CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE AN INADEQUATE SEAL AT THE CONNECTION, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A FUEL LEAK. IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE OCCUPANT PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION."
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEMS MAY NOT MEET THE NECK EXTENSION REQUIREMENTS.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A TRAY INSERT ON THE TOP OF THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE TRAY INSERT CORRECTS THE NONCOMPLIANCE.
I purchases a set of new Michelin Defender LTX M/S LT265/75R16 (123/120R) tires for my 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K2500 in June 2023 and I am attempting to register the tires with Michelin. None of the tires have a date code on them. The DOT code of these tires is 1M3 4N 00KX, there is NO date code on any of the four (4) tires.
The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and lost power steering and power braking functionality. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the security system that controlled the fuel pump and fuel injectors had been activated. The contact pulled off the highway and could not restart the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to a service station where he inspected the vehicle and became aware that the distributor had disintegrated causing the vehicle to lose motive power and stall. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact recently had a mobile mechanic install an aftermarket distributor cap and rotor from an auto parts dealer. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 183,613.
I contacted Chevrolet corporate and they confirmed an open government ordered recall. They told me to contact a local dealer. I have contacted 2 dealers in the San Diego area, Bob Sall Chevrolet and Courtesy Chevrolet. Both refuse to fix the recall issue. I was told by Bob Stall Chevrolet that I could pay myself to have the work done

The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The contact was able to push the vehicle to the side of the road with the assistance of Police Officers. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that fuel was leaking onto the ground and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred two more times while driving. The vehicle was then towed to the independent mechanic, who replaced the fuel pump two more times. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 06E043000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was bouncing while sitting in the seats and while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the tires and aligned the vehicle several times; however, the failure had been reoccurring. The contact also stated that the dashboard was fractured. The contact also stated that water was leaking through the top of the windshield whenever it rained. The windshield was replaced twice. The contact stated that the rear driver’s side seat belt and passenger’s seat belt failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that the seat belts would fail to come out of the housing or they would be twisted whenever they came out of the housing. The contact also stated that the seat belt latches were not working. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Rear brakes started grabbing and locking up about 9,009 miles after a drum, shoe and hardware replacement. Rear skids and slides.
