due to being a back ordered item. Spent $70k for this vehicle, just to have it spend over 2 months in the shop. I do my own oil and fuel filter changes, due to it being faster and cheaper than any dealer or shop.

Subject: Fuel System Failure Resulting in Engine Damage – 2020 RAM 2500 Pickup VIN: [XXX] Complaint Summary: I am submitting this complaint to formally report a dangerous and costly fuel system defect in my 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup (VIN: [XXX] ) that has resulted in catastrophic engine damage. Although Chrysler has issued a recall for the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) in many 2020 Ram trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins engine, I was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall—even though it exhibits all the classic symptoms of HPFP failure. This is a safety hazard and a potential emissions violation. Details of the Incident: In June 2025, I brought my truck to Tracy Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM after experiencing engine misfires, loss of power, and a knocking noise. The dealership diagnosed a P0303 cylinder misfire and noted a fuel smell in the engine oil, as documented in repair order #[XXX]. Despite extensive diagnostic work—including compression tests, leak-down, and injector swaps—the misfire remained unresolved, and a tapping noise persisted. The technician explicitly noted fuel contamination in the oil and suspected internal engine damage due to a fuel system issue. To further investigate, I submitted an oil sample to Blackstone Laboratories. The lab confirmed the engine oil was heavily diluted with diesel fuel—over 10% fuel contamination, which reduced the viscosity from 5W40 to the equivalent of 5W20. This is consistent with HPFP failure leaking fuel into the crankcase. The oil report also noted excessive steel wear and recommended immediate oil change and fuel system inspection. At no time was a check engine light present, nor was there a clear diagnostic code for HPFP failure. Chrysler continues to deny responsibility even though the evidence clearly points to a failed HPFP—a well-documented issue for this engine model and year. The cost of diagnosis and parts alone has exceeded $4,000, and the engine is likely destroy INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Ram and it's parent company know there is an issue with the brake systems on their 3/4 ton pickup trucks. The 2500's. There is excessive travel in the brake petal and not enough pressure builds up in the system to activate the brakes correctly and adequately. It's all over the ram 2500 online forums. Many people are experiencing this issue with new trucks. Ram and its parent company Stellantis are unwilling to do anything about it.

The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the diesel particulate filter had failed due to the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure, which caused metal shavings to enter the fuel system. The dealer determined that the HPFP and the entire fuel system needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer had offered to partially cover the repair cost through goodwill assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V880000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the recall repair failed to fix the failure. I was in the middle lane of traffic doing roughly 75 mph when my passenger side front tire lost all pressure and shredded apart which nearly caused me to slam into the side of a tractor/trailer. After looking over the tire/wheel to determine what caused the failure I noticed the side of the valve stem had blown out. This is the second valve stem where the side of the stem blew out. After researching online it appears this is a recurring problem although something I have never experienced in 30+ years of driving. My name is [XXX]. I have a 2020 Ram Laramie. I purchased the truck June 2nd 2022. So then, my truck did not come with a fitting spare tire. Currently I have 40/13.5r17 on the vehicle. That the manufacturer placed with this truck when I purchased it. The spare that came with the truck, is a 18 inch spare. That doesn’t fit my truck. Also it’s a major safety hazard. I have notified the dealership and they state "NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME" when I had it in for service. They are saying I would need to leave my vehicle with them so they can try and replicate it. Being this does not always happen, my vehicle could be with them for a long period of time and not sure how they would replicate it without driving it all day for days/weeks on end. I have had this issue for over a year. I just took my vehicle in for a 30,000 mile service which included a throttle body service. This particular service has not remedied the issue (if it were something to do with that).

RECALL IS NOT BEING COMPLETD IN A TIMELY MANNER. We have not had any incidents but we have been waiting since August of 2022 for the dealer to receive the parts to complete the recall. We have been told that we are on a waiting list and we're actually on the waiting list at 2 different locations. I read online that I should file a complaint if the recall is not completed in a timely manner. We are driving the vehicle with the risks these recalls pose and do not want to have to go through any incident or accidents.

On the date of 11/11/2022 the vehicle experienced an electrical fire in the engine compartment. This happened after the vehicle completed a heater grid cycle before starting remotely. All signs of the fire from photographs clearly show the fire starting from the ground bolt location of the heater grid. This seems to be a common issue when researching forums among other owners of the same vehicle with the same engine options. There were no warning lights or other indications of a problem with the vehicle before this happened. Thankfully I keep a fire extinguisher in my vehicle and was able to save the vehicle. It is currently at a dealership awaiting parts and further confirmation of the fire source.

