Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2011-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 3.6, 5.7, or 6.4 liter engine and previously recalled under NHTSA Recall 14V530 or 15V115. The fuel pump relay inside the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning.
Consequence: A vehicle stall increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) will replace the affected fuel pump relay and related wire harness. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed beginning December 19, 2019. Vehicles that experience a fuel pump failure will receive an interim repair. Owners will receive a second notice when the final remedy becomes available. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 10, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V62.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Dodge Durango, and 2012-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles have electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) and are equipped with a 5.7L or a 3.6L engine and a 160, 180 or 220 amp alternator. In the affected vehicles, the alternator may suddenly fail.
Consequence: If the alternator fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. There is also the possibility that the alternator may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and depending on the part number, will replace the alternator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T36.
I brought my vehicle to the dealership (Axis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Jersey City, NJ) for open safety recalls. The vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately 3 weeks. I was repeatedly told parts were coming (alternator and brake booster), but the repairs were never completed. I was later told I could pick up the vehicle, but no documentation was provided and I have reason to believe the recall repairs were not performed. This has caused delays, inconvenience, and safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer informed the contact that the battery charge was extremely low. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and was informed that the alternator had failed. The alternator was replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle sputtered and stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. A tow truck arrived on the scene, and while the tow truck driver was attempting to jump-start the vehicle, sparks were coming from the battery. The tow truck driver became aware that the alternator was red hot, and the wires surrounding the alternator were burned, with a burning odor coming from the vehicle. The tow truck driver did not jumpstart the vehicle due to safety concerns. The vehicle was pushed onto the flatbed truck. The vehicle was towed to the residence and had not been driven since. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Accessible Technologies, Inc. (ATI) is recalling certain ProCharger Superchargers, model numbers AB037A-100, AB037A-100P, and A037A-100B, sold for installation on 2012-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and SRT vehicles. The supercharger mounting bracket may contact and damage the ABS line, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.
Consequence: A brake fluid leak may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: ATI will notify owners and will replace the supercharger brackets, free of charge. The recall began on December 12, 2017. Owners may contact ATI customer service at 1-913-338-2886.

The affected vehicles had brake booster shields installed under a previous campaign to prevent water from entering the brake booster and limiting braking ability. This recall is to verify that the brake booster shield installation was performed properly.
Consequence: If the brake booster shield was not installed properly, the vehicle's braking ability may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured from January 5, 2010, through September 8, 2013. The subject vehicles have a brake booster with a center shell that may corrode and allow water to get inside.
Consequence: The water inside could freeze and limit the braking ability of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will add a water diverter shield to the booster after the booster has been tested to confirm it can hold an acceptable amount of vacuum pressure. If the booster inspection confirms an unacceptable loss of vacuum pressure, the booster will be replaced. Repairs will be made free of charge. The recall began on May 30, 2014. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured December 3, 2009, to September 1, 2012. In the affected vehicles, the wiring for the vanity lamp in the sun visor may short circuit, after having been remedied for a prior recall for the vanity lamp wiring. This recall is also addressing certain vehicles that have not been remedied under that prior recall.
Consequence: The vanity lamp wiring may short, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealer will install clearance for sun visor wiring, protection from sharp edges, and replace the sun visor, free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2016. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured January 5, 2010, through December 11, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the wiring for the vanity lamp in the sun visor may short circuit, after a service repair is performed.
Consequence: If the vanity lamp wiring shorts, there is an increased risk of fire.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair any damaged wiring, and install a new sun visor that properly routes the wire, free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P36.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured September 17, 2010, to August 19, 2013, and equipped with a 3.6, 5.7 or 6.4 liter engine, and 2012-2013 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured January 18, 2011, to August 19, 2013, and equipped with a 3.6 or 5.7 liter engine. In the affected vehicles, the fuel pump relay inside the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured October 11, 2011, through October 1, 2012. Under certain braking events, the Ready Alert Braking System (RAB) may result in the driver experiencing a hard brake pedal feel.
Consequence: If the driver experiences a hard brake pedal, the driver may not push the pedal as intended, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ABS module software, free of charge. The recall began on April 3, 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number associated with this recall is P05.

Took my vehicle to dealership for fuel pump recall. Was told it wasn’t the actual pump but the wiring and they fixed it. Vehicle continued to have the same issues plus a new issue where the car completely stalled out while driving. I took it back, they said the parts they put on were defective but I’d still have to pay 300$. I paid the money and within 10 hours of getting my car back I stalled on the highway in the fast lane. Luckily it was traffic so no one was hurt and I didn’t cause an accident but this is dangerous and I let the dealership know and all they said was bring it back for a day. I did and they couldn’t tell me anything.
Recall V62/NHTSA 19V-813 that was done on my vehicle in Jan 2023 at 44607 miles failed 0n March 4 2026 the vehicle died and would not start and the repair shop had to replace the fuel pump relay again only 4,811 mile later even though it had been 3 years not many miles and of course Jeep will not reimburse me because it was over 3 years ago
My son was hit head on in a very serious accident and his airbag on driver side didn’t fully deploy resulting in injuries. I’m not sure what component was faulty but the airbag should have fully deployed.
Active head restraint deployed on drivers side while auto was moving in parking lot. This unexpected event made the driver come to a sudden stop. There was no impacts of this vehicle into any object. No injury to the driver in the parking lot but is pssible injury to driver and other in the parking lot could have happened. After inspection it looks like a plastic bracket broke inside the active head rest.