MY SUBURBAN HAS 43,700 MILES, AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THAT THE SYSTEM IS UNREPAIRABLE, THE ONLY THING THEY CAN RECOMMEND IS TO PULL THE FUSE AND DISABLE THE ABS SYSTEM ENTIRELY. I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL PARTS STORE, AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE EBCM- ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE- WAS THE MODEL KH310, MANUFACTURED BY KELSEY-HAYES, AND IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. FURTHER, THAT THERE ARE NO USED, REPAIRED OR REMANUFACTURED UNITS AVAILABLE. I CHECKED THE INTERNET, AGAIN, THERE ARE NO UNITS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE, NO ONE MANUFACTURES A REPLACEMENT, IN FACT THAT MODEL, THE KH 310, IS "UNREPAIRABLE." YET I'M PRETTY SURE THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THESE SUBURBANS STILL ON THE ROAD TODAY, MANY WHICH HAVE NON-FUNCTIONING AND NOW TOTALLY UNREPAIRABLE ABS BRAKES. IT IS A HEAVY VEHICLE- WEIGHS ABOUT 5,300 POUNDS, AND WITH ITS FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS OFTEN USED IN THE WINTER, ESP IN SNOWY PLACES LIKE WI WHERE I LIVE. I FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS, PERHAPS EVEN IRRESPONSIBLE, TO SAY TO THE OWNERS OF ALL THESE VEHICLES; "SORRY, WE CAN'T FIX IT, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO PULL THE FUSE AND GO WITHOUT ABS." I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE GOVERNMENT TELL GM, OR KELSEY-HAYES, THAT AT THE LEAST THEY NEED TO MAKE A COMPATIBLE REPAIR UNIT AVAILABLE FOR SALE. IF I LEAVE THE FUSE PLUGGED IN, THE "ABS" WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF, BUT THE TRUCK WANTS TO ROLL THROUGH A STOP LIGHT SINCE THE ABS RELEASES THE BRAKES, ERRONEOUSLY THINKING THE TRUCK IS SKIDDING, AND YOU HAVE TO QUICKLY JAM HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO MAKE THE TRUCK STOP, AND HOPE THAT THE EXTRA TWO FEET YOU ROLL DOESN'T SEND YOU INTO THE REAR BUMPER OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU. MY FATHER GERHARD IS GIVING ME THIS VERY TRUCK BECAUSE HE HAS BECOME AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN EQUIPPED WITH CORNELL 1000 TIRES, SIZE: P235/75R15. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK SEVERELY, ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELING UP TO 65 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TWO FRONT WHEELS WOBBLED, WHICH WERE MOVED TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER A TIRE ROTATION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRE SIDEWALLS WERE WORN. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE DUE TO THE COMPOUND OR THE BELT RUBBER AND REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17T019000 (TIRES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 194,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER OF A 1999 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH DOWNHILL, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REACHED SPEEDS OF BETWEEN 95-100 MPH BEFORE CRASHING INTO A BUILDING WITH AN ALUMINUM STRUCTURE. THE CRASH WAS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED LACERATION OVER THE RIGHT EYE WHICH REQUIRED SEVERAL STITCHES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED REGAL DODGE LOCATED AT 1223 BLUE VALLEY DR, PEN ARGYL, PA 18072, (610) 863-6900, WHERE IT WAS SCHEDULED TO BE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 200,000 MILES. AT ABOUT 150,000 MILES HAD DRIVERS SIDE DOOR UNABLE TO OPEN FROM INSIDE, HAD TO ROLL DOWN WINDOW TO OPEN FROM EXT'R HANDLE. AT SAME TIME BACK PASSENGER DOOR AND WINDOW WOULD NOT OPEN. SPENT WAY TOO MUCH $ WITH CHEV DEALER TO FIX, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NOW AT 200K MILES SAME THING AGAIN WITH DRIVER SIDE DOOR, WON'T OPEN FROM INSIDE, AND DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN (FAILED AT SAME TIME). AM WRITING THIS ON BEHALF OF MY 89 Y/O MOTHER AND 93 Y/O FATHER WHO OWN THE VEHICLE IN AURORA, MO. MOM GOT TRAPPED IN THE CAR AND HAD TO HAVE HELP GETTING OUT THROUGH PASSENGER SIDE - WHEN YOU ARE 89 YEARS OLD IT IS DIFFICULT TO CRAWL OVER A CONSOLE. WILL BE CONTACTING GM TO SEE IF THEY WILL OFFER TO HELP OR BLOW US OFF. IF LATTER CAN GUARANTEE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT; HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH 1995 GMC 4WD PICKUP I HAD OWNED, DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED, INSIDE AND OUT, AND COST SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPAIR. NO RELIEF FROM GM EITHER.