This complaint is regarding NHTSA Recall #21V-880, or Manufacturers recall # Y78 safety recall regarding main fuel pump replacement on my 2020 Dodge Ram truck with a Cummins diesel engine. I brought this recall to the attention of my servicing dealer in Feb of 2022. They advised due to Covid manufacturing delays, it would be a long time before my truck would be repaired. I spoke with them yesterday, Nov 7-22, they advised I am still number 40 on the list and that they are only allowed to order one pump per week. This process is unacceptable. I have not been driving the truck due to the potential safety concern of a failed pump causing loss of power and potential accident in traffic. I have found out thru dealer sources that there are 371 of these pumps in parts depot in Portland Oregon, 2 hrs from my house. So it doesn't seem there is a shortage of these parts, as there are several parts depots across the nation with these stocked. This is a consumer safety issue that should be addressed in a timely manner. It seems that it is being treated as a convenience issue. Please advise, thank you.

I believe the failure of this pump creates a likely situation of causing death and/or injury that would make this more critical than a 10 month wait. Is there any legal remedies to get FCA and Cummins to perform their repairs timely? I made an appointment and gave the recall # and made arrangements for transportation as repair will take more than one day. At no time was I informed of the backlog. This should have been communicated by NHTSA, FCA, and LH Miller. The tailgate on this truck has opened 11 times now while driving down the road. I take it to the dealer and they do nothing about it and say none of their diagnostics show anything. I have researched this problem and for the past consecutive years prior to this year's model, the same issue has been recalled. This last time it happened, it came down while pulling a trailer which bent the tailgate and items fell out of the back of the truck. I took it back to the dealer who stated the same thing and said they would order some parts to replace as they said they have had issues with the (I believe they said right side) bolts or mechanism with precious years but have never contacted me back. Now it continues to open and I have a bent tailgate because of it. Yet no one will do anything about it without me having to pay when it should be warrantied or possibly recalled as obviously the issue in 2020 models is still not corrected. 6/13/2022 was the last time it happened, but it started in January of 2021 and has opened 11 times to date.

See dealer exhaust system exhaust required was on the display. This happened with me , wife, 2 year old and 6 year old in the truck. It just felt and sounded as if the truck dropped gears and slowed down in the middle of high traffic with big rigs on a busy interstate. I put on hazard immediately to warn the trucks behind me. Do to immediate loss of power and limp acceleration. As I tried to assess the situation safely and quickly as possible , I nearly got rear ended by several big rigs as they tried one by one to avoid me at the last second. Me and my family are safe but I am in shock still as we managed to get out of the way regained my composure to get my family safely off to the next ramp when traffic slowed to avoid having my family in high traffic danger. This issue is a severe danger to the general public and anyone in the road with this type of malfunction. I as so many other families who were in the same situation, stranded and barely avoided serious and substantial injuries and death. If this was due to the cp4 system, I would have these rigs of the road asap. I also had the dealership ,before, I left Nevada,to go and get my new concession trailer in Georgia had the fuel filters changed. The oil and filters changed, an update for the truck and asked and arranged for the new cpu unit to be installed. I also asked the dealership mechanic if it was advisable to drive out to Georgia to get my food truck and he said yes. I’m not sure if this is the issue, but my research point to this direction. There are forum on this. With stories like mine and the outrageous safety hazards this has caused. It is a defect that needs immediate action. This defect does not trump my family’s life or any other innocent lives. This puts me and my family out of a truck to get to Georgia to pull my concession trailer back home. We are literally stuck and stranded in Missouri. This defect has put me and my family in a vulnerable position which could be a serious hazard to us thanx

