Owner's description
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, upon shifting the vehicle into park, the vehicle failed to engage the parking brake and continued to roll forward. After 15 minutes, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Later, the contact stated that upon shifting the vehicle into park, the parking brake engaged; however, the vehicle failed to recognize that the shifter was in park, and a message "Please shift to Park," was displayed. The contact then became aware that the vehicle was unable to be turned off. On another occasion, the contact stated that upon shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle failed to respond properly, with the instrument panel indicating that the vehicle was in neutral. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 8,200.
