Mazda North America Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2003-2008 Mazda6, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 and 2004 MPV vehicles nationwide. Mazda is also recalling 2005-2006 MPV vehicles in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands. On July 9, 2019 this recall was expanded to include certain 2004-2011 RX-8 vehicles that were previously recalled under 16V-354 but have not yet been repaired. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these passenger air bag inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy is performed. Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall began July 6, 2018. Mailing to the affected RX-8 owners began July 6, 2019. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, option 4. Mazda's number for this recall is 2618F. Note: With the addition of the RX-8 vehicles, this recall fully supersedes recall 16V354.

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2003-2008 Mazda6, 2004-2005 MPV, 2004 RX-8, and 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 vehicles. These vehicles had their passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy is performed. Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. The recall began December 3, 2019. Hello i am a 2nd owner of a Mazda 2007 6. And the man i brought car from said it always did it to him as well.i would explain it as in stopping or speeding up the dashboard lights flicker or goes off, the engine gets real loud and car jerks and shakes and loses power check engine light comes on and AT.and Cars dyes in reverse a few times on me. Auto lots said that it is common and known for electrical problems and engine issues and pieces called camshafts position actuator and transmission range sensor and gears. And the man owned before me has replaced them multiple times. Its dangerous to be driving specially on interstate and car stalls or lose so much power that i only get about 20 miles an hour
WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY,AND WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND GO OFF WHENEVER IT DECIDES TO, WHEATHER IT'S DAY OR NIGHT.
I'M STUCK IN MY VEHICLE BECAUSE NO AMOUNT OF PRESSURE WILL RELEASE THE SWITCH LEVER. LUCKILY THIS WASN'T A TRAFFIC STOP BECAUSE THIS WOULD HAVE MADE THINGS COMPLICATED IF NOT DEADLY, NOT EVEN CONSIDERING THE HIGH POSSIBILITY THAT I WOULD NEED TO EXIT THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SHOULD I BE IN A ACCIDENT.
MAZDA 2007 MAZDA 6 WITH SEVERE CORROSION TO ENGINE SUBFRAME POSING A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IF BREAKS WHILE DRIVING. CURRENT MAZDA 6 IN QUESTION HAD LESS THAN 100K MILES AND WAS SPOTTED BY AN OIL CHANGE TECHNICIAN. I'VE ASKED A COUPLE MECHANICS AND WAS INFORMED THE CAR WOULD BE A POSSIBLE DEATH TRAP TO MYSELF OR OTHERS IF NOT FIXED QUICKLY. ALL PARTIES ARE AMAZED AT AMOUNT OF CORROSION, INTERNET SEARCHES SUGGEST THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND ALREADY A RECALL IN PLACE FOR OTHER YEAR MAZDA 6'S.
SUBFRAME RUSTED IN THE FRONT RIGHT, BEHIND THE ENGINE CLOSE TO THE CONTROL ARM. JUST THIS PART OF THE SUBFRAME.
TAKATA RECALL. FOR THE PAST YEAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR AT WARMER TEMPERATURES AND GOES AWAY AND COLDER TEMPERATURES. THE CODE THAT COMES BACK IS B2234 AND THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THIS HAS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT THAT WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE TAKATA RECALL.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE ARE KNOWN TO GO OUT BECAUSE OF A 'HARNESS ISSUE' AFTER RESEARCH NUMEROUS OTHER MAZDA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSSUE. THIS IS WHOLE STATIONARY, IN MOTION , CITY, HIGHWAY, DOESN'T MATTER. A QUICK REMEDY IS HITTING THE LIGHT AND IT'LL TURN BACK ON. I RECEIVED A TICKET ON A MILITARY BASE BECAUSE OF THIS. IM
I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC 07 MAZDA 6 S GRAND TOURING THAT IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION JERKING. THE CAR ONLY HAS 100K MILES ON IT. THE JERK NORMALLY HAPPENS BETWEEN GEARS 4-6.
TAKATA RECALL TRYING FOR 4 YRS NOW ALWAYS TOLD NO PART FOR IT OR CALL MAZDA
TAKATA RECALL, SAME AS DRIVER SIDE. TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS CALL MAZDA IT'S BEEN YEARS NOW. STILL DRIVING/WITH KIDS!
TAKATA RECALL. TOOK MY MAZDA TO A CERTIFIED MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE DEFECTED AIR BAGS BUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL STAYS ON MAKING ME CONCERNED THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY AIRBAGS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. I HAVE A 4 MONTH OLD THAT RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY.
THE AIRBAG DEFLATED WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT SEPTEMBER 25, 2015. I SUFFERED A FRACTURED STERNUM FROM THE AIRBAG AND SEVERELY MULTIPLE FRACTURES IN RIGHT ANKLE. THIS CAR WAS TOTALED. THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT MY FAULT, THE OTHER CAR MOVED INTO MY LANE AND I STRUCK IT HEAD ON.