While driving up snow covered inclined driveway. Truck started to spin and stopped going forward. Starting to slide backwards the engine shut off and I lost power steering and power brakes. Managed to re-start while sliding backwards but the engine shut off again resulting in a sideways crash into a tree. Thus causing $5000.00 truck damage but no bodily injury. My insurance covers damage but I am out a $500.00 deductible. The engine shutting off happened the year before but I was able to stop the slide in time. I just received a recall ("Z20/NHTSA 22-140") and I'm not sure if that problem is a cause of my incident. I did not notice any warning indications during or before the incident. On 1/21/2022 I was driving from Grand Junction CO, to my home in Broomfield CO. Halfway through the 250 mile trip, I received a warning 'Low DEF'. I looked at my DEF tank gauge as soon as I got the message - it read 1/4 tank. A couple minutes pass and another message displays - Service Diesel Exhaust System - See Dealer and my truck immediately loses power and dies when i'm in the fast lane - Eastbound I-70 to Denver. I pulled into the slow lane and finally off the side of the interstate. I did not go into limp mode, never received the countdown message '250 Miles Until Limp Mode', and the truck would not start once I was on the side of the interstate. It died just West of Vail Colorado. The weather was approx 25 degrees and snowing. I then contacted CFA Roadside Assistance, which came with my purchase. After speaking with a representative, I was told a tow truck was on the way. I was then told I needed to get a Taxi to pick me up on the interstate, because I wouldn't be allowed to ride with the tow driver to safety. The tow never came. I called CFA a second time, 4 hours later and spoke with a second representative that told me the tow had been canceled. I was never notified of the tow cancelation and was told CFA would arrange for a second tow. They never arranged a second tow, and still haven't reached out to check on my condition. I'm going to reiterate, I was left in freezing, snowing conditions in the Rocky Mountaints with no way to start my truck and no assistance from the Roadside assistance program I've paid for w/the vehicle purchase. In a desperate attempt I returned to my vehicle with DEF fluid hoping adding additional DEF would allow me to start the vehicle. My safety was put at risk trying to fill the DEF tank on a blind interstate curve, in snow and icy conditions, with semi's passing two feet away. I was not able to restart the truck after adding DEF. Now my truck as at RAM Silverthorne, and they won't look at it until 2/17/2022.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled as an exhaust warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to coast the vehicle off of the freeway and shut off the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where they discovered that metal shavings had entered the fuel line caused by a defective high-pressure fuel pump. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer and the contact obtained a rental vehicle. Two months later, the contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V880000 (Fuel System, Diesel) which he linked to the failure; however, parts for the recall repair were unavailable. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure on multiple occasions but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was unavailable.

When I unlock my truck and enter, my odometer adds hundreds of miles to the mileage.l have a video recording of this happening and I made a few screen shots to upload in this form. It has been happening since I bought the used truck but I wasn't fast enough to record it until today. If Ram is doing this to all it's trucks, this could be as big as the Volkswagen diesel scandal. Imagine shortening the warranty mileage of all Ram vehicles to increase repair income!

The trailer electrical plug located on the sidewall in the bed of the truck was not connected at the factory. 2nd visit to dodge dealership, While towing a trailer with the trailer electrical plug in use, the trailer breaks keep going out, I am driving down the road and the dash warning comes on saying the trailer breaks are disconnected. When trying to stop, at first I will not have trailer breaks, so I have to bare down on the truck brakes to stop the trailer, then the trailer brakes start working and jerks the truck back. Also, when not towing a trailer the dash warning comes on saying incompatible trailer?? No trailer is plugged in. At the dealership all day, they are telling me nothing is wrong. It is NOT the 5th wheel trailer, I spent $1,200 on new brakes, electrical and plug for trailer. It is the truck.

Summary - 2020 RAM 2500 CP4 Fuel Pump failure We departed on Saturday Oct 16, 2020, for a trip from our home in Raleigh NC to Florida for our 35th anniversary. The truck sputtered then stalled on the side of interstate 95 (southbound) in South Carolina about 60 miles from the Georgia border. We were towed to the nearest RAM dealership (Butler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM) in Beaufort, SC. The earliest we could get a rental was the following Wednesday (10/20) so decided to stay nearby at a local beach. We came back through on Friday to finally get our rental and returned home. Today is 11/4 and we still don't have our truck. I was told the problem was the CP4 Fuel Pump. Apparently it disintegrated (their words) and threw metal shavings all through the fuel system. They told me they had to change everything from the fuel tank all the way to the injectors. The last of the parts are supposed to be in later today, so am looking at driving the 5 hours back down to Beaufort SC this or next weekend to pick up the truck depending on when the repairs are made.

I was driving my truck on 10/26 approximately 9 am when the engine made a loud knocking noise and then proceed to make a erratic clanking noise. The truck proceeded to completely shut off while driving, rendering me unable to control the vehicle as all systems shut down. There were no warning lights present or any other warning signs. It coasted to a stop on the side of the road. The safety of myself and anyone around me was at high risk as I had no ability to control the vehicle. The vehicle only has 12,000 miles on it so I had it towed to the closest dealership, Autostar of Hendersonville NC. It took a week to get a diagnosis because their solitary diesel tech was on vacation. They offered my no loaner vehicle and FCA has not made an adequate offer to cover the full cost of a loaner vehicle. The diagnosis on the vehicle was a high pressure fuel pump failure. I currently have not ETA on parts and no vehicle to drive. It is my understanding that NHTSA is already investigating this issue. Multiple attempts made to get help with a loaner vehicle, an ETA on parts/install have all been met with deflection from dealership and FCA customer care representatives. Any attempt made to inquire if the new fuel pump/system has been adequately updated to ensure this wont happen again has not been answered. Any attempt made to inquire if this issue has cause long lasting damage to the engine has not been answered. This is a serious problem and needs to be remedied. FCA needs to step up and take care of its customers.

