Owner's description

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V472000 (SEATS) and 25V576000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. An unknown message about the Hybrid Mode and Gasoline Mode was displayed. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted, and the system reset independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) had failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part not being available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that before the vehicle stalled, there had been issues with the electrical system. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,741.
