Owner's description

I received the following from the dealer when taking my car in for a suspension repair. Stellantis (Jeep) is trying to charge for software bug updates after warranty when the fixes were not available and also the without the fixes it could leave the car inoperable. Most of these should be covered as a safety/operational concern and should not be optional or charged for. "Software Update ,msmd,ttm,eps,idcm,bpcmCustomer Pay$239.33 Causes 1.Software IJpdate msmd Customers may experience the following: • Memory seat does not save on profiles 1 or 2. • Easy entry/exit functionality is inoperative. 2.ttm Customers may comment on one or more of the following: e If the vehicle is traveling at less than 5 kph (3 mph) and the brake pedal is pressed, then both turn lights will flash for two milliseconds. If the vehicle is traveling at less than S kph (3 mph) and one turn light is activated, then the opposite turn light will flash for 20 milliseconds 3.idcm Customer may also experience the following: 12 volt battery drain. e Vehicle will not charge." 4.eps *Customer may also experience the following: • A low frequency EPS motor noise during low speed steering maneuvers which may be more noticeable at higher ambient and system temperatures." 5.bpcm Customers may also experience one or more of the following: e "Vehicle does not start." • Low 12V battery causing vehicle not to start."