On 10/23/21, I was driving my 2020 Ram 2500, Diesel Cummins Pick Up/Crew Cab LIMITED, I purchased brand new in July, 2020, my vehicle has approximately 27,000 miles, this past weekend on the freeway during my return home, the truck slowed completely, no power to the engine. I received a message one the screen "Exhaust System Service Required See Dealer." Complete loss of power for no reason. Again, because the truck had no power. I called a towing service and had the truck towed to the Dodge / Ram dealership where the truck was purchased. Later on 10/28/21, I learned that the NHTSA had opened an investigation to the Ram 2500 regarding the fuel propulsion system and the dealership said no recalls were listed on my truck. The NHTSA officially noted their investigation of the 2018-2020 Ram trucks, including this model with the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine on their website. According the NHTSA website, on 10/29/21, there have been 18 reports of fuel / propulsion systems. Without the fuel pump, specifically the CP4 the fuel pump system, diesel engines do not function in longevity as the should. As of 10/29/21, Dodge /Ram, the dealership who sold and currently has my truck for diagnostic purposes and repairs, has yet to provide documentation as to exactly what happened to make the brand new truck stop running. They have provided minimal communication, nothing in writing. I am under the understanding that regardless, if the repair is made on my truck, this fuel pump system failure issue with Ram was first reported in 2019, Dodge/Ram has allowed for these trucks to be sold with knowing the potential issue existed. These trucks must be repaired or otherwise returned to the dealership/ manufacturer for full purchased price.

My driver was driving 25mph when the whole dash and interior lights started flashing and the dash said electric steering was unavailable and 4wd disabled and braking disabled , the truck could not be steered or braked , my driver had to use the emergency brake to stop the truck and gooseneck trailer attached . The electrical disabled all electrical braking including trailer brakes and steering and 4wd . The transmission is also randomly doing a hard downshift into 4th gear and slamming him into the dash and will be stuck in that gear .

On 10/21/21, I was driving my 2020 Ram 2500, Diesel Cummins pick up/crew cab Big Horn purchased brand new, this year on the freeway during commute hours and the truck stopped completely, no power to the engine and without warning. Complete loss of power for no reason. I called a towing service and had the truck towed to the Dodge dealership where the truck was purchased. Again, because the truck had no power. Later in the morning of 10/21/21, I learned that the NHTSA had opened an investigation to the Ram 2500 regarding the fuel propulsion system and the dealership said no recalls were listed on my truck. On 10/14/21, the NHTSA officially noted their investigation of the 2018-2020 Ram trucks, including this model with the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine on their website. According to an announcement by NHTSA Oct. 14, there have been 22 reports of pumps failing on the website. Without the fuel propulsion system, diesel engines don't run. As of 10/27/21, McPeek Dodge, the dealership who sold and currently has my truck for diagnostic purposes and repairs, has yet to provide documentation as to exactly what happened to make the brand new truck stop running. They have provided minimal communication, but not in writing. I am under the understanding that regardless of if the repair is made on my truck or this issue, this fuel propulsion system failure issue with Ram was first reported in 2019 and Chrysler allowed for these trucks to be sold, knowingly this potential issue still existed. Not only should these trucks be fixed, but full proof that they are diagnostically fixed, safe and of the same product originally sold should be options for these vehicles, otherwise they should be bought back in full by the manufacturer.

I was pulling a 10k lb trailer from California to Arkansas. While passing a semi truck my vehicle lost engine power and left me without power steering or brakes. I was luckily able to make it to the right shoulder, vehicle would not start. Dealership found the Bosch CP4 injection pump to have failed at 15,000 miles. I am lucky to have been traveling in an area of Texas where I did not have too much traffic or this even could have been much worse.