Was driving on highway going 60 miles following traffic my car suddenly stalled took me a little bit to pull over, switched off the car, the car made a funny sound. Waited 5 mins and the car started again. My car is constantly stalling, doesn’t give me any warning signals and the Jeep dealership I go to cannot figure out what it is. It takes about min before my car can restart and i keep moving
I will be going 50-65 mph down the highway and my jeep will just die. It will die for about 10-15 seconds then start again. This is very dangerous. I have talked to multiple people that this has happened too.
- The core component that failed is the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). The failure was initiated by a fault in the external fuel pump relay (V62 Safety Recall remedy part), which caused improper power delivery. This improper power delivery subsequently damaged the fuel pump motor, requiring replacement of both components. This failure has cascaded, also disabling the circuits for the Engine Cooling Fan (Codes P0480/P0693) and Exterior Lighting (Headlights/B1630), and the Horn. I am in possession of the burnt-out fuel pump relay/fuse component. -The engine stalled while the vehicle was operating, the exact hazard the V62 recall was meant to prevent. This was followed by a catastrophic TIPM breakdown, creating new, simultaneous safety risks: Overheating/Fire Risk: The Cooling Fan circuit failed (P0480/P0693), causing severe engine overheating. No Headlights: The Headlights failed (B1630), causing total loss of visibility at night. No Horn: The Horn failed, eliminating the ability to warn other drivers. - Yes. The initial engine stall and subsequent no-start condition (due to a blown relay fuse) were confirmed by an independent service center (Monro). The cascading failures (overheating, horn, lights) and the diagnostic codes (P0480, P0693, B1630, C2201-00) were confirmed on 11/1. - The vehicle was inspected by an independent service center (Monro), who returned the failed recall component to me (relay). Recommend it go to a certified jeep dealership. It is waiting to be towed there. -The first warning was a history of intermittent starting difficulty. On 10/23, the engine stalled while operating and immediately resulted in a no-start condition. The Check Engine Light illuminated after the subsequent failed restart attempts.
The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 15-25 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated before accelerating as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal resistance increased while depressing the brake pedal, which required the brake pedal to be depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that the Emergency Stop Brake engaged unexpectedly while the vehicle was idling and while driving at various speeds. A "Low Battery" message was displayed, and upon inspection, the battery was hot. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed failures with the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) communication and the transmission; however, the vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously included in unknown recalls and was taken to the dealer where the recall repairs were performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Hello, I am reporting failure on the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee in which the drivers side headrest activated while the vehicle was not in operation and not involved in any accident. The active head restraint had activated while the vehicle was parked and in a non-running condition. No accident occurred during this time frame. The passenger side active headrest is still in the factory location and has not been activated. The drivers side head restraint has activated and can not be returned to original position. My current safety is at risk as the active head restraint is not functioning per original safety design intent. My head and neck are currently constrained in a position that causes discomfort while driving due to the location of the active head restraint. The manufacturer (Authorized dealer) has been contacted and they responded with a response including that a recall was not issued for this failure type. A warranty period was extended to 10 years from manufacture date which my 2013 has eclipsed. No inspections have been completed to date. The parts have been untouched since the date of discovery. There were no signs of this issues prior to discovery. There are no service or warning lights currently illuminated on the dash or driver information screen. This is a safety related failure and needs to be repaired by the OEM with no cost to the customer. A well documented and known issue exists and puts the owner/operator of the vehicle at a increased level of risk of injury by continuing to operate this vehicle in its current condition.
Passenger headrest popped out while driving downs the road. No accident bump or anything visible set it off. It punched out like an air bag.
Was inspected @ my local garage. The tipm goes out and you lose turn signals, wipers, transfer case control ( locks in low gear) causes airbag light to go on. And Chrysler does not manufacture them anymore. Jeep had to be towed.
There are several recalls on jeeps catalytic converter. I keep having on going issues with my grand jeep cherokee 2013. This vehicle should also have a recall like the others. This isn't cheap to fix. Can someone please help me with this on going issue with the catalytic converter. Engine light keeps coming on with the same code PO430.
I am reporting repeated safety-critical failures with my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that have rendered the vehicle unreliable, dangerous, and now inoperable. I believe this vehicle suffers from a systemic electrical defect related to the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM)—a well-documented issue across Jeep models that causes starting failures, loss of power, and unpredictable behavior of vehicle systems. On [XXX], my vehicle failed to start. The starter clicks but does not engage. These symptoms align with known TIPM-related failures. Despite this, the authorized dealership (Madison Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM) has refused to test the TIPM, insisting on replacing the starter without confirming the root electrical issue. This places consumers at risk of breakdowns without warning and reflects a pattern of ignoring known defects. My vehicle also has a history of major mechanical failures: Water pump, thermostat, and oil pressure unit replaced (Feb 2024) Rack and pinion, control arm, wheel hub replaced (Jul 2024) Rear brake caliper seized (Aug 2024) Radiator failure (Apr 2025) The vehicle remains with the dealership since 4/30/25. As of 5/14/25, I have received no update or repair. My case with Stellantis (Case [XXX]) has been met with repeated communication failures. I missed one call from the case manager on 5/8 and immediately returned it—leaving three voicemails over two business days and receiving no response. I was promised a callback by 5/13 and still have not heard back. These issues raise serious concerns regarding the safety and reliability of this vehicle. I am requesting the NHTSA investigate potential TIPM-related electrical defects and non-compliance with manufacturer responsibility to address safety defects. I do not believe it is safe for my vehicle to be returned to me in its current state, and I urge your agency to consider further action regarding this recurring and widespread defect.