BRAKE LINES RUSTED THROUGH FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CAUSING MINOR ACCIDENT DEC 2015 SEPARATE INCIDENT:: HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LINE RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING FUEL TO SPRAY AROUND THE FRONT OF GAS TANK AREA UNNOTICED FOR 2 TRIPS. THANKFULLY NO FIRE RESULTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 2500. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A BUILDING. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 1999 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE GAS GAUGE READ ERRATICALLY AND INCORRECTLY FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS. THEN THE ENGINE DIED IMMEDIATELY AFTER I PARKED THE VEHICLE ONE DAY AND FAILED TO RESTART. I DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FUSE HAD BLOWN. A NEW FUSE LASTED 30 SECONDS BEFORE BLOWING IN ITS TURN. ON REMOVING THE GAS GAUGE SENDER/FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY FROM THE GASOLINE TANK, I NOTICED THAT TWO OF THE WIRES WERE FUSED TOGETHER. SEPARATING THE WIRES TOOK SOME EFFORT AND REVEALED THAT THE INSULATION ON BOTH WIRES HAD COMPLETELY ABRADED WHERE THEY CONTACTED EACH OTHER SUCH THAT THE BARE WIRES INSIDE TOUCHED EACH OTHER AND SHORTED OUT THE CIRCUIT. THE INSULATION ON ONE OF THE WIRES HAD OVERHEATED AND PARTIALLY MELTED OFF THE WIRE FOR A SHORT DISTANCE (1/2 INCH) FROM THE POINT OF CONTACT. REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP/GAS GAUGE SENDER SOLVED THE PROBLEM. SINCE THE ENTIRE UNIT IS LOCATED INSIDE THE GASOLINE TANK OF THE VEHICLE, I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS SHORT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED A SPARK THAT WOULD IGNITE THE GASOLINE IN THE GASOLINE TANK. IN THE PURPLE WIRE PHOTO, ONE CAN SEE HOW THE POINT OF CONTACT WITH THE GREY WIRE ABRADED THE INSULATION DOWN TO THE BARE WIRE INSIDE. IN THE GREY WIRE PHOTO, ONE CAN SEE BOTH A COMPARABLE ABRASION DOWN TO THE BARE WIRE AND ALSO PARTIAL MELTING OF THE WIRE INSULATION, TO THE POINT THAT ADDITIONAL BARE WIRE SHOWED. THE METAL WIRES DO NOT APPEAR TO HAVE MELTED OR FUSED; ONLY THE INSULATION DID THAT. BUT THE INSULATION MELTING AND FUSION, AS WELL AS THE TWO SAFETY FUSES THAT BLEW, ARGUE THAT THE ABRASION OF THE INSULATION CONTINUED UNTIL THE WIRES INSIDE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER. THE ENTIRE UNIT IS SPRING LOADED SUCH THAT IT IS IN CONTACT WITH BOTH THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM OF THE GASOLINE TANK. SINCE THE TANK FLEXES SLIGHTLY IN NORMAL USE, THE WIRES FLEX AS WELL, RUBBING EACH OTHER ALWAYS. *TR
I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE BRAKES DIDN`T WORK, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW BRAKE FLUID ALL OVER THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE.I THEN NOTICED SEVERAL RUSTED BRAKE LINES ONE OF WHICH HAD A LARGE HOLE IN IT. I HAD MY WIFE STEP ON THE PEDAL AND BRAKE FLUID CAME STREAMING OUT OF THE HOLE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK FAILED IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THE AUTO LOCKS DO NOT AFFECT IT NOR CAN THE LOCK BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED AT ALL FROM INSIDE OR OUT. NO INDICATION OF BREAKAGE OCCURRED, IT JUST FROZE UP ONE DAY WITH NORMAL USE.
THE SEALTBELT RESTRAINT LOCKING SYSTEM IS FAULTY AND THIS HAD TO HAVE BEEN KNOWN DURING AND AFTER VEHICLE PRODUCTION .THE SEATBELTS WITH PASSENGERS TRRDTRAUNEF TRAVELS TO FAR FORWARD WHICH WOULD END UP IN DEATH OR VERY BAD HEAD AND NECK INJURIES BECAUSE THE SEATBELTS DO NOT LOCK WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED HARD OR FORWARD MOMENTUM IS STOPPED VERY SUDDENLY! I HAVE TRIED TO CAUSE A LOCK ACTION BY PULLING ON SEATBELTS VERY QUICKLY AND FORCEFULLY WITH VEHICLE SITTING PARKED AND ALSO WHILE DRIVING TO SLAM THE BRAKES TO CAUSE A FAST LOCK ON SEATBELTS AND NO AFFECT WAS APPARENT TO SAFELY RESTRAIN ADULTSADULTS,CHILDREN,OR EVEN NEWBORNS IN THE CAR SEATSEAT.THIS IS UNSAFE AND WITH AIRBAG SYSTEM IN THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE THIS WILL LEAD TO DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH!