We were traveling SE on I-30, in the passing lane, doing approximately 75 MPH when the vehicle started shuttering. It was subtle at first, then became more violent. The engine lost power and we had to do an emergency lane change with no engine power, no power steering, no power brakes. We then coasted to the shoulder with traffic passing us and behind us speeding by. Luckily we were near an exit and we barely had enough momentum to get away from traffic. We were lucky to change lanes and exit without getting into a collision with other traffic because we went from highway speed to slow very quickly and had to change lanes and exit. It was the high pressure CP4.2 fuel pump failure the dealer eventually informed us. They also said this is a common problem and they had several other failures just like this.

I was driving on the freeway when the truck suddenly began surging the throttle. I began to make my way to the shoulder. By the time I was in the shoulder the truck lost all power. I came to a stop and the engine began shuddering and bogging down before I was able to safely shut it off. Fortunately traffic was light and I didn’t have a trailer, this could have been very dangerous had I needed to accelerate and lost all power to the truck. Dealer diagnosed with a failed CP4 injection pump, a know issue for this model year.

Vehicle has 26,689 mile and after driving for 30 minutes slowed came to a complete stop due to on coming traffic to make a left turn. Went down the road and the Transmission ( Auto) did not seem like it went in to 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 gear. The tach was over 3,000 RPMs and I let off the gas and pressed down again and tach went up again and transmission never shift to higher gear. Lucky that was my street and I tried to get it to shift by gas peddle up and down and it never went higher gear and I took tach up to 5,500 RPMs plus and it never tried to get out of third gear I guess.

THE 2019 TO 2020 MODEL YEAR RAM 2500 HEAVY DUTY EQUIPPED WITH A 6.7L CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE HAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE A STALL AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE BOSCH CP4.2 FUEL INJECTION PUMP HAS A VERY HIGH RATE OF SUDDEN FAILURE LEADING TO IMMEDIATE STOPPAGE ON THE ENGINE AND ENGINE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE PUMP DESTROYS ITSELF AND TAKES OUT THE REST OF THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM LEADING TO REPAIRS IN THE $20,000 USD RANGE. FCA & RAM HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REVISE THE PUMP IN LATE (JULY) 2020 TO SOLVE THE ISSUE BUT THE FAILURES KEEP OCCURRING. FOR THE 2021 MODEL YEAR, FCA & RAM HAVE CHANGED THE PUMP ENTIRELY AND REVERTED BACK TO USING AN OLDER, SAFER, MORE RELIABLE DESIGN. NO PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS OF NEITHER THE PUMP REVISION IN 2020, NOR THE PUMP CHANGE IN 2021 HAVE BEEN MADE. THE ISSUE IS SO PREVALENT THAT THE REPLACEMENT PUMPS AND REPAIRS GENERALLY HAVE A 30-90 DAY WAIT PERIOD WHERE THE CUSTOMER IS WITHOUT THE PRIMARY VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM IS A SUBSTANTIATED SAFETY RISK. ACCORDING TO A TEXAS JUDGE IN A BOSCH CP4.2 LAWSUIT, WHEN ANOTHER AUTOMAKER, GM TRIED TO DISMISS THE CASE SAYING THE PUMP FAILURE IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, THE COURT RESPONDED: "THE WORST CASE SCENARIO OF A TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS IS NOT A MERE INCONVENIENCE. NOR IS IT A MERE INCONVENIENCE TO SPEND BETWEEN $8,000 TO $20,000 ON REPAIRS TO MAKE THE TRUCKS FIT FOR THEIR ORDINARY PURPOSE. THE COURT REJECTS GM'S SUGGESTION THAT THE RISK OF SPONTANEOUS ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING IS NOT, AS A MATTER OF LAW, UNREASONABLY DANGEROUS, DEPRIVING THE VEHICLES OF FITNESS FOR THEIR PURPOSE OF TRANSPORTATION.". TOYOTA AGREES: "IF A VEHICLE STALL OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH". FCA & RAM HAVE REMEDIED THE SITUATION FOR THE 2021 MODEL YEAR HOWEVER, THE 2019 AND 2020 OWNERS ARE STILL AT RISK. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO FORCE FCA TO RECALL THESE TRUCKS.

