Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2010 Dodge Ram 3500, Ram 4500/5500, 2010-2011 Dodge Dakota, 2010-2014 Dodge Challenger, 2010-2015 Dodge Challenger, Chrysler 300, and 2010-2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.
Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could explode with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V01.

Owners will received a second letter and the recall began March 26, 2020. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is VA6.
I bought Jeep from dealership gas keeps overflowing out of tank during fill ups. Check engine light now on
The ABS module (68259556AD) on my 2016 JKU is not working (code C2200) and the part is not available anywhere. I tried buying online and reaching out to a dealership, but everyone acknowledges Stellantis doesn’t have the part available. There are posts on Jeep forums from 2023 from people with the same issue which is causing their Jeeps to go into limp mode at highway speeds. I feel unsafe driving my car and there’s no current way to fix this issue.
The ABS module has gone out with replacement parts on backorder and not being manufactured for a lengthy time. This is caused my jeep to go into limp mode since August 2025. There has not been a resolution to solve this problem at this time. Even to have it refurbished or rebuilt has not been an option due to most companies no longer working on this part.
I have a 2016 jeep wrangler and I was trying to get it fixed but the dealership said it was the abs module and that they could not get one in because they are on back order because they warehouse that provides the chips for them burned down. I was then told that it is not promised to when they will be available and then they tried to turn around and ask me did I want to trade it in. So now I am stuck still paying for the jeep and I can not drive it because of the abs module. I understand life happens but the manufacture should have called a recall or something because people are not going to be able to drive their vehicles but still have to pay for them and I am sure no one wants to start over on a new vehicle when they have paid so much on their current one.

Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured June 16, 2015, to August 14, 2016. In certain crash conditions, the front impact sensor wiring may be pulled until it detaches before a signal can be received by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC).
Consequence: If the ORC module does not receive a signal from the front impact sensor, both frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners will not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reroute the front impact sensor wiring and relocate the impact sensor branch, free of charge. The recall began on November 10, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S76.
Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 Right Hand Drive Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured February 16, 2010, to May 2, 2016. The clockspring assembly may become contaminated with dust and cause the air bag circuit to fail.
Consequence: Failure of the air bag circuit may prevent the driver's frontal air bag from deploying in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clockspring, wheel back cover, and column shroud, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S40.
Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER CLOCKSPRING/SPIRAL CASSETTE
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain right hand drive 2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Debris contamination may cause the clockspring to fail, preventing the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash.
Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the clockspring, steering wheel back cover, and steering column shrouds, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 27B.
ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) Control Module failed nine months ago. Without working ABS Control Module the braking system and traction control system do not function which is a huge safety concern. New ABS Control Modules have been out of stock at all Jeep Dealers across the country! Thousands of Jeep Wrangjer owners are waiting for new ABS Control Modules and until Chrysler corporation provides new Modules all owners are enduring big safety risks driving their Jeeps! Need immediate help from the NHTSA forcing Chrysler to immediately provide new ABS Control Modules. A safety recall needs to be issued immediately for failed ABS Control modules for many thousands of Jeep Wranglers Thank you for whatever help the NHTSA can provide to resolve this big safety issue.
Keep ABS / Traction control module defective with no replacement available.
The ABS module has failed and this is such a widespread issue with Jeep Wranglers that you can't even find a new ABS module part to order. The failure of this part impacts the braking system. Jeep should make a recall and fix this issue.
ABS Module has been on backorder since 2021. Cannot get an ETA on part from the dealership. They advised its been on backorder 3 yrs at the time issue was confirmed. 9 months to date on backorder list. No traction control, ABS, cruise control and emergency brake. The vehicle has lost speed making it not maintain a speed on hills, and highway. Vehicle feels unstable.
ABS Module has gone bad. Has an internal communication error. This is typical on these vehicles. The problem is getting a part from Chrysler. The modules have been on back order for years and there’s no sign of getting a fix. The vehicle is unsafe to drive but we are left with no choice but to continue to drive it. Why hasn’t anything been done to kick them in gear and get replacement parts made?