AT 63 MILES MY LEFT FRONT TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR STOPPED READING. IT STARTED TO WORK AFTER ABOUT 200 MILES. THEN AT ABOUT 400 MILES, THE RIGHT REAR SENSOR STOPPED WORKING AND IS STILL NOT WORKING. BRAND NEW TRUCK! I HAVE MADE 3 TRIPS TO MY SELLING DEALER AND THEY CAN NOT GET THE REPLACEMENT SENSORS. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS THE EXACT SAME TRUCK AND SIMILAR FAILURE AT TWO WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP. MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE IS A MUCH LARGER PROBLEM THAN FIAT IS ADMITTING TO. NO REPLACEMENT SENSORS AVAILABLE MEANS THAT MANY ARE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AS THEY ARE FAILING. IN THE MEAN TIME, I AM DRIVING WITH AN INCOMPLETE TPS SYSTEM. I ASK THAT YOU LOOK INTO THIS MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.*DT *TR

2020 DODGE RAM 2500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE GPS WOULD DIRECT THE VEHICLE UNDER OVERPASSES EVEN THOUGH IT SHOULDN'T HAVE AS THE CAMPER IT WAS TOWING WAS TOO LARGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND KNEW OF THE DEFECT, BUT DID NOT HAVE A SOLUTION. *JS

I WAS HAULING A 24' ENCLOSED CAR TRAILER FROM SAN DIEGO TO LAS VEGAS. IT WAS LOADED WITH A CAR THAT I HAD JUST PICKED UP FROM THE PAINTER AND WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING IT BACK HOME. AS WE WERE GOING THROUGH THE VICTORVILLE AREA ON INTERSTATE 15 THE ENGINE APPEARED TO HAVE A MISFIRE OR STUMBLE. SHORTLY AFTER THAT AN ALERT MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH REGARDING AN EXHAUST EMISSION SERVICE WAS NEEDED. SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE TRUCK STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND ANOTHER WARNING APPEARED REGARDING A SERVICE ELECTRONIC IGNITION WAS NEEDED AND THEN THE TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS ABLE TO GET ACROSS THREE LANES OF FREEWAY TRAFFIC BEFORE BARELY BEING ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE FREEWAY. I WAS ABLE TO FIND A RELATIVELY SAFE AREA TO PULL OVER AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. IT WOULDN'T THEN RESTART SO WE WERE STRANDED ABOUT 200 MILES FROM LAS VEGAS.
STEERINGAugust 7, 2020
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING FOLLOWED ALONG WITH A LIGHT ON ON THE DASHBOARD CLAIMING THAT POWER STEERING FAILED. IT BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
STEERINGJuly 2, 2020
THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY NAVIGATES LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING, ALSO THE STEERING WHEEL HAS ALMOST NOT AFFECT TO THE VEHICLE GOING STRAIGHT. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, ROAD CONDITION DOES NOT MATTER IT IS AFFECTED ON BOTH CITY ROADS AND HIGHWAY ROADS. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY PULLING A TRAILER.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),SERVICE BRAKESJune 10, 2020
THE SERVICE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MESSAGE COMES ON FOLLOWED BY THE SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. SOMETIMES THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING ALSO FLASHES UNAVAILABLE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IF I TRY TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL I GET ANOTHER MESSAGE THAT SAYS CRUISE CONTROL UNAVAILABLE. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING THE WEEK I PICKED UP THE TRUCK IN MARCH AND WAS INTERMITTENT, HAPPENING EVERY 2ND OR 3RD DAY. NOW IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I START THE TRUCK. I DID NOT TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER UNTIL 3 JUNE 2020 BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS. *TR
UNKNOWN OR OTHERJune 4, 2020
VEHICLE ENGAGES THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING AND ACTIVE BRAKING AT REDUCED SPEEDS WHEN TURNING INSIDE OF A PARKING GARAGE. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE CONFIRM SIMILAR INSTANCES. I HAD TO MANUALLY TURN OFF THE FORWARD COLLISION ACTIVE BREAKING JUST BECAUSE IT WAS SO SENSITIVE I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE AT ANY SPEED INSIDE OF A PARKING GARAGE (PARTICULARLY WHEN APPROACHING A CORNER TO MOVE UP IN LEVELS) WITHOUT THE ACTIVE BRAKING OCCURRING. ANY VEHICLE FOLLOWING WOULD BE AT INCREASED RISK OF COLLIDING WITH MY VEHICLE. *TR

PASSENGER SIDE RAMBOX PLASTIC COVERING IS WARPING. RAMBOX'S PLASTIC COVER IS SECURED TO THE SIDE OF THE RAMBOX STRUCTURE VIA DOUBLE SIDED TAPE. DUE TO TEMPERATURE CHANGES THE PLASTIC COVERING EXPANDS AND CONTRACTS IN COLD AND HOT ENVIRONMENTS, CAUSING THE PLASTIC PANEL TO WARP, AND CAUSING THE 3M TAPE THAT IS USED TO SECURE IT TO THE RAMBOX STRUCTURE TO FAIL.