I own a 2016 Jeep Wrangler with a malfunctioning Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The ABS is not functioning, creating a serious safety risk, particularly during emergency braking and adverse road conditions. The vehicle has been under an active repair order with Town & Country Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram since October, but the required part remains on indefinite backorder with no estimated time of arrival. I have escalated this issue to Stellantis Customer Care and have ongoing email correspondence documenting the delay and lack of resolution. Despite these efforts, the vehicle remains unrepaired, forcing me to either drive with a known safety defect or go without transportation. This situation represents a failure to repair a critical safety system within a reasonable timeframe. I am submitting this complaint due to the ongoing safety risk and lack of timely resolution.
Just like many other people have wrote about, the ABS SENSOR is defective. The ABS light comes and the traction light does also. Jeep has been aware of the problem for 18 months to 2 years. There is no fix or replacement sensor in sight.
MY GIRLFRIEND ALMOST CRASHED GOING DOWN A HILL TOWARD A STOP SIGN FOR A BUSY INTERSECTION FOR A ROAD THAT IS ALONG A CLIFFSIDE. JEEP CANNOT GET A PART FOR THIS VEHICLE AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO GET ONE. NEEDS AN ABS MODULE AS ONE OF THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUITS IS NOT COMMUNICATING. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO MULTIPLE MODULE REBUILDERS AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET PARTS FOR THIS MODULE ANYMORE. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE WRANGLERS AND JEEP IS NOT WILLING TO RELEASE A RECALL TO MAKE IT RIGHT. DUE TO PARTS SHORTAGE, THE MODULES ARE GOING ONLINE FOR 1500-2000, WHICH FOR A MAJOR SAFETY COMPONENT CAN BE A LARGE ISSUE. WE HAVE SINCE PARKED THE VEHICLE FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS WHILE I ATTEMPT TO LOCATE A REASONABLY PRICED MODULE OR FIND SOMEBODY THAT HAS THE CHIPS/CAPACITORS TO REBUILD IT. I AM A DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN WITH 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND WE HAVE SENT LOTS OF THESE VEHICLES TO AUCTION FOR THE SAME CONCERN.
ABS module reported to dealer in February, 2025..They said was safe to drive. Then April 2025 the module went out.-Part has been on backorder since March 2025. It was taken to Key Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Marianna in March 2025. Jeep would not steer properly, the brakes were not normal and all the warning lights on dash were on. I could not drive. .
Pulled into parking space. Applied brakes and came to a complete stop. Could hear engine revving up.. Thought ok, that gas pedal seem to be pressed. Look at my foot wasn’t pressing the pedal. Looked at floor mats. It was laying flat on floor, not manipulating the pedal. I thought what’s happening? And lifted foot off brake ever so slightly and car jumped 6 inch high curb and hit the building.. Pretty hard. Caused structural damage to the wall. I went to the hospital, driven by husband. Swelling of my right leg on the shin. Released and told to stay off leg for few days, no fractures. After doing research, It seems other jeep riders have had this experience. I have no idea how fast the jeep was going.
Anti-Lock Brake System stopped working rendering the car inoperable. The first incident: about 5 years ago the ABS engaged the brakes while driving almost causing a collision. This incident occurred in Guaynabo, PR. After this incident the ABS Module stopped working but the car was still operable. A week ago the PCM lost communication with the ABS module bringing the car into "limp mode" (stuck in 3rd gear until y did not longer engaged the transmission. Also the speedometer stopped working.) This happened while driving on a Sunday on busy road. This has been a common issue with Jeep Wranglers made from 2012 to 2018. The company at this moment is not producing replacement parts (ABS Modules) for these vehicles leaving owners without any way to fix or use their cars. ABS Module DTC's: -C2200 -U0100 -U0141 -U0126 -U0002 While scanning the module comes and goes offline.
